My husband and I have been visiting his family in Ottawa for eighteen years, once a year. We have always stayed in hotels, but the prices this year were outrageous. And so I booked the Century B and B. My husband was not enthusiastic about staying at a B and B., but he was immediately won over here by the cleanliness and the atmosphere. The included breakfast was gourmet/delicious; given the prices in Byward Market, the breakfast alone is worth $70 for two (coffee and juice included for free at Century House.) Vittorio, who provided breakfast and helpful information, is an amazing host. Negatives? The washroom was very narrow; if you are Big, Bold and Beautiful, you will have trouble maneuvering. The bedroom was very warm at night, but I understand that one's "too warm" is another's "too cool". I considered not writing a review, because I do not want Century House to become popular and expensive. But Vittorio deserves the recognition, and I want to stay there again.

One of the nicest B&B's I've stayed at. The host was very welcoming and responded instantly to text messages. The house is immaculately decorated with lots of little nice touches. It was freshly painted and wood floors were recently sealed. Everything was very clean. The room was very nice with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom. The neighborhood is quiet and conveniently located, just a short walk to the market area and canal. It was very convenient to have on-site parking. The house was easy to find at night, since the house number was lighted with a red light. The living room and dining room was available for guests to use. In the dining room, the guests could help themselves to tea, bottled water, orange juice, and biscotti. Host was very flexible, he allowed guests to leave bags at the house past the check out time and he allowed me to park in the driveway past the check out time. Breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, yogurt, orange juice, coffee, fresh muffins or pastries followed by a nicely prepared hot dish.

Quaint little place. Was very clean and homey. We stayed in the Sapphire room and it was great. My only concern was the washroom was on the small side. But unless you intend to spend the entire stay in the washroom, it suited the space wonderfully. The washroom itself was also very clean. I believe some of the other rooms may have larger washrooms. Only suggestion would to put a bath mat down to absorb some of the water from the shower when entering and exiting. Looking forward to my next stay here!

A short but wonderful stay in this beautiful very characteristic B & B within walking distance to downtown Ottawa. The home was very clean with lovely decor throughout including comfortable rooms. Our host Vittorio was accommodating to all our needs, cooked and served a delicious breakfast and ensured our stay was pleasant. We will visit again.

Stayed here a while back and fully intended to write a review but time got away from me. It really was immaculate and breakfast was superb! Friendly and professional proprietor. Beautiful and very comfortable room in a historic home.

We really loved our stay at Vittorio's bed and breakfast. He was a very pleasant host and a terrific cook. We stayed in the Sapphire Room and it was very clean and comfortable. It was an easy walk to the Byward Market or Parliament. We would highly recommend staying at this well cared for home. Keith

Stayed here when Vittorio just took over the establishment and it was very evident then that this was going to be a beautifully maintained space. Amazing and delicious breakfast every morning, very comfortable beds and very central location that's within walking distance to many Ottawa highlights. Would definitely come back whenever I'm in Ottawa.

We stayed at the Century House for 5 days and it was a great experience! This beautifully renovated B & B is conveniently located for easy walking and biking in downtown Ottawa. With gourmet breakfasts, free parking, quiet and comfortable rooms, convenient easy check-in (look for messages from the friendly host)...it can't be beat!

The considerate host slides his socked-feet across the polished wooden floors as he carries his freshly cooked waffles with fruit and syrup to the guests sat a mid-century modern tables. Breakfast happens efficiently in a 30 min time frame. The host provides a predictable structure and a kind voice. This is not a place tailored to your choices, it is clean, functional, in an old building with an interesting and interested host.

This small bed & breakfast is centrally located in Ottawa and within walking distance of the main downtown attractions. The house is modern and stylishly furnished. Everything was clean and in top condition. We must emphasize that the owner is very nice, helpful and courteous. The homemade breakfast leaves nothing to be desired and tastes great. We were offered a map of the city and given valuable tips for activities and dining suggestions. Great stay, great service, great experience. Gladly again, thank you!

This is a gem in the heart of Ottawa. Walking distance to dozens of attractions and some of the finest restaurants in Ottawa. Clean, well appointed with very comfortable rooms. The owner, Vittorio, was welcoming and easily accessible by email/text, (replied to questions within minutes). His breakfasts are second to none and, we'll look no further, next time we visit Ottawa.

The B&B is a great and unique place to stay with a great location in Ottawa. Vittorio as the host is also very friendly and makes a lot of effort with everything. Especially the breakfast is great. We can recommend the hotel unreservedly and will definitely come back when we are in Ottawa.

Had a lovely stay at this bed and breakfast. Impeccably clean and tastefully decorated, a 10-15 min taxi to/from the train station, and a short walk to Ottawa attractions. The bathroom in the room we stayed in was a bit tight, so taller people might have a harder time with it, but we had a lovely stay overall. Vittorio made an amazing breakfast each morning and was so kind and accommodating and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of when my partner suffered a migraine. Would highly recommend staying here!

It was such a lovely stay. The house was beautiful with newly renovated interiors, the host Vittorio was very friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was delicious. Not to mention how close it was to the main sights. I will definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Vittorio was an excellent host with great culinary skills. His breakfasts are amazing . His house is beautiful, just having recently undergone sympathetic restoration. All in all an excellent 3 days stay. Conveniently located within a short walks distance to downtown Ottawa, Byward market and the parliament buildings.

This is a lovely place with a tasty breakfast prepared by Vittorio himself. The room was very clean and well maintained. The house is charming and has a vintage vibe. The host exceeded our expectations. We were happy to stay in his house for the long weekend.

Vittorio is a great host--easy to talk to and eager to help. The breakfasts were unique and delicious--better than any I've had in a restaurant. When Vittorio learned my son was going to stay the second night in his dorm room at uOttawa, he messaged us with the breakfast menu for the next morning to convince him to come back for breakfast. The Century House is extremely clean, comfortable, and the location was perfect for us.

Excellent Bed & Breakfast! My partner and I stayed in the Gold Room for two evenings, and were made to feel very comfortable. Vittorio was an accommodating host and the breakfasts were obviously made with much care and creativity. The house has a great atmosphere and was an 8 minute walk from the Byward Market. I would absolutely stay here again.

Lovely little bed and breakfast, located minutes from the Byward Market, and within easy walking distance to Parliament, several museums, and tons of restaurants. The host, Vittorio, was very friendly and knowledgable, and the breakfast was fantastic! Our room (Sapphire Room) was very clean and comfortable. The only small complaint I have (which wasnt enough to knock it down to four stars) is that the bathroom is VERY tiny, and that the toilet is so close to the sink that you have to sit a bit sideways. Parking is included and the driveway is a bit narrow if there are other cars, but it does the job. Overall, a very positive experience and I would definitely stay again!

Vittorio is the consummate host of this ‘century house’ that truly is your home away from home. Stylishly appointed, wonderfully situated, with an artistic breakfast that is matched by its flavours! You will be pleased to have secured a room here.

Our stay at this place far exceeded our expectations. We took a weekend trip away from Toronto to visit the nation's capital. I called the host the day before and made a reservation. He was very friendly and accommodating. Secure self check-in and the interior has a warm yet chic and modern vibe. Following COVID protocols to this day, the place was extremely clean. The location is top notch in terms of proximity to major attractions. The attached bathroom, had all the necessary amenities including quality shampoos and body wash. It is understandably small so you have to aware of your surroundings. The gourmet apple pancake breakfast was exquisite, memorable and a perfect way to start the day. Highly recommended. We'll be sure to stay there again next time.

Great place to stay in Ottawa. Well furnished. Great host. Delicious breakfasts with perfect proportions focusing on good flavour instead of quantity. Even in winter, everything is a pleasant walk away with many good restaurants nearby.

We stayed the weekend at the Century House. Our room was the Burgundy Room. We arrived past the check-in time but the owner Vittorio had emailed us the door code in advance so checking in was a breeze. Our room was kept spotless. Breakfast is homemade each morning with a different delicious dish each day. The location of the Century House was also a plus. Even though we drove, everything was walking distance. I would definitely recommend staying here.
