A historic small town in the west island. The board walk is charming. Lots of restaurants along the river with excellent river view. The canal has lots of views to offer. Good fishing spot too.

One of the most underrated gems in this amazing island of ours. The sunset here is a must see and the overall experience has always been pleasant. It’s beautiful, and soothing. If you’re ever feeling down, this place would probably cheer you up.

Absolutely stunning place. Beautiful views. Great walk with the family along the Canal. Historical spot to look at if you are visiting Montreal or simply living, but never drove this way. A bit windy, but depends on the weather. On hot days feels great. Has bathrooms! Lots of small restaurants nearby to enjoy.

If you are near this area while in Montreal please make your way out here. This is a true hidden gem. We loved looking at the historic lock, the canal is gorgeous and all the beautiful quaint shops are excellent to see. You will be able to find a great place to eat here also. There is free parking and make sure you take your time and walk around! “Jonique Life” If you find value in our reviews please consider following our social media outlets on Facebook and Instagram as we highlight magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.

Living right next to this scenery has really deepened my connection to nature. Having grown up around here I have had mixed feelings about this place. But being older now, I can truly appreciate it

Although the lesser known area of the more touristic village, this area is precious. Many picnic tables, however, unfortunately too few adirondack chairs. Usually the restrooms should be available, however, temporarily closed for now. Another point which may please the fans of train watching, there are many that pass frequently. Personally, I found the coming and going a little annoying. All in all, a pleasant stretch next to the busy restaurants by the boardwalk.

Very nice walk way beside the river... boats and people

This is always an enjoyable outing. However it would be better if we could walk with our pooches on the boardwalk. This forces pet owners to only walk on the main street or hold them in their arms if they are small dogs.

Perfect place to walk around on a nice sunny day. Parking is limited, look around in the small streets to find one.

Very quiet early in the day. Then it wakes up, loaded with people. There are many restaurants, snack bars, pop-up markets, and stores. It's quite pleasant to sit on a terrasse overlooking the water, enjoying a meal and watching the boats and/or people. A very popular bike path passes through, so there are lots of people on bikes also. The streets are narrow and crowded, so your best bet is to find a parking spot (preferably a couple of blocks away) and walk through the area.

Young male employee took time to chat & answer our question regarding the working of the locks We visited a Saturday when the market was available. Would have liked to step inside and see the big church,,found doors locked, no one available to offer tour or permission to visit. Streets were clean, limited garbage. Friendly store keepers.

Fantastic place to watch the sunset or relax by the edge of the water. There are picnic tables on site with umbrellas and bathroom access in the summer. Stroll down the boardwalk for food, entertainment and a seasonal farmer's market.

Love the vibe along this canal. So many patio/outdoor dining area along the walkway. Unfortunately, all of them were closed due to COVID. Still crowded on the sunny day. So many ice-cream shops around the area. Would love to come back in Summer !
