We loved the place. It has a nice cozy ambience and feel. Everyone with me agreed that their food tasted great. In their menu they have an option for everyone, the food presentation was perfect and the music suits the type and identity of the place. Our waitress was friendly and attentive to details. Definitely The Rowan will be on our list of dining options in Ottawa.

Best ! This is such a good place for comfort food. It’s a really really busy place as the food is so good. The service is beyond excellent. All their stuff including bread is made from scratch. Bread is amazing. Maple pork belly is a must-try. Make a reservation days ahead. Or just wait patiently. It’s worth to wait long for a most enjoyable meal. We got lucky that we went right at the opening time and our party of 6 got the whole row of bar seats. 5 stars for sure.

We had Saturday dinner at The Rowan and everything was very nice. The food was tasty, service was friendly and attentive (our water glasses were never empty). My table ordered the Chicken Supreme, Fresh Malfadine and the Bacon Cheeseburger, plus a couple of apps: Pineapple Pork belly and Pimento Stuffed Pepper au gratin. All were enjoyed. The flavors in each dish complimented each other as each bite presented different sense on the palate. The attached photos don't do the meals justice as they were all wonderfully presented. I began with the PB&J cocktail which was very smooth and nicely chilled. I am not sure I tasted the PB&J (it might be my declining taste buds), but it was still pleasant to drink. Overall, a very nice evening.

Great atmosphere and service. However, food is not that quite delicious and special. I thought the shrimp toast must be so special with that price but basically it's just frozen shrimp on a piece of toast. Belly pork is great and truffle fries are quite acceptable.

The three of us were celebrating a special occasion, and we couldn't have picked a more perfect place! We shared 3 smaller plates, each had our own main, and shared 2 of the desserts. None of the plates disappointed us. We were lucky to enjoy the Crispy (Beef) Brisket on the first day it was added to the menu! We highly recommend that one. This is a must-go restaurant! I plan on returning again.

We went to Rowan for brunch. I ordered avocado tartiini & scrambled eggs. Scrambled eggs were very fluffy and delicious, the eggs were excellent matches with roasted tomato that was on the side. Avocado sandwiches with Parmesan cheese were also excellent. I will most likely going back to try other dishes!! Highly recommend.

We ordered their take out chicken dinner and it was amazing! The whole chicken was tender, the vegetables were tasty and the portions were really generous. We can’t wait to order it again. Highly recommended!

I have been coming here for years and there is always excellent food, drinks and service. The menu is seasonal so coming back at different times of the year means discovering new dishes. One of my favorite restaurants, nothing on the menu has ever disappointed me after I tried it. Signature drink menu is mostly based around gin, so gin lovers can rejoice. *I'm not a gin lover but all drinks were still fantastic in all my visits.

We braved the snowy weather and had a wonderful meal at The Rowan. • As usual, not knowing what to pick, we ordered half the menu and sampled as much as we could. • Everything was simply delicious but the courgette, roasted carrot hummus, fresh casarecce and dosa were absolutely delightful. • Great friendly service, delicious food and overall wonderful evening. We highly recommend this little Gastropub.

Great little Gem hidden in plain sight right next to Lansdowne. What this place lacks in size it sure makes up for in quality. Fantastic, original culinary creations can be found here. The service was great and the good looked and tasted phenomenal! Definitely book ahead, especially if there is an event on at the nearby arena.... The menu has a good amount of options, though the dinner menu that doesn't change too much. Overall, I would highly recommend for anyone in the area.

The Rowan absolutely delivers as always. A completely amazing dinner with my family. Service was on point. Food was top notch. I got the Rainbow trout in broth with a bed of veggies. I’m gluten and dairy free and to have such a superior dish firing on all cylinders really wowed my taste buds. The Pavlova for dessert was delicious too. Went to the Rowan on December 27. Amazing restaurant! We had reservations for 11:30 and were promptly acknowledged. The food was delicious and the prices reasonable. The falafel egg plant sandwich exceeded expectations and also had generous portions of fries and a side salad. The fact that you get both and not just one or the other was a pleasant surprise! Our server was attentive and personable. I was visiting family and can’t wait to visit them again, so we can go back to your restaurant😁

This place is so adorable and the food is so good! As a celiac I am always so limited but they had a good amount of options for me plus they had cute drinks as well! The bites aren’t overwhelmingly large which means you can get a few plates and share!! A definite must eat!

Every time I come here, the staff is always to the top friendly and happy to serve their guest. I'm writing this review because it's very uncommon to find a restaurant that sees customer service as a high priority. But also they make you feel very welcomed!

The service was great but did not find the food to be that spectacular. We expected better from a restaurant rated this highly. We ordered Trofie pasta from the dinner menu and while the presentation was good, the ingredients fresh, the flavour just wasn't fully satisfying. It was a warm comfort dish however. The shrimp cocktail was a build-your-own lettuce wrap with a few pieces of shrimp that was too tart with the sauces provided. The dessert of lemon shortcake was two dry pieces of cake with whipped cream in between and overpriced for what it was.

Absolutely delicious - thank you Tori for making the celebratory dinner for my fiance and our friend unforgettable! She brought out some sparking wine as well as desserts with a candle on it to top the night off. The table loved the surprise, we will definitely be back!

We had a really nice dinner here. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was nice and chill. There were a couple vegetarian options and we ended up getting the tofu and the fritters. I’m not a huge lentil fan so the tofu was my fave. We also got the chocolate dessert which was really nice!

Went with friends on a Friday. Great atmosphere, great staff, great drinks, food was expensive but tasty with good presentation. However, I am in shock that they can charge 16$ for a small burger which comes with no sides.... extra 8$ for fries? after tax and tip your at over 30$ for a burger and fries, add a drink and 40$ for a meal. Great place to spend your evening with unique food and drinks menu. The food menu doesn’t contain too many options however the ones available are delicious. They don’t have any chicken dishes though. They have some fun cocktails and good collection of wines. Do make sure to have a reservation as it’s usually booked on Friday and Saturday evenings. Shoutout to GM Tory and AGM Gabby for their excellent service and for maintaining a friendly atmosphere inside.

I had the braised lamb tostada, it was just amazing. Reasonably priced too. The staff was very welcoming, the place was full (not surprising). I went there on a whim, I will definitely have to go back to try the rest of the menu.

This is one of the best restaurants in the Glebe. Run by the owners of the excellent Fraser Cafe in New Edinburgh, The Rowan offers a wonderful fine dining experience. I have been here a few times and have always had a great time. Indeed, during my latest visit, the food was once again delicious and the service very good. Over the course of my meal, I split an appetizer, ordered the spaghetti with ricotta and chives, drank two beers, and had an affogato with Bailey's. When I added tax and 20% tip the bill came to $84. While not cheap, the price was worth it given the high quality of the food and drinks. Definitely would come back. Note: I have included a photo of the Duck Confit that my friend ordered.

A wonderful restaurant. Super service from all staff members, great cocktails and wine, and yummy food. They handled dietary restrictions with ease. Our only suggestion would be more Ontario wine on the menu. 🫶We will be back!

Decided to ac like a an adult with an aspiring interest in 'culture' so I skipped out on my usual haunt of pizza or bagels and decided to grab a seat for one at The Rowan. Actually a nice place, nice staff - I think my 'trans'-ness attracted some kindness from a few staff and that was more than I deserved given my aversion towards sitting at the bar like some kind of sociable 'normie'. Anyway, I was treated with decency, and the food arrived quickly. I scarfed down the seared tuna with all the appetite of a ravenous shark; my use of cutlery a mere accommodation for the others around me. Never under-estimate a hungry trans woman who skipped breakfast and lunch only to happen upon your business by chance - she'll clean house if she doesn't keep an eye on her savings ;) All in all, would recommend to any decent foodie. I might bring a bib next time...and there will be a next time, muhahahhahahaha!!!!

Maybe it was an off day, but the food was a bit of a let down. It sounded and looked delicious, but the flavors either fell short or were strong in a weird way, like overly salty or acidic. Which for the price was disappointing. I would definitely visit again though, for their cocktails and maybe a light snack.

The food and service were excellent 👌 Very delicious vegetarian option and burger/fries. It was just a tad noisy because the front of the restaurant was open and since it was a particularly warm day, it was a bit warm inside. We will however return in the near future for other date nights!

We went for brunch and the food was delicious, service was fast and friendly. Our server was very attentive in filling our water and making sure we were out in time for the afternoon game, in and out in 30 minutes.

The Rowan is an excellent yet cozy venue that features an ever-changing menu based on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. If you're availing yourself of the nearby Landsdowne entertainment district, this is absolutely the place to be if you want to avoid a chain restaurant. Reservations are strongly recommended, it's always pretty full during peak hours. In addition, brunch is served until 2PM on weekends, and their Ceasars are phenomenal!

The Rowan restaurant provides fabulous service and amazing food to it's customers. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. They provide donations to all of the charities that I volunteer for throughout the city. I would recommend The Rowan to anyone who is looking for a place to eat on date night or for people who are looking to book a party. The service was amazing.

Was pleasantly surprised with our meal, everything was really good - some nice vegetarian options and the foraged elements and pickles were fantastic. Great service as well. Atmosphere could be a bit too noisy for some people who want a more intimate date, but we enjoyed the convivial ambiance, it was bustling.

It may be a bit claustrophobic, but the food and service more than make up for it. It was incredibly busy during my meal, yet the staff kept everything immaculate and made me feel like the only guest there. There is no egg benny or breakfast sandwich in Ottawa that can top what these folks make. Phenomenal job by everyone.

This was our second dinner at the Rowan, a casual British gastropub with a difference. I added snails prepared with ale to my striploin, for just $4. Service was friendly and unhurried. Meals were plated and presented beautifully. Wine list is interesting: none are available at LCBO.

Superb service. The food is always an adventure and the wine list contains many selections not found at the LCBO.

This place has incredible food and drinks. Prices are fairly high but the service is fantastic. The atmosphere is very comfortable but still classy. There are several vegan and vegetarian options as well. You won't regret visiting.
