I honestly don't know how come this hotel can get this rating. Besides the location, I see nothing positive in this hotel. The hotel is managed by an old couple who apparently have not yet upgraded themselves on the service concept. They don't value you as customers. They see you as someone stay in their place without paying. Such arrogance is something we really could not put up with. The room is old. Some people might like the "cosy"but I call it lack of maintenance. Will NOT recommend to anyone. Even wonder how come they are still in business.

We had to pay 241,90€ for two persons for one night. Normally that's the suite of the hotel! In the price was only the breakfast and the Wi-Fi! In the "suite" was no coffee machine or something to warm a bit water for a tea, no telephone to call the reception, no bath in the "suite", no radio not an alarm,the lift to small even for two persons! The mini bar is extra to the "suite" and the fridge had inside two cola two beers and two small waters for a can of cola 2,5€ ! Really the WORST hotel that we even went!!!!! We will never come back again! We did not came last minute we did a booking online 4 days before! The room didn't had a coffee maker! And the lounge was closing that's the reason you gave us a key to come in and out from a small side door! The TV had not channels from Belgium.

Overall, the room was OK. In itself it provided the minimum required. There is enough space for two persons, the bathroom also had the basics. For my liking, the bed was too soft, the towels were too small, for the price some parts were really down to the basics. I'd expect it in a low budget hotel but Oostende is not the the of city where that should happen. The reception part is closed off most of the time, they say they're available to open the outter door until 8pm but I had to wait 5minutes for it to be remotely opened past 6pm. It makes it harder to move in and out of the room when with another person without closing them in the room... Just so I can have the keys to enter the hotel itself. The free wifi kept on resetting itself and required to constantly refill the password which was also stingy considering the pricing. Breakfast is ran from 8 to 10am, if you're wondering, I didn't take it. The cleaning staff came everyday and as the room did not have a "do not disturb" to put on the door, we had to verbally deny it everyday. Not cool when you're sleeping. On the other hand, the cleaning ladies were lovely and very helpful. The last part that made me dislike the hotel is that the check-out time is 11am! A manager came to the room after we denied room service on the last day to warn us at 11:40 that the check-out was at 11 and that if we were to stay longer than that it would be 15euros per hour. That fee is standard in hotels, but when you're not warned, when it's not written on your room and when you haven't even been able to reach the staff at 6pm to fix the flickering lights in your room... I find it extremely unpleasant and not very professional to push people out in that manner. I'm sure if you just want a room, this hotel will be fine. It's too pricey for the service they provide. For this price some elements are unacceptable. The bare minimum is to have someone that will interact with you for the so called emergencies, if you forget your phone in your room and you can't reach them by ringing the bell for 5minutes,what do you think as a customer if the only way to get helped is to call them? I felt it was the service of a cheap hotel in a big city. The elevator works half the time, making you go up and down 3 times just so you can open the door to the ground level. There is no staff past 8pm, you can't ask even for help in their emergency system I had no response. If the room were a bit cheaper, the hotel would be fine. The staff itself is nice but the service provided is sub-par.

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral in Oostende. Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel und der Strand sind in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Es gab ein sehr gutes Frühstück. Mit der Ausstattung meines Zimmers war ich sehr zufrieden. Trotz der Lage im Zentrum wird man nicht durch Lärm gestört.

We had a great time at Cardiff Hotel, located in the middle of everything in Oostend, best quality price ratio in the city! Plus, Kay and Jing are 2 lovely hosters that will make your stay super confortable... Highly recommended!!

Stayed in many hotels in Oostende whilst working over there. This is by far the best I’ve stayed in so far. Family ran hotel where nothing is too much trouble for the hosts. I have a work colleague who has dietary requirements which they met every day with his pack-up lunch for work. Rooms cleaned to a very high standard every day. Couldn’t possibly be in a better location. Highly recommended.

I live in Oostende but my friends came to visit me and stayed here, they said here all was fine and nothing to complain about. If my friends are happy, then I am happy too :)

Lovely little hotel located very close to the casino of Oostende. We had a fine breakfast, not so many choices but certainly enough. Very kind owner's.
