Fantastic food, service and atmosphere all come together to make Petit Bill’s one of Ottawa’s great dining experiences! My wife and I came to try their Newfoundland dinner event and we were not disappointed. Each of the courses we chose had its own unique flavour that was somehow nostalgic and homey, despite neither of us being from the region. It was clear that each element was chosen to add a certain depth of flavour to the dishes. The standouts for us were the seafood chowder, cod fritters, Jiggs dinner (as pictured), and the apple crumble for dessert. The apple crumble alone is something we both agreed we would enthusiastically come back for in the future. It was baked perfectly, so that the apple still had some tartness to it, while also taking on a delicious, buttery texture. The crumble had an excellent crispiness to it while still instantly melting in your mouth with every bite. The apple crumble is not a regular menu item, but now we really wish that it was, so we could have it more often! We really loved our time here at Petit Bill’s, and we will definitely be returning in the future to try more of their regular menu.

Great food. Excellent staff. We had the seafood chowder, scallops and duck with carrot cake for dessert. The chowder was tasty with a Sriracha buttered bread. The scallops were okay but we expected a better dear, and honestly would have like 6 of them for the price. The confit duck was amazing and we got 2 legs which was really filling. The carrot cake was excellent with a great caramel drizzle on the plate. First time here, will definitely return to try more menu items.

Delicious short rib! Super tender and tasty. The burger is also fantastic, and the fries too. Great Gin, bourbon cocktails too. Definitely going back again

The service was great. All three of us started with a seafood chowder, which was excellent. Then we ordered Beef Short Ribs and Arctic Char. The beef was a little chewy. The Arctic Char was good, however the risotto under the fish tasted very bland. The lunch for the three of us cost $177 plus 20% gratuity. I thought it was on the expensive side considering the quality of food and we didn’t order any alcoholic beverages.

Just had the most amazing evening here, served by the lovely Erika but looked after by the whole restaurant; the cocktails, wine, appetizer, entree and dessert were so wonderful. It is fine dining quality in a cozy & comfortable atmosphere, I could come here for any occasion or just for another order of the short rib.

Great meal and service in a beautiful location.  I especially enjoyed: + Lobster poutine:  They used an amazing savoury white sauce and perfectly cooked shoe-string fries. + Arctic char on a bed of risotto, balanced flavours well executed fish and risotto. It also presented really nicely. Favorite dessert was bread-pudding paired with a creme anglaise. It had nice balance of sweetness and great texture contrasts: crispy edges with creamy/soft center. Delicious. Since it was easy to talk over dinner it would make a great place to celebrate a birthday or team milestone with a special meal. Highly recommend.

Went to Petit Bill's Bistro for a date night. It was a cozy spot. The service was very friendly and helpful. The menu was varied and there were several items that caught my eye. Ordered some basic cocktails which were well-presented. The soup of the day was fantastic. The Chorizo appetizer was half a sausage with a few trace side elements. It was okay but too little food for the cost. Mains selected were the Prime Rib and Tuna. The prime rib was excellent. a 10/10. The tuna was tasty itself but accompanying udon noodle lacked vegetables, flavor and crunch. The mains lacked vegetables overall. I would have been happy with a smaller portion of prime rib and more veggies. dessert was a lemon curd cheesecake which was good but not spectacular. I would try Petit Bill's again . My date not so much.

One of our favorite restaurants in Ottawa hands down. Great staff, great drinks, amazing food! The owner greets you and remembers you when you come back. Can't say enough good things about this place. Worth every penny.

Both food and experience were perfect. For appetizer we had caesar salad and lobster poutine, and for main dish we had Bill's burger and beef short rib. I have to say that all the dishes were amazing. Anna who was responsible for our table was very professional, nice and pleasant. We were celebrating an event, and this place was definitely a perfect place to go for a joyful evening. I definitely recommend this place to every one.

We love Petit Bills. They have good food (especially the Clam Chowder) and know how to make a great Martini! We celebrated an anniversary there and they treated us like gold. We look forward to going back many more times.

I was driving through the Ottawa neighborhood of Westboro and this Bistro caught my eye with their Newfoundland flag in the window. Popped in for some take out and was pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere and menu. Ordered my Vodka Cesar while I waited for my order of Deep Fried Oysters and Lobster Wontons. Cesar was a 7.3/10. A touch on the saltier side than I like but not bad by any stretch. Oysters and lobster were really good. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend.

We were visiting from out of town and are so happy we found this restaurant. The service was great, everyone loved the food and who we assume were the owners checked on us to make sure everything was top notch. Recommend for sure!

What a hidden gem in Ottawa! From the minute you walk in to the minute you leave you have the best service. The food was incredibly delicious, you can tell how much thought and effort goes into their cooking. Our waitress was amazing! So impressed, highly recommend!

Great service and fantastic fish and chips, the best I've had in years. Light tasty batter. Will definitely be going back. Oh and the chips were great too and a sizeable portion I got a buttered bun to make a chip butty it was lovely.

NL vibes off the chart! <3 This is a very nice date spot. Whiskey selection is very flavoured while classic, served by highly knowledgeable gentlemen. Will strongly recommend for a cozy but elegant night ~

The place is a little bit pricey but really worth it. Amazing selection of drinks, cocktail was great! For food we had the mussels as an app and both had fish and chips. The fish were really good and fresh along with a light yet crispy batter. Exactly what you want out of fish and chips. Staff was also really nice and present. Recommend for a cute date night :)

We went there with our 2 young sons on a Tuesday night. Very welcoming staff, the owner came a few times himself to check on us, they were very nice with the kids and they even had a kid portion of the fish and chips (amazing by the way). Food was excellent, service was fast. Starters were on the small side but entrees were pretty generous. Very nice family night out!

Why we don’t talk about this place with the city’s best is beyond me. Service is impeccable, the owners check every meal x the culinary team is putting out high end food and the cocktails and wine list compete with anybody (even a mocktail list) it’s a never miss experience

. Service was very friendly they made all efforts to adhere to Covid safety guidelines without being intrusive. Food was excellently presented. No blaring TVs. Not another sports bar. A nice quiet Bistro. Great spot to share an evening with friends.

I met a friend for lunch but we forgot to make reservations. The restaurant was most gracious and were able to accommodate us. Overall excellent service. I had the seafood chowder I heard about. But since my friend ordered only a cup of her soup I also ordered only a cup of chowder. It must have been the last bit of chowder in the kitchen as the cup was filled with potatoes and just one bite of fish. It was tasty but …I should have ordered the full serving The beet salad was fabulous. Heartily recommended. I also had a glass of house wine a Chardonnay which was cert nice. Then a lovely cappuccino. Not including tip it was just a few pennies shy of 50$.!! A bit disappointing experience .. but I must come back and have a full serving of the chowder to see if it’s as good as I heard! .

We had a great family lunch today at this cosy little family restaurant. Our server was very attentive, warm and welcoming, the food was above expectations. The place looks like an art gallery so 5 stars for the atmosphere. All of our little quirks found a proper and accommodating response from the staff. I loved the steak with the lobster tail add-on. The desserts were made from scratch on spot and were pretty good. And something I would add as feedback (and this is typical to lots of North America based joints that lack the European espresso culture, I know this is minuscule but still) I ordered a double espresso and got a Lungo. The server was so nice I didn't say anything cause it was a perfect lunch and we all had such a great time. The owner (Bill's son) a guys in his 60s came around a few times and checked if everything is ok, which made us fell important. I would definitely come again, it was a great choice -next time we'll go for the Lobster risotto :)

Have been here many times in the past and recommended to others who may not have been here. Last visit was in December. Our meal was decent and our server attentive. However, one of the owners was notably unwell and coughing loudly and frequently throughout the restaurant, into the air and into his hands, which he used immediately to handle glasses used to prepare drinks. The owner also visited each table multiple times throughout the meal to ask how people were doing. Poor choices when someone is sick given the recent pandemic or otherwise. I emailed the restaurant to express concern about this and they didn’t even follow up to acknowledge or apologize. Not a lot of concern for their customers or the impact this behaviour has on others who have been long time customers.
