Some of the best tacos I've ever had. Pig head taco is a must. Cocktails are also real zingers, got the El Fuego and they don't lie. It's spicy in the best way possible. Also the staff LOVE dogs, and dog lovers are alright in my book.

Love love love this place. All the food we tried was really amazing. It was my first time being here. I personally had the pork belly pastor and the crispy fish Tacos. As an added bonus there was a pinball machine, (right next to my table), that combined with some great tunes enabled me to show my kids how much I rock at pinball. Lol I will definitely come back and most assuredly recommend this restaurant. Kudos to you!!!

Drove from Manotick, found a parking spot a km away, walk there, arrive at 20:30 to find out they aren’t selling tacos! 830pm and because the kitchen had 5 tables they were “swamped” so we were offered to sit and have chips and guac. Sounds like we could have saved the 45 min drive each way and stayed at home to eat chips and dip. I’m sure there’s some capable cooks looking for employment that can handle a few extra orders.

Great cocktails, delicious tacos, vibrant atmosphere. Each taco is unique, tasty and made with fresh ingredients. Perfect place to share a meal with friends. We greatly enjoy both locations.

My friends & I went on a taco tour around Ottawa this last Saturday and made sure to try this location. The server was super friendly & very helpful regarding the menu. & the overall service was pretty quick for a busy Saturday night. However, as someone with a gluten (& dairy) allergy I was pretty disappointed in my lack of options. I choose to do a taco tour as it’s normally one of the most allergen friendly meals but of all the places (6) we tried, El Camino was the only place without corn shells of any kind. I was given a lettuce wrap with only two filling choices to accommodate the allergy. Considering the price, I’d go back for the guac and drinks, but id leave out the tacos.

Got a take-out order. The food was ready at perfect timimg. I got chorizo crispy, cochinita and ox tonge tacos, which are so yummy, tasty, juicy, full of flavour. I love the ox tonge tacos most. Their chip with salsa sauce is good also!

Excellent meal. Has consistently kept up great quality, interesting and delicious tacos since I started coming in 2016. The churros are incredible, the corn was made perfectly. The crispy fish tacos are always excellent and I really enjoyed the ox tongue. Great service and drinks too.

Food is really good but definitely overpriced. I understand that the area is full of tourists so yes the price inflation makes sense. But the menu is very limited. $15 for chips and guac, while the chips and salsa is only $7. I wish they had the option to have both guac and salsa. The fish tacos were really good, everything tasted really fresh.

Came here from Toronto, I was recommended to come here by a few people and their tacos did not disappointed! Got nearly every taco and had a tough time deciding which one I liked the most, they were all very unique and delicious. The one that jumped out the most to me is their ox tongue taco, it's got a smoky flavour to it and great texture. Ordered take out and went across the street to eat at the park, great offerings and location overall!

Great margaritas! The guac is a must always and the tacos were great! Unfortunately this was during COVID and they weren’t able to serve their prawn betas leaf dish but IT IS THE BEST (included a pic from one of my many other visits)!

Their ox tongue and fish tacos used to be my absolute favorites. However, the taste has not been as enjoyable as it used to be recently. their guacamole and chips continue to impress with exceptional flavors. The margaritas deserve a perfect 5 out of 5 rating for their outstanding quality. Poor customer service.

The food is good, tasty as well as well plated, if you order tacos one at a time. I had the fish, the beef, and the chicken taco. I was recommended the fish and I was told ox tongue is popular however also expensive at 9$! The tacos were good but you're probably better off going to a cheaper place and sacrificing quality a bit. The thing I like about the food is the toppings (honestly the fresh avocado probably hikes the price up but it's tasty). The place also has a great atmosphere. The building is open concept. There are lots of young people and there's a bar. Good ambiance.

Highly recommend - ox tongue taco - fish taco - eggplants taco Pig-head and chorizo are also worth to try! Normally two of them fill me up. I literally tried all the menu since I love this place. It's one of my go to restaurant for the feeling lazy for cooking day. Frankly a bit pricy, but worth it to go. No parking. Reservation recommend for the weekend dinner time. They open cute patio in summer.

The tacos taste good but it gets pricey to pay $6-7 for one and you need to eat 3 or 4 to get full. The crispy fish taco was my favourite. The beef barbacoa tacos were lacking meat. As you can see from the picture, they were barely filled.

It’s not a lowkey, date night spot; the music is loud and the atmosphere is very lively. Food tastes as good as the other location. Their prices have increased (probably due to covid). 1 taco now costs around 8$ after tax. The place also seemed understaffed on a Saturday night. Our server was stressed and gave us a lot of attitude when we had a request which made the experience worse. We waited a long time for 6 tacos. I’ll be looking for similar restaurants with more affordable prices and kinder service.

Had a wonderful meal here last night, with our 6-month old baby. The staff were incredibly accommodating, and provided prompt, friendly service. We thoroughly enjoyed the fish, pork belly, pig’s head, beef, cauliflower, and chicken tacos. Each taco is loaded with the protein/filling of choice, making them well worth the price per. The flavours were all spot on, and well balanced. My only qualm would be flour over corn tortillas, but in this case they were nice and soft, not chewy, and did the trick nicely. We finished the meal off with an order of churros, which were fried perfectly (super crispy on the outside, soft on the inside) and complimented with a lovely, warm caramel. The decor was really cool and atmosphere was great for a Saturday night out.

Nice tacos but the service is TERRIBLE!!!!!!! Take very long time in bringing you the food. There's a lot of people serving but none working properly! Better go to other place otherwise you will be waiting for hours...

The chicken tacos are the best! I love my experience here everytime, our server was so awesome and friendly. Planned to stay for dinner but the atmosphere rocked so we stayed almost all night! Great experience love going there. Check out @carinadventures for more pictures

I like to go to the taco truck around the pack of the restaurant for outdoor seating. At night there are lights and music playing. The tables are tucked away in a parking lot with bushes and a tent blocking the road, which creates a cozy atmosphere alongside the lights strung above the tables. You can order your food and pay ahead of time, so you can just leave when you are done. My favourite taco is the pig's head which has beautifully charred meat, and I am a big fan of the Mexican corn on the cob as well. The cocktails are about $15 each, but the margaritas have 3 oz of tequila, which makes that quite reasonable. The wait can be slow when it is very busy, but the cocktails are made to order right away and the food is delivered to your table when it is ready. The tacos are made in the restaurant, so the queue includes those patrons too. The outdoor seating is the perfect way to casually spend a beautiful evening hanging out and enjoying tasty food with friends.

Really nice place, busy, great ambiance, nice staff, quick and they are able to modify two/three options to be vegan! Such a win, tasty, and if you like spicy you won't be disappointed.

Food is good, service is good. Was expecting a Mexican coke but it was out of stock which is a bit disappointed. The salsa was delicious as well. Overall I think it’s a good restaurant/ bar, the only thing I think it can improve is the price or portion.

Had a lovely experience at El Camino. Food was really good. We ordered the cauliflower and eggplant tacos. It was really flavorful. We also ordered the shiitake mushroom and poblano skewers, although it was great the quantity was pretty less for what you pay. All in all, I would highly recommend this place.

  • 4/5 Alvin V. 1 year ago on Google
Delicious taco with plenty of options to suit the different tastebud and tongue preference. The crispy taco was definitely a hit, really liked the one with chorizo filling. The regular taco was also great, and has some more adventurous option like ox tongue (although this one wasn’t really our table’s favourite). The pork belly pastor (with pineapple topping) is a must-try item!

  • 5/5 賴聖暉 1 year ago on Google
The tacos were amazing! There were so many different kinds of taco, I would love to try each of them. The ingredients were fresh and healthy, service was great. Highly recommend to people who want to try Mexican food.

Such a unique underground ambience vibe to the restaurant. Tacos were tasty, the calamari was very good, the churros were very moist with a nice crisp. we tried the house lager on tap, it was very interesting with the salt rim. The price for 1x taco was a little on the pricey side. The chorizo, pork belly and fish tacos were delicious. We tired the tartare taco it was interesting but wasn’t a favourite. Service was good and food came out fast.

Busy place! Delicious tacos and cocktails. Really creative flavours. Fun atmosphere. Didn’t like the communal serving style of putting all the tacos the table ordered on the same two plates. Had to figure out which tacos were which, and who they were for. Pretty expensive.

I went to El Caminos yesterday for a friends birthday. I am 5 months pregnant and requested a booth since it’s problematic for me to use their high top seating. They said no, I sat uncomfortably in their high top chairs, barley fitting in them the entire night. The first round of Taccos took nearly 25 minutes to get to us. My husband ordered a lemonade and that took 15 minutes to get to us. No parking. The music was so loud I couldn’t communicate with my friends. The bathrooms are not pregnant friendly, very small. The food was good although my husband and I got sick from their beef Taccos. All and all - it’s fun for a younger, nimble crowed. I wouldn’t say it’s a great time for people who want to enjoy their company and be comfortable sitting.

I enjoyed the fish taco and spicy Margherita. The guacamole and chip appetizer was great, super fresh and delicious. But I didn’t like the chorizo taco. The flavor wasn’t great, there was an odd aftertaste and the dressings reminded me of homemade tacos, there was nothing exciting or unique. Another pain point is that the tacos didn’t come out together. I received all my food while the other person with me had no food. It took so long for the her food to arrive that I had to choose between being polite and eating cold pricey tacos or eating in my very hungry guest’s face. At a table for two, it shouldn’t be really hard to time getting the food at the table at the same time. They also don’t take reservations which is pretty annoying. Having lived in Toronto, I understand the “hype” of these types of places and why they don’t do reservations etc., but it’s an added nuisance, especially during bad weather.

This place has some amazing food choices and even later at night. Get the salad and prawns and skip the typical tacos. You won't regret the taste sensations from this combo! So delicious! Remember to add the dressing to your plate from the salad as it makes the dish.

Absolutely delicious. I am not a veggie taco guy but there cauliflower taco definitely changed my perspective, I would eat that again. For drinks we got the El fumigo(spicy chilly drink) and wow I would come back just for that drink, it definitely had a kick to it. Loved the place, would highly recommend it

If you're hungry you'd better also be rich. For the prices I was expecting these to be substantial tacos. They're barely appetizer sized. 3 tacos and 2 beers ran me $60. The food was good but it wasn't even close to worth the price. Not sure what they're spending the money on but it isn't the decor or staff training.

  • 4/5 Julia W. 7 months ago on Google
Taste of food was amazing but fish tacos were not crispy. Friendly staff 100%. Cute little tiny place but wish there were more space in between tables

  • 5/5 Zach G. 3 years ago on Google
The food and drinks there are great! They have authentic food with a little bit of a twist, which is very cool and delicious. The staff there are extremely friendly and we’re always quick to take our order. Everyone there was following proper COVID-19 protocols. As we left the staff from both the front of house and kitchen were thanking us for the business. It was a very pleasant experience and would recommend to anyone who is looking to have some good food.

Artisan tacos and unique cocktails, El Camino is a sure-fire spot for a night out. The prices of their tacos have gone up by a couple bucks over the years but the ox-tongue taco will always be worth it! If you are looking for a late-night bite, swing-by the take-out window at their Elgin location with some cash and you will not be disappointed.

Good initiative to add cauliflower taco to the menu.. one more veggie option is great to have.. The cauliflower taco should have been cut a bit smaller for easier eating as well as better coating of the sauce.

  • 5/5 Jason M. 3 years ago on Google
The food was amazing, right now they also have a space in the back to eat outdoors (big closed wall tent) that was sorta heated from the food truck. Lots of room and good for a date

Traveled to Ottawa for business, and was recommended from a friend to check this place out. Have been about 6 times since. Expensive, but so worth it. "Pig Head" and fish tacos are to die for. Staff is great. Environment is lovely. Recommend making a reservation if you're attending near dinner time as this place gets extremely busy, and lined up out the door.

  • 5/5 Lin H. 3 years ago on Google
I love the ambiance here. The food is not bad either at the given price, but you can get a better, more authentic experience somewhere else if you’re looking for a premium experience. But since everyone likes hanging out here, you’ll probably have a good time.

EL Camino is by far the best taco bar anyone can ever go to. Everything is fresh and the staff are amazing it is a must go to if anyone wants to have a night out.. even during the pandemic they go above and beyond to give their clients an enjoyable night and make sure they feel safe while doing so. By far my favourite spot and would suggest going to this place at any point in anyone's life! I'll be there again soon

Great for artisan tacos. I used to be a fan of this place when they first opened but they’ve increased their price a lot since then ($7 per taco roughly) I tried to dine here a few days ago and found out that they do not take takeout orders at the window anymore. You have to order off the website. And “the menu is on the website”. I was given a paper menu when asked though so that’s good! The online ordering system is not done well (obviously, no notifications -only confirmation email when order has gone through, but no email on when to pick up. You tell them when you want to pick up) I might be hazy on THESE details though because we couldn’t get that far, while ordering off our phones IN FRONT OF THE RESTAURANT because the website wouldn’t let us pay for our orders. Spent 15 minutes trying to order The tacos ARE tasty - but not for $7 each, and especially when the logistics are bad (especially during covid times).
