To make it simple and easy, that was my favorite place for 2 yrs, ordering one single item: Smokey Habanero Chicken sandwich. Tonight things went south! wrong order twice, and an over cooked crispy chicken that you cant even chew. No worries mistake’s happens. Our lovely waitress decided to convince us that the order was wrong because we added a side dipping of honey garlic, well none of what she said was relative to the issue but still its fine, people can have a bad night at work. To make things even worse we were offered a discount of 4$ …. well I guess things went above and beyond our expectations!

Great brewery with an extensive patio, good selection of beers and excellent food. The buttermilk chicken sandwich is a must try when you visit. Inside is also super fun and worth checking out if you are looking for some fun vibes in the market.

This place is pure trash, we all sat down and found the drink menu displayed on the table, as we ordered our drinks and received them, the server gave us the food menu which only had 3 items.... we hadn’t touched our drinks yet because we wanted to wait for our food so that we don’t drink on a empty stomach, we proceeded to ask if we could leave, none of us wanted to dine here anymore but they informed us we had no choice but to pay (we received pitchers and hadn’t poured anything into our cups) I wish they would of let us know they didn’t have much food ahead of time... none of us will ever dine here again!!.

My girlfriend and I visited, great drinks. The GM (Jason) was very forward and gave off an unsettling vibe. This spoiled our experience and I will not return. Management staff creating an awkward, borderline creepy environment for guests is unacceptable and I would not recommend this place to anyone because of this.

August 30, 2020 An average experience. I ordered the summer salad, with brisket. The presentation was decent. However, the brisket was quite fatty, with not a lot of substantial meat. The cheese was an added bonus, but was overshadowed by the amount of nuts. The service was excellent.

My team and I organized an event and Jason, the GM, was wonderful! We had fruits, veggies, a salad bar and desserts lined up, buffet style, and some waiters passing around hot food all evening. The music was on, they have arcade games available, and we had the whole patio as well! There was a lot of food to go around, everything was clean & organized, and Jason communicated everything to us very well and allowed our group to stay a little longer. Phillis, the bartender, was also very helpful and professional, leading up to our event and the day of, along with the rest of the wait and kitchen staff. We'll definitely be hosting another event at Lowertown!

Hands down the place to watch football in Ottawa. Caught a few games here with some beer and nachos and I couldnt have asked for a better time. Good food and great service!

Nothing wrong with this meal, but nothing really stands out as exceptional except the price either. It is a tough economy for us all, no doubt, but eating out on an unmemorable experience like this one won't help stretch your dollars any further. Service was friendly and efficient, and atmosphere is fine. 43 bucks tip and tax in for a plate of pub grub and a lemonade is just not in my future plans.

Unfortunately we couldn't even enjoy the food, actually we couldn't get past the door. There was a please wait to be seated sign and no host. The people in front of us were tired of. Waiting (10 minutes) and decided to clean their own table. You might wonder how they got the cleaning rag and solution, well, they asked a "fellow server" who directed them to the cleaning supplies. They cleaned their table jokingly, and then cleaned and moved tables for the other group waiting. They then grabbed menus and utensils for themselves and the other group. Still no contact from the bartender standing watching all of this or the other two servers working. We waited around (only to get a good laugh at the couple who took hosting into their own hands) but after 15 minutes without even a hello, we left. Definitely under staffed, definitely need a manager on the floor. Hopefully you enjoy the food, if you can get in!

The service was great, our server was friendly and very attentive. We ordered the wings and the brisket and found both to be kind of dry and lacking in taste. When the restaurant started to get busier, it was very loud....we could barely hear each other. Apart from that, the restaurant is in a nice location.

Lowertown Brewery is a must-visit for anyone in the area. The nachos were delicious and the beer pitcher was the perfect size for us. The service was fantastic, our waitress was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere of the place was also great, really enjoyed our time there.

Terrible beer to match the terrible service. The place is a cool spot, with games to play while you drink a beer. However, there are no change machines to get coins for the games and the service is so bad, forget that as an option to get change. This would be whatever if it wasn't for the terrible terrible beer. Perhaps the worst beers I've had. If you're a seeker of craft beer and thinking of checking these beers out, don't bother.

Expected more from a brew pub. Brisket sandwich was dry, fries were not fresh cut and I’m assuming were under a heat lamp for some time as they were rock hard. Beer was meh.

Good enough place that serves your typical bar food. I went for the smoked meat brisket and chips. Both were very tasty and large servings, but it could have comes a bit hotter on the plate. I also had a home brew stout that was delicious. Atmosphere is cozy.

The new menu is nothing but a disappointment. This was one of our favorite places to go for an afterwork meal and drink but now it's become nothing but a mediocre restaurant with drinks as the rest of the market. Not a dining location at all, don't bother wasting your money on eating here. It's overpriced, unfilling, unsatisfactory and just plain bad. Fried fish I had was undercooked and served with a bland soupy substance they called sauce, my boyfriend's sandwich was tiny, and my little sister's chicken fingers were bad and tasteless. Don't get me wrong, it's not the worst restaurant experience it's just so sad to see how far they have fallen...

Unfortunately I had to leave this review in hopes the owner or manager takes the time to look at them. Upon arrival, we were seated quickly but that's where it went downhill. The restaurant was not busy as all and it took over 10 minute for someone to come and take our drink order as well as our dinner is order. Ordered meals, with some special requests. Dinner showed up a few minutes later without those requests met. Not a big deal, but when you ask for something not to be placed on a sandwich (in this case bacon) you'd expect that it would be done. Beyond that the salad dressing was absolutely disgusting (balsamic dressing) and the waiter never came back over to ask if we were enjoying our food. After all this, we sat and timed how long it would take for someone to come back and ask for for anything else or even if we wanted the bill. (30 minutes went by until we could flag down a different server) to request our bill. The cold draft from the front door being opened constantly just topped the evening off. Definitely will not be returning!

Very poor service... After receiving our food our waiter never came to check on us. When we were finished eating we waited for awhile and eventually had to get up, find out waiter and ask for our bill. Our waiter took his time by going to another table to chit chat.

The beef brisket basket was good, the smokiness in the flavor reminded me of camping which was sort of nostalgic. The staff were nice also 👌

Have been here a couple of times and always been happy, but recently had family visiting so we went here (3 adults and a toddler). Everything started fine nice seat on the patio and waited to be served. The place was not busy inside and a half full patio on a Saturday afternoon. We waited over 30mins and we weren't even acknowledged by our server, no waters, no I'll be with you in a moment just blatantly ignored. She continued to serve other tables around us and who were seated after us. We got up to leave and with two servers and a host nobody said anything. Unfortunately won't be back, also seems that they have stopped their kids menu (was no longer on the menu - but we didn't get a chance to ask) which is a pity as it was really good.

In town for work, and saw Lowertown looking very inviting and lively, so we checked it out. Food was great, great selection of house beer, and over the top friendly, attentive, service. Thanks again Jamie! You rock girl.

We were quickly seated on a busy Saturday and served cold refreshments, but the food was sub par. This restaurant certainly has the location advantage but there are better places around for food. The beer was good at least.

The patio and bar have a great "vibe". The service has always been great especially Chris (Always made sure drinks were full and allergy concerns were looked after). They're beers are really good lots of styles for whatever you're feeling, the cocktails are always delicious some are a little sweet but still really good. The food is really good and fairly priced for the portions size great for sharing and dates. Highly recommend

Myself and a couple friends popped in here last night for some drinks at the bar, and received fantastic service from the bartender with the red hair. I have dietary restrictions that don't allow me to have certain sugars, and she was very accommodating with modifying the drink recipes so that I could still enjoy a cocktail and not feel sick.

I found myself at lowertown on Wednesday night last week. I was with my two best friends Arash and Sajjid who were visiting from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. We were walking through the market and the asked me where to find the best local craft in the city. Without hesitation we popped over to Lowertown. Phyllis was our server and they were impressed with both the beers and the service. We finished off our night with a shot of tequila. Arash and Sajjid both remarked that they will definitely be sure to return to Lowertown next time they are visiting the capital.

Jamie is phenomenal. She was very attentive despite how busy they were. Very helpful and accommodating. Star employee! Our table for 6 was ready upon arrival and the experience was great from start to finish both times I've been here. The poutine is really nice with fresh scallions, jalapeño and cheese.

One of our favorite spots in Ottawa. Get yourself a pretzel. They’re delicious! Great indoor atmosphere, outdoor seating and friendly servers. Lots to see on the patio if you sit along the street. Good selection of drinks including beer pairings and fishbowls. The food is excellent and the portions are huge, including the poutine, nachos and sandwiches.

Awesome brewery! Kay at the bar took fantastic care of us. I was unsure at first, even petrified, thinking “how would I choose from so many amazing beers.” But Kay took my hand, guided me. She made me feel whole. Also. The Gold beer was great. Medium body, just right with the Poutine.

We went here for our anniversary dinner. Our server was great and food was great too. However, I was disappointed when the manager did not honour CFOne military discount even though Lowertown Brewery is one of the restaurants listed for discounted meal price for military members.

Came in on Saturday with some friends for dinner and we sat on the patio and it was really nice to see how busy it was and how many people were enjoying their night out. Atmosphere was definitely one of good spirit. Our server Taylor gave us great service she was very attentive and very friendly. We got the raspberry wheat beer and it was great too. We will be back for sure again soon!

Stopped by while I was in Ottawa visiting, service was fast. I had an amazing server Phyllis who recommended the pulled pork nachos. What an amazing suggestion! We enormously enjoyed them. She made us feel very welcomed, the service she provided was exceptional! Would definitely eat here again!

Went here for supper with 10-12 of my colleagues. Didn’t appear to be busy. Can only say it was a catastrophic failure. Many of us literally waited 45 minutes for a first beer. Had to chase waitress down to take orders after sitting dor 20 minutes then beers came out 25 minutes later. Some only received their drinks after their meal was almost done. Ended being 2.5 hour ordeal for a mediocre pizza and warm beer. The bathrooms are disgusting. Service was terrible. I am not sure how this place keeps its doors open. I don’t expect that it will be open by the next time we come to Ottawa for business.

Typical tourist bar trap with pub grub. Ordered poutine with brisket. Waitress forgot brisket and brought to the table after complaining. Offered a verbal apology. Waitress was friendly. $22 poutine and brisket had a salty corporate taste without flavor or style. Would not recommend or return.

Was there today with my family and we enjoyed our time there as it’s a kid friendly restaurant, which we very much appreciated as we had our 2 year old child with us. I usually don’t write reviews, but I felt like I had to write something given there was food items missing on the menu regarding the nachos (have no idea if that’s the case with other items in the menu). One of us has a severe intolerance to black beans and it wasn’t on the items list for nachos on the menu. Usually, we simply don’t order a meal if we see that there’s black beans in them. We also could’ve told the server that we had food sensitivities to black beans… but we didn’t given it seemed like a pretty detailed menu. Anyway, we noticed black beans in the plate was brought to our table, and they everywhere. The server was extra helpful and very nice and offered to have a new plate made. I just thought I’d give our readers a heads up to let te sever know if they have food sensitivities and who it may concern that work there to please have a detailed menu for people like us who have food sensitivities. Thank you! :)

Just got back from this place and was too excited not to write this review! I've tried a lot of burgers in my life and this one was one of the best! The double burger was so good. You bite into this burger and immediately feel the different style bun it's light and fluffy(seemed homemade) and can absorb the juices of the burger without falling apart! As you continue to bite down you get the taste of fresh romaine lettuce, tomato, and pickles. As the bite continues, you start to taste the two very well seasoned smash patties of beef and feel the juices of the burger explode with the bite! Finally as you get down to the bottom of the burger you taste the homemade house sauce (which really complements the whole thing)! Your bite ends with the bottom part of the homemade fluffy light bottom of the bun and it really brings the entire bite together! I hope to go back again soon and have a similar experience! The burger is messy and it's delicious... It's the way a burger should be! Caesar Salad was fresh, had real bacon, parmesan cheese, and a small amount of dressing which I really enjoyed! Waitress was very friendly and the patio was nice and lit. There were lots of people around drinking and enjoying their Friday night which enhanced the patio environment!

My overall experience was good. The food had some good taste altho it lacked some essentials for a burger. I cannot say that my friend had the same experience... she had ordered fish and chips and had fell ill quite quickly. There are more than 250 different types of food poisoning that can all happen at different rates and are all varied based on the persons age, gender and overall health. Assuming that food poisoning cant happen at fast rates is very wrong. Not to mention trying to charge your customer for the food that they had fallen ill to is just unacceptable...Food poisoning is serious and should be investigated further and not brushed aside as the managers did here in one of there responses to the review my friend had left. I as someone who has worked in the food industry for a while would recommend you do a further investigation on what could have happened and make sure that all employees are washing hands, washing food and maintaining a clean cooking environment.

Food is always good but they need to be more consistent with service. Tonight, I couldn't believe they were out of 2 meats. No excuse for that, but worse when you give customer menu and then when they order tell them sorry but don't have those. Customer service 101 here. Beer is always on point.

(Translated by Google) We had a steak sandwich, the worst of our life, just inedible fat. The fries were pretty good though but at $ 20 for fries as we didn't eat the sandwich it was stealing. I want to point out that I told the waitress that the sandwich was inedible but nothing changed it was loaded to me anyway. Another mention a beer tablet in addition we can say that this restaurant is to be avoided at all costs.

When you visit Ottawa, you should visit Loweryown Brewery and try beef brisket sandwich. There are many option to choose for beer. If you are an ale lover, I highly recommend bytown brown ale. Their fries are also 5 star but the sandwich is 6 stars at least. Best beef brisket I have ever eaten.

The service was good but i got a piece of sandwich with only fat in it, it was supposed to be a steak. Quality of fries was pretty bad, i was expecting something better than what i got. For the price, that's not the best place to go. The bread with the sandwich was exactly the same from Tim Horton's, disgusting.

I seriously love this place❤️ Can't wait for things to get back to normal so we can have live entertainment here like they normally have on. Great place to grab drinks with friends or take someone for a date. Love the vibes here and have never had a bad experience going here. The food is great and their choice of drinks is perfect! Definitely worth the trip.

My wife and I visited last night when we arrived in Ottawa and did not have any of the negative experiences listed in these other reviews. We arrived at 10PM and it wasn't busy. We were seated immediately and no wait for drinks or food. We had the Coffee BBQ wings, fries and fish tacos which we thought were great (the fish didn't make us sick, and there were definitely more than 3 items on the menu, both of which others have posted in their review). Our server was fantastic. Location had a good vibe and we thought the beer was tasty (I was drinking the El Camino). Giving 4 stars only because we didn't visit during a busy night to confirm the reviews on slow, poor service to be true. However, based on our night we would certainly visit again.

My boyfriend and I went on the patio to enjoy a nice dinner and beers. The service was great, but the food was really disappointing. The beef brisket was super hard to chew, almost impossible to eat. My boyfriend had the burger and he had food poisoning. He got sick a couple of minutes after. The waiter gave us free beers to apologize, but even then I would never recommend to go to that place. Don't waste your time, it's not worth it.

SERVICE=VERY GOOD DRINKS =GOOD FOOD=DISAPPOINTING AT BEST FIRST TIME VISITOR TO THE LTB I ORDERED PORK BELLY WHICH CONTAINED EXACTLY 3 SMALL SLICES OF COLD OVERLY DEEP FRIED BACON (YES I KNOW IT IS TECHNICALLY PORK BELLY BUT SERIOUSLY CALL IT WHAT IT IS, BACON AND THIS IS A BLT SANDWICH), 2 SLICES OF WAFER THIN NON SMOKED GOOD OLE REGULAR TOMATO AND A NON IDENTIFIABLE TABLESPOON OVER THE ENTIRE SANDWICH OF ROMAIN LETTUCE NOT BOSTON LETTUCE, THE CREMA WAS LIFELESS AND THE BUN COULD HAVE BEEN A FEW DAYS OLD. THE KETTLE CHIPS ARE PRE MADE SOMETIME THAT DAY PRESUMABLY AND SOMEWHAT STALE REGULAR POTATO CHIPS WITH A MONTREAL STYLE STEAK SPICE CONCOCTION SMOTHERING THEM AND NOT REALLY TO MY LIKING. I THOUGHT I RECEIVED THE WRONG ORDER IT WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO WHAT I EXPECTED BASED ON THEIR WEBSITE PHOTOS OF PLATES OR AS DESCRIBED ON THE MENU FOR $17.00. I HAVE HAD MUCH BETTER BLT'S AT DIVE DINERS FOR ½ THE PRICE WE WONT BE RETURNING THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY BETTER FOOD OPTIONS ON A FRIDAY NIGHT IN THE MARKET FOR THOSE PRICES QUANTITY AND QUALITY AND FRANKLY EVERYONE OFFERS MICRO BREWS TODAY.

Stopped in for a beer after a full day of playing tourist. Always excited by a great brew-pub. Was encouraged by atmosphere, very personable server and the availability of flights. Unfortunately.... Between us we tried 6 different beers from stout and IPA to a wheat. Sadly there was a sameness in the flavour of all of them. Very unremarkable beer. Didn't try the food this trip but not likely to return.

had a meal at lower town and have mixed reviews. I had a smoked meat sandwich which was very good. it came with fries or a salad both being great options. my girlfriend however ordered a pork belly sandwich on which the "pork belly" was extremely thinly cut (about as thick as a piece of back bacon) and was also well overcooked the other topping proved to be equally as disappointing and seemed very bottom of the barrel. we chose to stay for the live music on the north of Nashville night at which point the bartender grossly over served my girlfriend (in an attempt to get with her) with quadruples when she asked for singles causing all sorts of misery throughout the night. Food was great, excellent service. Beer was fantastic. We weren't here on a game night, but looks like it would be an awesome place to go. Nice and big and roomy, big screens everywhere, nice and new and clean, but still warm with a fun atmosphere.ice and close to hotels and right in the market so easy to get to and find parking or to get to from transit.

(Translated by Google) Super Ambiance. Very good entry and tasting. I recommend it for more than a year. I went back to discover it to other friend today (Original) Super Ambiance. Très bonne entré et dégustation. Je le recommande depuis déjà plus d'un 1 an. j'y suis retourné le faire découvrir à d'autre ami aujourd'hui

Great house brews and an awesome pie! Dude at the balcony was very attentive. Atmosphere at the Lowertown was very welcoming.

Good food. Stay away from the smokey beer. It tastes like hot dog water, or weird smoked sausage. Short staffed for service on Saturday night. Needs a couple more waitresses/waiters.

My girlfriend and I love this place. Great beer and delicious food. Its turned into our favourite place to eat when we are in the Byward Market. The only negative is sometimes they are understaffed on busy patio days, but the staff that is there also handles it well.
