Be prepared for a frosty reception if you don't look like you make an annual income over $100,00. I was treated like a thief when I was last in there by one of the employees who followed me to the back of the store while I was browsing then made me give her the item I was carrying because she wanted it at the cash while I was completing my shopping. All under the guise of helping me out. She did not approach any other customer in the store at the time to offer this "assistance" despite there being at least one other person where I was with items in their hands. She never asked if I needed to put it down somewhere (like in a basket perhaps rather than the front cash where she was standing vigil) or if I wanted to leave it at the cash. I did not need any assistance and said so, but I was given no choice in the matter. The message was loud and clear that she didn't trust me and I had to hand over the product I was carrying. Unsettling, totally inappropriate and humiliating to be singled out by her suspicion and stereotyping of who might be a thief. I clearly did not make the grade as a desired customer when wearing cycling clothing that was wet from cycling several kms there in the rain and perhaps slightly disheveled from the ride. Wear your Gucci cycling gear or be prepared to be treated with suspicion and disrespect. After many years shopping there I will be taking my cash down the street to a competitor where I have been treated with nothing but respect by friendly, courteous staff.

Horrible....went in there today and they had a real tyrant at the front door yelling at me to put on her hand sanitizer. When I politely declined she stood over me and told me that if I did not want to put on the hand sanitizer then I would have to put on their plastic gloves. I was going to oblige but then I thought why should I give my hard earned money to a business (especially one in health) that is this afraid of people? They think that we all have the plague. It's a health food store. Absolute nonsense! I took my money right to Rainbow Foods down the street, where there is nothing but wonderful treatment! I suggest if you are in Westboro you take the extra 5 minutes to do the same!

They are one of many in a chain of health stores here in Ottawa. This location is a little smaller and because of that they have less selection then most. The store has a loyalty card program, but I often forget it and the staff never reminds me. I’m giving it three stars because I was browsing the other day and went to the cash to ask a question. Both staff members were having a conversation, and if took a good two minutes for them to stop chatting and help me. I’ve had previous experiences of bad service as well. Update: I was in two weeks ago on a weekend.

Great selection of products but the staff sucks. After finishing my shopping today, I was browsing their essential oils and in my tired daze I didn’t notice that there were little tester bottles. I opened a large bottle to smell it and the woman working immediately yelled at me from all the way across the store “Don’t open those!”. It was absolutely my fault to have not noticed the tester bottles but that was absolutely not the way to handle the situation, either. I doubt that I would have been adressed that way if it was not for the fact that I am a young adult. I don’t appreciate being patronized or yelled at; I will not be returning to this location.

Clean store and good selection but online grocery stores like Natura Market sell similar products for way less. This staff also seems very gloomy and sad to be there.

If you are looking for nutritional advice, go to the Westboro store, and speak to Rita Hakim, RHN. Rita was at Billings Bridge previously, and Westboro is lucky to have her! She is so knowledgeable, warm and approachable, professional and easy to talk to! Highly recommend!

I had a positive experience at this location yesterday with one of the employees, her name is Rita. She was very welcoming as well as friendly, and was able to help me find the products I needed due to her product knowledge and was able to explain it all to me. She provided excellent customer service, and I will be returning to this location in the near future.

We did try a few collagen and protein products and we are quite happy with most of their products... not only their prices are reasonable but also we're supporting local businesses instead of big one that is trying to dominate ... Please think local and support local and small businesses

If you are looking for a qualified, certified and well knowledgeable nutritionist, ask for Ms Rita Hakim. I first met Rita at the Billings bridge location when I was looking from some supplements and had some questions. Rita was the only person to greet me and show any interest in helping me. Her patience, kindness and attentiveness and product knowledge is an invaluable asset to the the company. Since then, I have been going to the Westboro location where Rita has moved to. Had it not been for Rita, I would have been a patron of the healthy planet. The Natural Food Pantry is lucky to have Rita. Businesses need more people like her to represent their establishment. At the store level, the store is always clean, and well maintained and organized.

I want to commend Rita G. Hakim for her thorough knowledge as a holistic nutritionist and professionalism in customer service and support. She has been very helpful to me in my purchases. She goes the extra mile for me to inform me about the product I want and I trust very much her professional opinion. I've been trying to find where I could get elderberries and what in form/how I could incorporate them into my diet for their many health benefits. Luckily there was a herbalist there who suggested buying their organic elderberries (about $10 per 1 cup) to boil in 3 cups of water (1:3), sit in fridge overnight, separate liquid from berries, pour liquid (elderberry juice) into ice cube trays, freeze, and pop one into my smoothie every day. I found that I was able to make a second batch with the berries so now I have my daily dose of elderberries for the next 2 months, for only $10! Totally worth the work.

This place is amazing to get many items that you can't find at your regular grocery store. Some examples include: monk fruit, vitamin k2, pasture raised eggs. The staff are super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the products in the store. Every time I have been in the store I have been greeted warmly and asked if I needed help with anything. In addition they have some awesome keto products.
