The location of this hotel is excellent. Rooms come with a kitchenette, large bathroom, separate living room area with pull out bed, and balcony. The staff are very courteous and helpful. Amazing customer service within the entire hotel. The suites are spacious and exceptionally clean. The rooms are very sound resistant as don't hear noises from hallway. Highly recommend this hotel anytime.

Construction alert! Because of renovations, restaurant is closed, no washroom available in lobby, and only one lane for both entry and exit to/from parking garage. Verify whether renovation is completed (maybe by May '24) if these things bother you. Our oven in our suite wasn't plugged in, or properly leveled. Lower shelves of furniture were very dusty. Being winter, there was lots of salt on sidewalk by entryway. Maybe pet-friendly salt could be used? We enjoyed our stay nevertheless. Staff were friendly and helpful. Like the name says, suites, not just rooms. Clean and tidy common areas. Close to lots of Ottawa attractions. Definitely would consider returning.

Absolutely a five star stay! Perfect suite with fill kitchen, laundry and massage shower head. Gorgeous balcony for a fantastic glimpse of the downtown Ottawa glow. 5 minute walk to museums, pubs, breakfast and shopping. Will definitely stay at the Les Suites again. ✌🏽🌈🥳

The rooms are a good size and the location is great. We can walk to everything. The one downfall was that we could not use the pool. We booked our stay from Monday to Thursday and when I called the front desk to reserve the pool they said it was booked that day, so I asked for anytime during our stay. They said it was fully booked. We’ve stayed at a few hotels during the pandemic and have never had that happen. It was really disappointing because like many families we booked that hotel for the pool so that we could swim during our vacation Every hotel that we’ve stayed at during the pandemic had a reservation policy for the pool that started in the morning for the same day so that everyone had a chance to use it. I think they should maybe change the way they book pool reservations. So nice hotel but don’t book it for the pool.

Good size clean rooms, full kitchen and a laundry room!! I liked the city view very much. The location is great and close to the dive lady and gray line bus tours. Also walking distance to the parliament building and so many historical places. The coffe shop in the lobby is okay but not great! However the hotel is too close to many restaurants including halal shawarma and burger factory. Also the terrace is a bonus! I loved it setting there watching the busy streets. I would give the hotel 5 stars but the elevator made my son a bit late for his soccer game, they always busy! Definitely I will come back though.

Excellent location in downtown Ottawa. Full kitchen with washer and dryer. Love their wooden floors and dining area. No free breakfast but their is a cafeteria downstairs.Their is a gym a pool and hot tubs ( hot tub- out of order when we visit) but it’s ok,. Parking is not free , it would be awesome if it was, (hopefully management would look into this) and lastly the staff were friendly and helpful. Our overall stay was great. Will recommend to friends and family

Where to start. Check in is at 3 and when myself and family arrived the room was not ready. We had to wait an hour and half to get into our room. When we finally got into the room, it was dirty. Garbage left in the utility room and a ladies bra left in the one bedroom. The stains on the ceiling was gross. The pool water was freezing. I had to park 2 blocks away as there was no parking. I ended up cutting our visit short and changing hotels. Never again will I be back.

I can not review the service as it was not me who stayed there. My sister and her husband came to visit. I wanted to see what it looked like. It's an apartment. Two bedrooms. It needs a really good upgrade, but overall, it was spacious. It had a fully equipped kitchen. It's located right across Rideau center. Perfect location to visit Ottawa. Parking not included, and it's pricey $28/night

Pretty good hotel and location. My biggest complaint was that it cost $28 per night to park and no one even told me. The hotel staff asked if I needed parking and I said sure. They never told me it would cost anything. Something like that should be clearly communicated EDIT: I removed a star because of the fact there were other cheaper options to park in the city and I wasn't told. I would have been happy to park further and pay less. I not once went back to my car the whole time I was there.

Horrible experience from the beginning. They checked us into the wrong room. Some random people had our key and we’re entering our room. The hotel forced us to park next door because they had no more room and it’s cost triple the price and they were not willing to do anything. Rooms were old and they stunk. Carpet everywhere that no matter how many times you vacuum it doesn’t clean. Dust on the couches. Furniture and appliance from 20 years ago. I would not recommend it at all. Location was good but that’s about it. Stay elsewhere!!

It stinks. The people and location are great. But the room stunk. The carpets turned out socks black. The washing machine was from before WW2 and smelled like they fished it out of a swamp. We had to keep telling the kids to no sit on the carpet. The couches weren't much better and covered in multiple different shades of human hair. The good thing is that it's a few minutes walk from Byward and Parliament. And if your socks get too gross, you can hop over to the mall to get new ones. It's right next door. Just, you know, sanitize everything when you get home.

Two Starts are for : 1. Amazing Location 2. Super friendly & professional personnel Other than that everything is pretty awful. 1. It was the dirtiest place I had ever stayed in my entire life. Even hostels I used to stay when young and broke were much more cleaner. Dust comes up when you sit on sofa, carpet is black because of years of stains, dirt & filth in every ventilation, air conditioning systems and in every corner. Tbh my garage is much more cleaner. 2. No sound isolation. Because dogs are allowed, we couldn’t sleep all night because of neighbor residents dogs. 3. Elevators are very busy. Sometimes we waited for 10-15 minutes to get in. Overall, this place definitely needs renovation, with more emphasis on keeping pace clean. If I am paying 360$ per night, i would like to stay in a proper room, not in dirty & filthy place.

The staff was great and friendly. However, I found the carpet in the room we had to be very messy and the sofa bed looks as though it was never made up as there was hair ties remaining from previous guest. I used the dryer to freshen up the sheets before using. The kitchen had all the essentials we needed to make our kids a quick breakfast. The location was convenient for what we had planned and views were beautiful.

Clean and well laid out rooms. With a kitchenette, large bathroom, separate living room area with pull out bed, and balcony, Les Suites is more than accommodating. Easy to access wifi with reasonable speeds. Indoor pool with hot tub. Simple parking. 3 elevators to handle high traffic. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a luxurious stay and don't want to break the bank.

Room was nice and spacious, once we were finally able to check in. Despite calling a month early for an early check-in time, a room wasn't even available until hours after it should have been. I understand you aren't kicking people out of their rooms, but this hotel was chosen based on timing. We would have cancelled and left but they don't make that process easy either. Unimpressed.

We stayed here due to flight issues. It was lovely. Friendly. Kind. And after we checked in, the desk checked in with us to see if everything was okay. I admire that. Thank you for a lovely clean room.

The two bedroom suite we had for 4 people was dingy at best. The couch was stained and worn. First morning there one person had a shower but within 3 minutes the water went cold and had to rinse her hair in very cold water. Front desk sent up maintenance who came 40 minutes only to find the water was warm now so deemed “all good, no problem here”. Second attempt at a shower on a separate day, same thing. Called front desk to get a fellow who didn’t want to help and asked me what I wanted him to do with a sarcastic tone. When I was transferred to another person they made another suit available for showering which was a solution but less than ideal. The second suite they gave us to shower in, the toilet was filthy with dried urine. Upon checking out they offered $30 as compensation for not being able to shower or have hot water for sanitation in the kitchen and let us know they have been inconvenienced as they now have an additional suite they can’t rent out as we showered in it. Unsatisfied with that, we spoke with Kevin, the manager, who when we calmly explained our situation, once again placed the responsibility was put on us to have followed up after our initial complaint and he was only willing to offer $150 on our $1,300 bill. We asked for one nights stay as compensation which we felt VERY reasonable given the situation and he refused.

Booked a modern king suite for two nights for our anniversary. First room was very dirty. Clearly not vacuumed or not vacuumed properly, there was dirt and dust bunnies everywhere. We called down and a maintenance man came up with a cloth and a bottle of windex! He took one look and left.. the front desk promptly gave us a second room. This room was much cleaner, but still had dust bunnies in the corners and some kind of stain down the side of the toilet. Pet friendly is great, however only one piece of grass on the property and it’s covered in No Dog signs! Weird. We decided to only stay one night. Quite disappointed. Both rooms we were given were newly renovated, and I have to say the quality of the finishing work looked like something a DIY homeowner might have done. Sloppy caulking everywhere, fixtures look like they won’t last, and baseboards with shoddy mitres. If I owned this place I’d be holding the contractor to a higher standard, and the cleaning staff as well.

Location is perfect, staff couldn't be friendlier, room was very spacious, pool was big but the hot tub is out of order and from what I read has been for a very long time. Security is top notch which is really appreciated in this location. My only complaints are that we booked one of the 2 bedroom family suites and while it was very spacious, it was only on the 2nd floor, I would have preferred something higher up being that we paid the money for the larger room. Also, the room had a musty smell to it and the patio door was super hard to open and shut. Other than that, I would still stay here again, i would just request a higher floor upon booking. Oh and, Be prepared for lots of outside noise though because you are close to the mission and directly across from a bar BUT the trade off is you are literally steps from the Rideau center :)

STAY ANYWHERE BUT HERE. Spent the weekend at Les Suites in Ottawa as part of a hockey tournament. When we arrived we found written notice of renovations and spent the next few hours listening to drilling in the room above us. No notice on the website of renovations. We didn’t think much of it at the time. Came back to our room following our day of games to find our bathroom flooded. In a rush to get to a team activity we were not interested in immediately changing rooms but the manager offered to send us in a cab so they could get blowers in the room to deal with the wet carpet. We delayed the move until after we returned at nearly midnight. The manager said we would discuss compensation at a later time. Changed rooms at midnight, slept and left to check out only to find we had been charged fully for both nights. The manager on duty Leila-Ann Feife was incredibly rude stating that the compensation offered was waiving the “pet fee” and insinuated that we had not pre-arranged our pet, which was not the case as we had called in advance as we were making arrangements for the weekend. The experience was by far the worst customer service I have ever encountered. While the room they provided at midnight was a far nicer room, the non-renovated rooms are dated, odorous and resemble an 1980s condo. There are better options within the vicinity of this hotel. If you are considering it, I would warn that service and facilities are sub par and be prepared to be disappointed.

We stayed for three nights. We had a two room suite with 4 guests. On the first morning we reported that the hot water ran out in under 5 minutes. We called maintenance and by the time they came the water was hot again. We thought that it was a temporary problem due to the ongoing construction. We left for the day without showering. The next morning we had the same issue. Maintenance came and deemed our suite unrentable. Their solution was for us to go to a room down the hall to shower. This room had old urine on the toilet, which was their “clean room” Upon checking out we were initially offered one free day parking for our inconvenience. We did not even have a vehicle. When we spoke to Kevin, the manager, we made it very clear that we thought having one night free was a fair compensation for the fact that we had been assigned a faulty room. We initially thought we should ask for half of our stay refunded but because they did provide us a dirty place to shower, we agreed one night was free. Kevin was only prepared to give us a $150 refund on a $1300 bill. When I calmly explained our perspective Kevin dug in and insisted that it was our fault that we didn’t follow up on day one to have our rooms changed. This hotel was below par to begin with but Kevin’s lack of customer service prompted this review. They are not a chain so Kevin is the final stop up the complaint ladder, but hopefully spreading the word will encourage them to improve their service and general building maintenance.

I enjoyed my stay at Les Suites, the rooms are entire mini-apartments, which gives them a nice homey feel. Shout out to the great reception team that promptly and kindly addressed my room switch request. Room was nice and quiet, with a great view and such a comfortable bed that I did not want to get out of it. While some rooms are a little dated, I feel like the hotel is actively renovating, which may take a while given the costs- I am sure all rooms will be amazing once renovations are complete. The only thing I did not love was the location- while very central and close to tourist attractions, 1-2 mins walking in the wrong direction gets you to a rather sketchy area of downtown. This is not the hotel's fault, of course, just worth mentioning.

Worst hotel experience I've ever had. Do NOT stay here. Horrible maintenance. Made our bed worse than a toddler. No fitted sheets (seriously), leaking shower, received one bathrobe for 2 people, never received a dishcloth for dishes in a suite, no cutting board, never replaced towels and face cloths.

  • 3/5 Melissa S. 8 months ago on Google
I stayed here years ago and really enjoyed it. It's the best available option in the area but the rooms and amenities could really use some work. There were dead flies on the windowsill; the finish was coming off of some of the furniture (so the press board was exposed); the carpets are stained; the batheroom floor was not clean; the hot tub was out of commission; and there was rust and cracked tiles in the pool area.

Stayed here over the weekend and I was genuinely surprised. We had a larger suite, it came with washing machine, kitchen, balcony, dish washer, and a full living room/bedroom/bathroom. Was bigger than our condo in Toronto. Parking seemed like it was under construction, that was the only thing we didn't like. Very tight parking spots and seems like it needs a lot of work. Cleaners were great, front desk was responsive. Overall great experience.

I was very skeptical about staying here because the rates were significantly more affordable than other hotels in the area and because I read other reviews say the rooms are older. I’m happy to say the room I got was great. It was clean and the beds were very comfortable. I reserved a one bedroom suite and I got a two bedroom suite. The kitchen was stocked with dishes, pots, dish soap, utensils. The washer and dryer are very small and old school but it was great being able to do laundry when traveling. Only wished they provided laundry soap as well. Overall it was a great experience and I would stay here again.

We always stayed here as kids for soccer tournaments so it was nostalgia to book here again. Rooms were great nice and big. We had the kitchenette, but could have used a frying pan. Had 2 pots and a colander. Not the hotels fault in anyway but so many homeless people in the area made for some crazy moments. I would recommend the hotel because security is good. pool was great, only wish the hot tub had been working.

From the minute we arrive the check-in was so fast. They upgraded our room to a two bedroom because they couldn’t accommodate a cot. The service was amazing. The hotel was beautiful clean. We had an excellent stay I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent stay at the hotel this week. The location is perfect for both business and hollidays trip, close to shaw center, By market, canal rideau, parlement . I have been upgraded to a larger room because the original one were full The parking is communicated directly with the hotel. I had to leave the hotel 1 Day earlier and they only charged me for late check out. Then i forgot something in my room and the housekeeping service was very kind and helpfull to get it back to me at home only 2 days after. Their service is really good. I will definitively come back.

I am a long-term stay as my new apartment was not avalable for 2 months. While it may be listed as a 3 star hotel, I was given 5 star service. The staff is very nice, friendly and will go out of their way to make your stay a good one. They checked in with me every week to see how my stay was going. Also, housekeeping does a fantastic job cleaning my apartment. I also want to thank maintenance who quickly addressed any issues I may have had. Thank you Les Suites, much appreciated.

Great location for walking, attractions, near parliament hill and lots of shops and restaurants as well as the subway train system. seemed super secure and safe, you need key cards to get in through any exterior door which is nice. nice cafe downstairs. only thing is rooms need an update

Avoid! Booked a suite, check in time 3pm, our room wasn't ready at 5, told to come back in an hour or so, came back at 7 to be told they oversold,.our room wasn't available. They had one replacement room left, one queen size bed for a family of three, would only give us $40 off our price, which obviously we can't refuse as I t was so late in the day to find somewhere else. Never again.

The front desk staff here were all incredible- I can't stress this enough! I stayed for just under a full week, and had an awesome time. Despite being right downtown near a few mission centers, I felt very safe at the location. Prompt service and awesome staff. The rooms are a bit dated, that's the only reason for the missing star. Thank you Les Suites!

  • 1/5 Jessica D. 2 years ago on Google
Hard to get in the building. Upon check in I learned I needed to pay an extra $28 to park over night at the hotel. Rooms are very outdated and not a cozy feel. Both alarm clocks in each room were set to 6am and woke us all up. Hair dryer was dirty with greasy hand print on them. There was no caffeinated coffee in our suite, only decaffeinated. You could hear thudding music from downtown Ottawa on a Saturday night u til 11pm, but I guess that’s what you get anywhere downtown at a hotel. Was hard to fall asleep. Was disappointed there was no free coffee or even a muffin for the morning, you had to pay extra upon booking your hotel for free breakfast. Was conveniently located however I would not stay at Les Suites again.

We have been very well received by very professional staff. The rooms are clean and spacious. The only thing, I would give a bit of love to the decoration and the furniture but overall, I recommend strongly.

  • 2/5 Seyed Alireza A. 2 years ago on Google
We stayed there for 11 days, the location of the hotel is good (in the center of Ottawa downtown) but the hotel is very old and the furniture inside the rooms is old and dark. There is construction near to the hotel which is very annoying and it is difficult to sleep. The hotel staff was irresponsible, for each task had to be called several times to get it done. Overall, I do not suggest this hotel.

This review is very late (I thought I had already done one but I hadn't). I stayed at Les Suites very comfortably with 5 teenagers in a 2 BRM suite in August 2018. It was large, clean and within walking distance to all the tourist spots and amenities. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel and it deserves a higher rating than the 3 stars it's been assigned.

My family and I had a great experience. The staff were very courteous and helpful. The suite was spacious and exceptionally clean. Our cat had a great time too. We felt the sanitation protocols made our family confident and safe. The beds were very comfortable. Would stay there again and highly recommend any four person family with a pet.

A great stay and great customer service! The room was clean, spacious and I loved you couldn’t hear any noise from the hallway. The only reason I leave off a star is because I booked through Expedia and agreed to pay for extended check out till 2pm. Front desk didn’t have record of it. I said no worries. They offered it complimentary- I said oh wow thank you that would be amazing. I left at 1:30 and there was a very kind hotel employee going to my room to see if I had checked out. I called from the elevator that I was bringing my belongings to my car. So clearly there was never any record again for a 2pm check out. Either way it was a great stay. I think next time I will book directly with Les Suites. I think that will help the miscommunication. Highly recommend a stay here. TV in bedroom another plus! Will be back soon for another night of sleep away from my 5 year old. 😂

Friendly staff. Suite was nice. Barley any pressure in the showers. Could have been cleaner. Found a gummie bear on the floor and dirty glasses in the cupboards/bathrooms. Makes you wonder how clean the rest was. Overall very nice and would stay again Edit. Bed and pillows were super comfy and even the pull out bed is comfy! Wife needed a break from my snoring

The rooms are very large and I love that we each had our own bathroom as there was only two of us sharing. Location is great as it's right downtown easy to get to. It's a little outdated but clean. Friendly staff, would recommend staying here.

  • 2/5 Andrea N. 1 year ago on Google
Parking should not be an extra fee when you are staying at the hotel. Also, a small breakfast should be included for the price you're paying. The rooms need updating. The first room we were given smelled foul like smoke. The carpeting is the cause for sure. The staff was friendly and moved us to a nicer room. For the prices they charge they should really update some of the outdated items. Nice to have a washer and dryer but they are ancient. Remodel is in order.

You get what you pay for. Affordable Byward market stay. Very friendly staff and nice sized rooms but very out of date. Some appliances didn't work, the hot tub has been out of order for 4 months and they didn't have a cot for us. We partied hard and they were cool with it.

  • 4/5 Bob S. 1 year ago on Google
This is a good four-star hotel. The suite was very spacious with a large kitchen. Overall, it was very comfortable. I would definitely consider this for an extended stay. It is located on the south side of the Byward Market. There was some level of street noise which filtered up but not bad.

Location was great for walking. while not in best neighborhood, was safe and convenient. Little restaurant open in the day for breakfast and snacks. Food was quite good. Was hoping for 2 beds in each room but accommodated our family. A little dated but water pressure good and great space. Only thing was pool was very cold so didn't go in as much as I liked. warm up and fix hot tub and I'd give it a 5!. All and all good value for the large rooms. Staff was also very friendly. Can't speak about parking since I did not drive but looked a little tight.

Fantastic location with plenty of great food options in walking distance. The staff were better than 5 star hotels I have stayed at. Everyone there was super friendly. The suites were very large. Yes, things are dated (they are starting to do renovations) but it is a considerable value for the cost versus other options. The shared gym and pool with Novotel were great. I did have an issue with the washer in my room but they did the best they could to make life easier and the manager personally responded.

Great space for our family of 5. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Location was great for walking to Byward market. Downtown is sketchy after dark but that's normal. Also rooms need some TLC, but happy with our stay.

I really enjoyed staying at Les Suites Hotel Ottawa. The suite was larger than I thought, so I feel the price is good for what you get. The the place was cleaned and comfortable. Security seemed to be a priority there and I appreciated that. But the best part is the amazing service I got. When I booked the room I didn’t realize I’d have to use my credit card for a 250$ deposit. It wasn’t possible for me and the staff found out an exceptional alternative for me without making me feel bad. This really made me feel like they care about their clients satisfaction. I will go again the next time I travel to Ottawa for sure. Thank you!

The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were a lot cleaner than other known hotels. We had the 2 bedroom apartment, very spacious, fully equipped kitchen along with laundry room. Location is very convenient, if you are missing an item for the kitchen or laundry detergent... Dollarama is just steps away. While this is not connected to the mall it is just around the corner.

Stayed with my family on family day weekend, and we chose this hotel instead of the Business Inn because of the pool. Unfortunately, the pool is not heated and freezing. We were in there for a very short amount of time. It would have been nice to use the hot tub, but apparently, that has been out of order for some time and no plans to get it repaired. The hotel was nice and the suite we had was very nice and spacious. The underground parking lot has very low ceilings. Its location is very close to the byward market and the parliament buildings, so we were able to walk everywhere.

  • 2/5 Alexandre T. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms are pretty old. Kids were super excited to go to the pool after the day in the city, to find out it was already closed. That was a deception, since everywhere else pools closes at 10pm, but here, at 9pm it's over. Adding to that, it only opens at 10am, and checkout is at 11am, which doesn't leave you a big window to enjoy. We got there at opening time, ready to watch the kids (teens) from the spa, only to find out it was out of service.... I don't have the impression that I hade worth the money spent 🤣 Hotel is well located, and the staff is very welcoming and happy to help.

Location is great. However, I highly recommend against staying in a non-suite room. The regular hotel rooms are in a very noisy location directly adjacent to the elevators. It might also be a room specific however the carpets in 305 are gross
