Anyone who is traveling to Berlin must see this place. You can take the S-7 train from Berlin Central Station and reach Podsdam Central Station in about 30 minutes. From here take bus 695 or X-15 and arrive at Sanssouci Palace. A great experience of picnic with family and friends. A huge park with water channels and fountains. One can spend a whole day here.

Sanssouci is a horticultural masterpiece! I am coming for a second time now, after nearly 15 years (when I was a student) and it hasn’t changed a bit! Beautiful like a living tapestry, serene retreat, sculpted hedges to vibrant flower beds! Sanssouci is a timeless harmony!

A beautiful garden/park with a great variety of flowers, sculptures and fountains. Well cared-of. Good place for a walk, for decision-making or for thinking about the things of life.

Must-see place when you visit Potsdam! Excellent for enjoying arts and architecture (especially baroque), as for recreation, running and just spending peaceful time in great environment!

The highlight of Potsdam. It's best to visit during late spring and summer when the garden is green and it is sunny. Nevertheless you could spend a good time in the palace and the Neus palace nearby

Even Prussian lovers of the military needed something beautiful from time to time - now we can all enjoy these wonderful gardens and palaces. If the sun is shining on the park, it's magical.

Beautiful place to visit. In november they cover up the statues in the park to protect them from winter. Keep that in mind. It's a beautiful park in autumn. It's walkable from one side to the other but it is quite far. Lots of small extra buildings in the park. Sansouci was not open (saturday, 11 november). But the new castle was. Also the botanical garden. I didn't go in both buildings. Some of the buildings need some restoration or cleaning. It looks a little bit wore down. They are renovating the orangerie and that is something I would love to see in summer or spring. Overall is the park not very touristy and many locals run or walk in the park with their kids. Lovely atmosphere! Very peaceful.

Wonderful historical sights. Self guided tour that allows you to observe the details in the castle. Would highly recommend it.

A must visit place in Potsdam. We have visited this beautiful park many times, particularly in the summer. This place has a spectacular panoramic view, which will definitely make you feel happy. One can enjoy a long walk into the wonderful garden. We had a great time here.

A wonderful park. I think it is totally brilliant that entrance is free for everyone as it should be (we pay taxes and the tourists are good for local businesses).

Fascinating place in Potsdam. Beautiful parkland with several castles / manor houses. Recommend taking a full day to explore as we didn't give it enough time.

In 2018, I visited Sanssouci Palace and Gardens, which was commissioned by Frederick the Great, King of Prussia, and designed by Georg Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff. It was finished in 1747. Sanssouci is actually a French name meaning “without worries” or “carefree”. I have to say, I like the title. It’s a really green and colorful place that mixes nature and beautiful architecture in an awesome way. It may be designed for a pleasant retreat for kings, but it fits the Berlin aesthetic too. One of the first things that struck me about Berlin is that there are parks and nature everywhere throughout the city. I hope to visit again soon when the opportunity comes.

A fairytale palace surrounded by magnificent gardens. The entrance to the park is free. I’d recommend to stroll around it especially in spring or summer, when the park is lush green and in bloom.

Was brought here as a surprise and it was so lovely. The gardens and the swans were beautiful. Was one of my highlights of Germany. We visited in September so the chestnuts had fallen and some leaves but the trees were still green and beautiful and it wasn't too busy. Would recommend for an enchanting step back in time.
