Before I even started eating, I was already thinking about when I could come back again. Their menu has has a nice variety of Italian dishes, that I look forward to enjoying each of them in time. First we ordered mixed drinks, they were perfect. Our meal was absolutely phenomenal! We ordered meatballs as an appetizer. They were probably the best ones we had ever had. I ordered chicken parmigiana and my husband had veal. Amazing. So good! For dessert I had a bomba (ice cream and chocolate) and my husband had lemon creme brulee. They were absolutely delightful! The staff are very welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. You can tell the owner is very dedicated to his restaurant. I would most definitely recommend Cafe Mio in Westboro to anyone looking for a nice dinner!

Ordered a steak that came out very obviously well done. Asked for medium rare and the chef came out of the kitchen to yell at me and tell me it was a perfectly cooked steak. He came out of nowhere and started to yell at me. Steak then came back 100% uncooked. Waitress agreed the meat was raw so we sent it right back. The guy then kicked us out of the restaurant. Terrible experience. Did not make any comment aside from telling them the steak was way overdone. Never ever experienced this. Will never return. Absolutely my worst experience eating in Ottawa in my whole life. Will NEVER return. Do not eat here. Worst service in Ottawa. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE owner and chef. Also want to reiterate that that the chef sent out raw steak after we sent it back. Like fully uncooked, cold, and, unsafe to eat. Honestly shocking that someone would think this ok.

My sister and her friends brought me to a restaurant I have been wanting to try for some time. Caffe Mio is a beautiful family owned and operated Italian bistro, open for over 20 years. They are located on West Wellington. The ambiance is very romantic for the perfect date night and intimate for a dinner/drinks with friends. The staff were amazing, attentive and made recommendations to help us navigate the wine menu. The food we ordered looked amazing and tasted delicious, we got some bruschetta to share, I got their beet salad and shared some with my sister (because I love her) and each of us got a different main, I got the Gnocchi and added chicken, and the ladies got Gnocchi, Linguine Con Funghi and the Chicken Parmigiana with cream sauce. I am in love with the soft fluffy gnocchi! It was one of the best I have ever tasted, and my beet salad was delicious, I never thought I would find another beet salad to replace the one we lost at Nordik Spa, and that crispy pancetta was to die for, I would have ordered another! I truly enjoyed the food at cafe mio. I ordered a gluten free vegetarian pasta and the plate was filled with high quality fresh veggies which was very impressive. I really enjoyed their approach at pasta as they do not add any heavy sauces or spices , they just stick to the basics and make it as healthy as possible. Also our waiter was delightful. She helped us out with the menu and was able to understand/accommodate my allergy. We were so full we did not get a chance to try the coffee but I will return at some point to do that!

Brunch there is good with big portions. Went back there for dinner. Ordered the beet salad, the steak, the deep fried artichoke. Everything was great and it came really fast. Service was amazing and overall deserves 5 stars.

So the service and atmosphere here are great, but the food was just OK (speaking from the mouth of someone who is a Toronto Italian). My pizza was made on frozen crust (for sure), and the appetizers were ok.

Food was good here. I had the Seafood Pasta. It was good and not too sxpensive. Most of the pastas are quite reasonable in the $20-$25 range. The bathrooms are downstairs so keep that in mind if someone needs handicap accessible bathrooms.

Been coming here for years and the service and food has always been beyond my expectations. The menu is great as well as the atmosphere. Cute patio that’s also spacious. Our server was on the ball was patient and had great input. She got me a mocktail that was off menu and on point. Will continue to come here again.

My friend and I tried Caffe Mio for dinner, and were extremely impressed with the food, service, and the entire experience!! Our server was so sweet and attentive, and made our visit very enjoyable. The food was so incredible and the portions were generous. The calamari was the freshest I’ve ever had, and the meatballs dish was amazing! I cannot wait to come back here with my family to enjoy!

Very good place, probably one of the best restaurant in the area. Quality of the food is perfect. However after Covid and because of the ongoing inflation, their menu prices has increased a lot. Still good memories, so I recommend. 4 stars because of the price for their menu.

Went out for our first date as husband and wife this evening, I have never tasted such fresh pasta in my life. The soup was amazing and the service was impeccable. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a great Italian meal.. the atmosphere is inviting and cozy. Great job guys and hats off to the chef👌🏽

This is my first ever restaurant review. Because I didn't like my dining experience at the Mio Caffe that much. I don't know how to cook, but even I make tastier food at home. The food was bland and tasteless: both the soup and the salad. I mean how can you prepare a salad wrong? And although I didn't like the food at the Mio, but because I thought the service was acceptable and I was being polite, I still left 15% tip an top of the full amount with taxes. But then the waitress gave me the look and didn't say anything ( No Good bye or Thank you , come again) when my party left the table. Never again...

Incredible experience. We were a group of 12 people and from start to finish, this restaurant delivered. The service was wonderful! Lisa treated us like her extended family. Every dish was perfect. The temperature. The flavor. The presentation. Cozy environment. Delicious food. Exceptional service. Don't miss out.

Beet salads was great, spaghetti calabrese was also very good. Both servings were generous.

Service was great, our server was really nice and attentive, and soup of the day was really good (stratiatelle). The bruschetta was very garlicky. The pasta was pretty good (cooked perfectly but the seafood in the linguini was a bit overcooked) but not mind blowing. Ask them for the spicy calabrese sauce - delicious and authentic! The atmosphere is intimate, a cute spot for a date. They brought me a little lemon biscotto with my coffee which was delicious. They also have a front patio which would be great on a warmer day.

Absolutely stellar restaurant - the service is above five star - the perfect amalgam of customer experience focus, knowledge, friendliness & professionalism. Everyone's dishes were delicious, creative and beautifully presented without crazy pricing. Our new favourite place to go to in the city.

I took my girlfriend to this place for the first time and was totally worth it. The vibes itself was over the moon🙏🏼❤️‍🔥 we went there way too many times since the first date. The chicken parm is absolutely delicious. The staff are lovely and friend. Amazing family operated cafe/restaurant and would suggest this place to many others!

The place is really nice and the food and drink are great, BUT… this is not a cafe, and the name is very misleading. When I came to this place I expected a coffee menu, and to be able to sit down with my computer and do a few hours work in a nice atmosphere, instead, I was greeted by a waitress who checked in on me regularly, and kept offering me food, and I don’t blame her. Because this is not a cafe, this is a sit down restaurant with a misleading name. They don’t even have a coffee menu… as a restaurant I think it’s pretty great, but I don’t like that I expected a cafe and instead was roped into a restaurant experience.

Had a delicious brunch for the first time. Their grilled chicken panini is delicious. The egg drop soup is a delicacy. The owner was very friendly and easy to talk to. Will definitely come back again!

My wife who is an Italian food fanatic loves this place. I’m taking her there next week for her birthday. Enough said.

I went here with my best friend yesterday and we were blown away by the quality of the food. We split the Shrimp Diavolo as an appetizer and it was delicious (see photos), and our main plates were the Linguine Con Funghi and Penne Roberto, which I substituted the penne for linguini at no extra charge. I'm a huge foodie and both plates of pasta were among the best I've had in Ottawa. This place is a little on the pricier side but you pay for quality and an obviously experienced chef preparing your meal. Interesting fun fact: the waiter told us that the restaurant's building is over 100 years old!

Being going here for years. More important to support our local businesses at this time. Order the Oceana. Great dinner. Their takeout is also great.

Prosciutto panini was nice, the spicy eggplant really compliments it well. Decent coffee as well.
