An interesting historic residence of two Canadian Prime Ministers. The tour is worth the time to learn more about the home, its residence, and Canada.

Loved the place and the way they have maintained the heritage site. Hard to believe that two of the prime minister's have actually lived there. Must see the piano and the elevators. And the ice tea they offer was really good.

I hadn't been here since the 1980's and have no idea why I waited this long to go back. It's literally 8 minutes from my place! What a phenomenal historic home. Decided to take the guided tour and I highly recommend doing so. It's very much worth the extra couple of dollars. Our guide was outstanding! She was extremely knowledgeable and patient with our questions. This a hidden gem in Ottawa.

This was one of the best museum experiences I have had. The guides were absolutely amazing, they brought the house to life. It was such a pleasure to listen to their stories about the place. So interesting! So welcoming!

Took the guided tour, and then afternoon tea on the veranda. What a wonderful experience. Learned a lot of information about the house and the two Prime Ministers who lived there (Laurier and King). Our tour guide was very informative, and gave us a great tour. Afternoon tea on the veranda was very good. The pastries came from a local supplier, and the quality was superb. They served Mighty Leaf tea, which in my opinion was the only weak point of the whole thing. Weak, as in the tea was literally too weak. But maybe I am nitpicking. I loved the experience, and highly recommend anyone to give it a try! It's an afternoon well-spent.

Although I have lived in Ottawa for many years, I only visited this house for the first time recently. I am very glad that I finally came here as this museum is a true historic gem. The former private residence of former Prime Ministers Laurier and then Mackenzie King, this gorgeous home offers a fascinating look into the lives of two of Canada's most important leaders. It's definitely worth a visit if you are in the National Capital Region.

What a wonderful old home right in town. The main floor wrap-around front porch was grande and enormous. You can imagine guests visiting the Lauriers and Kings being entertained outside on a temperate summer night. This is a home steeped in Canadian National history and importance. I hope it stays protected. Research into its glory days contents and visitors to the site would be a great expansion to the Nationhood of this country. There is mix no pay/paid parking on the streets in all directions from site. Immediately across the street is free 1 hour parking. If there is no wait that's about how long you need to have a good look around. Bathrooms on-site. The fee on-line is not the fee at the door to get in. It says $4.50/adult, kids under 17 free, on the website. At the door, the volunteers in the green shirts, explained they don't control the website, it was $ 9/person including our kids 5-12 year olds. Luckily we already have the Discovery Pass or we would have turned around.

Beautiful interior/exterior. A beautiful collection of artifacts. And very knowledgeable staff. Also, a highlight was the elevator to get my partner to each floor.

I'm sorry, but 15 years ago I had an excellent tour with an excellent guide that prompted me to recommend this museum to many. Visiting again, I retract all recommendations. The guides were awkward and uninformed and I had to ask/prompt them on info I had gleaned 15 years ago. Also, much has changed. Rooms closed off, things were moved, Pearson exhibit gone. Then, it was an hour plus tour, this time we were done and out in 20 minutes. Can't say we enjoyed it at all.

The house was really interesting to see and full of memorabilia. The guides were awesome and really helped make it entertaining and informative for my two young children. Make sure to ask about the Xplorer program if you are bringing children!

The house is full of information on two prime ministers and our links to both world wars. Our kids loved playing and the kitchen and completing the explorer books. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.

Beautiful house with interesting history. A shame more of it isn't open to the public, but still worth a visit! We were surprised to learn as much about William Lyon Mackenzie King as about Laurier.

I was at the Laurier House National Museum here in Ottawa with my friend in 2017 for afternoon tea with my friend. Both of us took a tour of the house with spacious rooms, beautiful pieces of furniture, and the entire house reminded me of the spacious house in Quebec.

I did the ghost investigation at night. The atmosphere at night completely changes Laurier house. I won't go into too much detail as I don't want to ruin your experience, but I will say that it was an experience like no other and I recommend it to anyone wanting a ghostly experience. A special shout out to the hostess of the night. She was amazing.

My husband and I visited the Laurier House for a ghostwalk experience and had a great time. The guides gave quite a bit of background information on the house and its many occupants over the years. The experience itself was filled with many spooky stories and strange occurrences! I definitely reccomend visiting the house during the day, and then returning at night to discover a different, darker side to the famous building.

Great staff, interesting history facts, lovely stories around the inhabitants of this house and a nice Solarium where to have tea with inspired shortbread cookies all makes for a very pleasant experience. I definitely recommend it ! Special thanks to Nathalie (Natalia) who freely volunteer to make the tour in Spanish for my mother with keen enthusiasm.

Afternoon tea + walk about the house later on. The tea was good at a $16 price point, but there were a few things that bothered me. One was that they originally gave one of my baskets to a different table, who opened and looked through it before alerting the staff that it was the wrong basket. So they took it from their table and put it on mine. This kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I understand they probably only have a limited amount of pastries, but I've worked in service before and you would never give a plate which had been touched by one table to another. It's just a sanitary thing. The other was that it was a bit of a hassle to have to go up to the little self-serve table every time I wanted to add milk or sugar to my tea, and the tea itself was weak even after a long steep. These are not issues that would prevent me from going back, I intend to just because the tour of the house was so nice, but I didn't appreciate being given a basket which had been opened and potentially picked through by someone else. That's just my honest take.

Very historic place to visit in Sandy Hill in Ottawa. Learn about the past prime ministers of Canada and also the history of the place in Canada's national capital. Its located in Sandy Hill which is rich in history and was the place rich and famous of Ottawa lived. Big mansions of the past prime ministers and barons of Ottawa. Still a nice place to live with nice parks and resturants.
