Stopped by on a warm day. Had a session IPA and a vegan burger (by leaving off the sour cream of a vegetarian burger). Craft beers on tap and in cans/bottles. Tables are partitioned. Vintage décor. Good, prompt and pleasant service - my waiter was excellent.

Walked in as a party of eight. The assistant manager served us and was extremely friendly, accommodating, and pleasant. She has a great knowledge of the food as for my families dietary requirements. Let me tell you, the fish and chips was the best if everything had. It wasn't too doughy, wasn't over or under cooked, was perfectly done. The burgers were amazingly flavourful. Meals we're decently priced for the trendy area. The seating and decor were unique and relatively comfortable. The washrooms were clean. There is free wifi with the password provided by staff. I believe it's the address and a name, which slips my mind right now. I'll definitely go back.

Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Love the atmosphere. I had the bacon and eggs. Came with a side salad, the dressing was lackluster like oil and salt and pepper. Everything was a little overdone. Others had the waffles, they were way overdone but the flavor was there. We joked at one point and started banging their waffle on the plate. A little pricey but its expected for the location. This place has potential, I'd be back for a pint.

My bf and I ducked into the HPH for a quick nosh and were delighted to discover a whole non-alcoholic bevvie menu! My bf went with a virgin Mule and I tried my first Partake NA beer while we picked away at a snack board (meat, cheese, crackers, pickles, etc). We'll be back!

Absolutely fantastic service and great food. When's the last time you had housemade ketchup? Or bread baked in store? Fresh, quality food. Definitely recommend when visiting Ottawa!

Had a delicious Hamburger and side salad last night! Everything was flavourful, fresh, and well cooked! Love the beer selection as well - Friendly, attentive staff! I stole a few fries from my dinner mate - the fries seemed fresh cut and served with delicious home made ketchup!

🍴If it's your first time at The Hintonburg Public House (like us) & can't decide what to get, I would highly recommend their Newfoundland Cod Cakes to start, & their Polenta & Sausage as your main (they also have Vegetarian Polenta for a non-meat alternative). Very delicious meal and great service!

Great atmosphere, great beer selection, delicious house made veggie burger which make a veggie feel loved (not just lettuce and tomato) - great arugula and pickled ginger and creme fraishe. Only let down was the fries - the oil seems a bit old so the fries tasted burned even though they weren’t burned. Thanks for the great service guys - I’d recommend to anyone.

Loved this little local pub in Hintonburg, I wish lived closer, this would be my local. Very interesting decor, great service from the very friendly staff, and the food was great. They have a decent selection of local brews to choose from, or cocktails if you prefer. Recommended for a cozy afternoon or evening.

You know it's epic!!! Went to see the art and stayed for a full-blown meal cause of the ambiance. Waiter made it 400% better experience. Cool dude. Bilingual.

Went on a quiet evening. Server was lovely, menu isn't huge but the food was delicious! Don't let the "grilled cheese" fool you into thinking small and plain - it's a delightful monster of a sandwich! Kind of bizarre that they are channeling my dead father to put together their music playlist, but hey the old man had good taste so it's not a complaint!

Really enjoyed my dinner at the Hintonburg Public House. Interesting restaurant with lots of character. I had the Smokie (sausage) and although it wasn’t completely filling, it had great flavour. Finished off with the two dessert options that were fabulous. Will definitely be back for another meal here.

Affordable food, fresh ingredients. Got the Quinoa bowl and coffee. Was surprised to find a bowl at a proper side down place for $12! And my $2.50 coffee was refilled many times! Service was great, servers looked happy and the place has good vibes.

Great location, with lots of people watching! It was very nice to sit outside and enjoy the neighbourhood. The person who served our food was wonderful and friendly. Our food was delicious and drinks were great. Thank you!

Went for dinner on Thursday, I had the burger and fries and they had the grilled cheese. It was lightly toasted at best, therefore not having that desired crispy crunch. The burger patty was lost in the massive bun, but was delicious once I found it. Wonderful fries with great dipping options. Loved the decor, but felt squish in like sardines. Might try one of their take home options next time so I can hear the person I'm talking to while I eat.

Menu is really not user friendly. You have to scan the QR code and the website is just very poorly laid out, super hard to read. Seems like all the words just blend in together. Got the Huevos Rancheros and honestly super dissapointed. Serving size was TINY for the cost, the food had essentially no seasoning, the corn tortillas are beneath all of the other food so it just gets soggy because they're not covered by refried beans which is how it is typically supposed to be. Just not worth the money at all imo.

Good local pub. Small, often busy. Good food. The only downside was only two servers being run off their feet and taking a long time to do stuff like bring our bill.

I have eaten at the hintonburg before and this time i was very disappointed. As a local, i was looking for a good alternative to the third but i am sadden to say this was very disappointing. Salad that was basically just oil, the wrong size, staff as it was a frist day i understand not knowing the menu off the bat but shadowing definitely should be offered as they seemed very lost. As a restaurant worker i understand that service isn't always perfect. And front of house is great. I would recommend skipping lunch service and just come for the late night atmosphere its alot more consistent.

Really nice brunch spot with cute oddities and art about the place. Staff was lovely, had a yummy meal before setting out back to Toronto. Such a cozy spot for a meal on a rainy day. Lots of things to look at and clearly a place run with care and personality.

*actually rated around 3.5/5* We stopped by HPH mainly for their outdoor patio, which is a great spot to people watch! The beer was lovely and our server was excellent at checking in! We ordered fries and they weren’t great… the ketchup and the aioli both tasted funny, and the fries were a little cold in the middle. Overall, not a bad spot for drinks, especially if you want a patio right on Wellington!

Great pub. Great drink selection and service. I did not eat while I was there this time but I recall the food being excellent when I was there a few years ago and lots of people were there for dinner when my wife and I came for drinks. Nice place to stop for a drink when you are out exploring the area or shopping.

I had Huevos Rancheros for brunch with a group of friends. Food was good and service was excellent. Will try other food and drinks in the menu next time.

Came here for brunch when our first choice for breakfast had too long of a wait. Nice and friendly staff. They make their own ketchup and garlic aioli which was very good. Burger was good, probably cooked a tad bit too long but still was good. I'd come back.

Relaxed, casual pub with quirky decor, and a brunch menu on weekends. A non-alcohol cocktail menu is available. Service is always friendly in my experience. Note that they can accommodate a group of about 10 people at a large table in the back.

Honestly the restaurant had a fun vibe, a f the server was very friendly and kind, but it was freezing cold the whole time. We all felt we needed to wear our jackets and our feet were cold the whole time - we were in the back of the restaurant as well. The food was all very bland sadly, I was really excited for the burger and the cheese curds but all of it packed flavour and creativity. Honestly would not recommend someone to come here, unless my experience was a fluke and normally the food is seasoned better.

I had a craving for a burger and a few people suggested I try this place. I was so disappointed. After tax I paid over $20 for a very small burger. It was nothing like the photo I saw on the menu/website. For the price I paid I didn't even get very many fries. A side note- I ordered for delivery and didn't think I'd have to ask for condiments like ketchup & mustard. (lesson learned) It was a very plain burger and not at all like I read in the reviews and from people who suggested this place. Waste of my money. I wish I had taken a photo so people could see what I mean. (I just read another review about how this place makes their own ketchup??? I guess I did really miss out.. jeez)

This place should be rated higher. 4.5 easily just from my first experience. I had the brunch and it was perfect. The mimosas were actually great! And the handmade bread was perfect. It’s also very cute.

Went for brunch today, very tasty and nice presentation, you could tell alot of care went into each component on the plate

I was disappointed in the menu. Not too many entre options. Definitely pub fare style. Burgars and poutine. That said enjoyed the halloumi and salad. Jeremy our server was very pleasant. Nice inside.

Confused by all the good reviews. I think people who love this place are more fans of the vibe/hanging out with the regulars than they are of the food itself. The restaurant itself was not very clean when I went. Our table was sticky and the whole place smelled strange and musty. The food I ordered was ice cold, stale, and completely and utterly tasteless. To top it off, it's very overpriced and the servers were very hands-off. The only person I know who likes the food here is a heavy smoker so I don't really trust her taste buds. Go to Bar Lupulus instead, or if you want a drink go to 10Fourteen.
