Legendary venue, now reborn under dynamic new ownership and massive reinvestments. Amazing three-room club right in the heart of the Market area, top-notch musical programming and very professional staff. Highly recommended!

Wow! If you enjoy the Montreal club scene at all, you will thrive at 56ByWard. The first night I visited Berlin, the most amazing dance hits filled the room, while an artist on an electric violin weaved between the most inclusive environment in Ottawa. Felt like a once in a life time moment. And the chandelier 👌🤩 take a pic. Second time I visited we enjoyed bottle service at Krüsh. Treated like royalty to say the very least. Amazing DJ, the most professional staff and the guests all look like they came off a runway. 10/10 you need to make this your spot… and then come find me on the dance floor 💃

My new home. No joke. The vibes here are immaculate on all three floors. Every day that I'm here there's something to do. The work that goes into the curation of the music here is bar none. The cocktails in the middle floor are cheaper than the rest of byward market and the atmosphere is very inviting. The place to be in ottawa.

Great venue/concept still very new which makes it relatively quiet compared to other places around (which isn’t bad) great music choices all nights. But would benefit from having its own image on a music genre they prefer hence Berlin.

The location is beautiful, but unfortunately this is genuinely the worst DJ in the market. I have literally NOT seen/heard a worse DJ in my last 3 years. The Show dj has NOTHING on this guy. I attended for a charity event and the evening was majorly impacted for them due to his lack of experience. He could not get the mics to work, played the music so loud and inconsistently the charity hosts were unable to be heard during the speeches, and did not know the sound cues. Unfortunately he brought down the vibes big time. The venue was beautiful, drinks amazing, bartender rocked.

Really nice inside. If you want to just chill and chat with friends there's a floor for that. If you want to dance there's a floor for that. The bouncer was a very friendly and funny guy. Bartender was very quick and proffesional. Music was great.

underground was closed sadly but other two were opened. one like a bar was decent. other that was like a club was Amazon and good dj'ing.. if you are visiting Ottawa, you must visit!

Overall, the club itself wasn’t bad. I appreciated the split of the floors being tailored to your music taste. I think the lighting and environment could have been more consistent across the three. My biggest issue and reason for the star rating was security. Most of the night, they were respectful, until the end. Getting our coats to leave (which is not ticketed or paid) they questioned why we were trying to walk past him (to access the coat check) and immediately after taking my coat off the hanger, he was kicking me out of the area without letting me even put it on while I was trying to leave. It was just unnecessarily rude. I’ve been here before where they didn’t act like this, but if this is how security acts on busy nights when it’s cold out, he doesn’t get it. Also, if you don’t have a specific coat check area that you’re paying for, you can’t be mad that someone is walking to the coat check area. I was thankful to be leaving following this interaction. The security guard was unpleasant and made you feel extremely uncomfortable.
