Former ship from 1930 having become a floating maritime museum. Great tour to do while in Ostende. Visit the sailboat at your own pace. Boards (more often in Dutch), pictures and an interactive board to have information on the ship, its history, and renovations. Reasonable price, 5€ per adult, for a visit of more than 30min if you can your time. Payment in cash. Well maintained. Beware the stairs. So not accessible with stroller or wheelchair. Cannot touch things like in the Amandine. Sympathy of the counter attendant remains to be readjust…

Beautiful ship in the city center. Too bad it was closed on the weekend. Yachts near it are no less beautiful here.

Beautiful sailboat carefully restored. Here you will find numerous photos and videos from the history of the ship, original furnishings, costumes and objects. Very informative

Lovely ship. Well restored and maintained. Interesting to jump back in time and see how the ship life was back then.

The original +100 year old three mast behemoth is well worth a visit. For only €5 entrance you get quite a lot, especially the interior of the ship was a very interesting experience.

Incredible piece of history. Imagine circumventing the globe on this vessel and sprinkle some history on top…

Ship is very well kept and the representation of life at sea is fantastic, we felt part of the crew in the 50's :)

Nice boat to visit, knowing it's not a replica!! Also what is interesting is that I thought it was a sailing ship only. But the Mercator also has a 500bhp engine on board.

Been Great to visit this ship (especially that OMd 's 1984 hit Locomotion video was recorded on it)

Good experience. Very interesting to explore this piece of living history and see what life at sea was like during the early 20th century.

A lovely floating museum that you can visit quickly when in Oostende. I actually expected more but it seems even a huge ship could be small at a certain point. You can get inside the ship and learn about life on board. There are different cabins like the pharmacy, doctor, kitchen? Operation room... etc. I loved walking around but would have appreciated it of they could do an English translation or English guide somehow. I wanted to read what was being said there but eventually couldn't. The officer in charge of the tours is really nice and sweet. He offered to take some pictures of me since I visited alone and then was happy to recommend some other restaurants to have a nice meal later on.

Reasonable place, interesting for history buffs. for a short stay. Pass the entire ship between floors. and see the places where they slept and ate. and all the accessories they used. The ship's travel history. Entrance costs €7 per person. Worth going in only if there is nothing else to do. Not too interesting.
