We had a wonderful experience visiting Masseria Brancati for an olive oil tasting tour. They have over 1700 trees, some of which are over 2,000 years old. The tour includes a walk through the olive tree groves, a look underground where they used to press the olives and a tasting. You can also add an option to learn how to make mozzarella, which we couldn’t recommend enough!

Touring the olive tree orchards and learning about the oil production process was a highlight of our trip to Puglia. The tour and tasting is very affordable and you can learn a lot about the history and economy of the region, as well as about the food. I am unsure if they are still doing the hotel or restaurant as of 2022 July, due to the pandemic.

A must see: millennia-old olive trees, a rich and fascinating Masseria history, an interesting and funny guide, all topped off with a delicious tasting. Can only recommend. Book directly through Masseria on the phone it’s much better and more affordable than booking through agents and Airbnb experience.

A wonderful and must see Masseria. Of course there’s delicious olive oil but the knowledgeable & passionate guide, historical artifacts and general beauty of the location made this very special.

We had an olive oil tour. The masseria and surroundings are very nice. There is an old oil mill and the tour is very informative, for 12€ per person, around one hour. The tasting was a bit basic.

We participated in the olive tour of 2 hours at 11:30 am. The guide was excellent with very good English. Her enthusiasm and explanations were of superb quality. The threes are impressive and tell century old stories. After the walk amongst the olive threes, the guide showed us the Roman and medieval olive press. Next we enjoyed the olive tasting. The entire tour is a delight, the Masseria is absolutely stunning and the hosts very welcoming. Highly recommended!

An unexpected delight. Everything you ever wanted to know about olive trees, olive oil production and how to tell the difference between one type of extra virgin olive oil and another. An incredible array of β€œmonumental” olive trees (ie. each over 1,000 years old) and one amazing specimen dating back 3,000 years and still producing loads of olives. Our guide was informative, warm and engaging. Highly recommended.
