We took our kids, 5 and 6. They had an absolute blast! Highly recommend choosing the dress up option because our two loved playing with their pirate swords and hats. The crew did a wonderful job telling stories and singing songs, all the while in "pirate" accents, which really added to the fun.

My family and I had a blast watching an evening performance of Grey Ghost: Prisoners of Souls and Masts by Paper Picture Productions Inc. Watching a live play on a pirate ship while sailing on the Rideau River was heaps of fun. I would definitely recommend seeing this show if you have the time.

I went on a pirate ship ride with my mermaid friends, and we had an AWESOME time. The pirates were hilarious and so entertaining. We all felt like we were part of the show, since mermaids and pirates go together! I would love to do this again sometime.

We brought our 3 and 5 year old for a PIRATE adventure today and it was so much fun! The whole crew did a super job at entertaining the kids and the adults. Loved every minute of it! I'm definitely going to recommend this to other families who are looking for a unique adventure.

Thank you, Gnarly Marly and Hammerhead Holly for a fantastic performance, and of course the wonderful performer who was steering the ship - I wish I could remember her name! The gentleman at the shop was a great character and got us checked in quickly and provided us with our pre-paid Captain's Costume - all while remaining in character and providing excellent customer service. I highly recommend this experience for your family if you are in the Ottawa area. 5 Stars! Thank you.

I had an AMAZING pirate adventure yesterday with my friend and her granddaughter. From the moment we arrived we were folded into the adventure. We got to choose our pirate names (I was Rainbow Princess) and our tattoo (a blue anchor adorned my cheek) then it was time for fun and games before boarding the ship. The staff was engaging, attentive and SO MUCH FUN!! The children were completely absorbed in the story and participated willingly and enthusiastically in the dancing, cavorting and silliness. They actively searched for the hidden pirate treasure and the missing Pirate Pat. The beautifully costumed captain was also included in the story, exciting the children when he appeared on deck to interact with his pirate crew and "newly acquired cohorts". The highlight of our adventure was using the water cannons (which was the real reason I signed up for this adventure - along with being able to dress as a pirate in public!) but some of the children were having so much fun that they preferred to dance with the crew then to shoot the cannons - which is a true testament to the ability of the crew to actively engage the children. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE of my pirate adventure, but my most favorite part (surprisingly even better than shooting the water cannons) was being invited to participate as the witch in the story. The crew had the ability to enchant the children and adults alike - which shows they have a true gift, since this is not always an easy task. I had SUCH A GREAT TIME, that I tipped the crew TWICE! I gave a tip when I bought my tickets, but I was SOOOO IMPRESSED by them, that on my way out, I tipped them another $20 - now THAT shows how WONDERFUL they truly are!!! I am going to recommend Pirate Life Ottawa to all my friends and family with children and grandchildren. Thank you SO MUCH Pirate Life Ottawa for making yesterday a most memorable day!! This is a day I will never forget.

Ahoy matey. I have heard great things about Pirate Life's adventure parties. I also have seen a full crew of young pirates water cannoning a despicable pirate for his nasty deeds and hear echos of their howling laughter on board the ship. It is an excellent place for kids parties. But I also want to let others know of another treat Pirate life offers. That is their live music entertainment performed by local musicians in their small theatre. They have long wooden benches and serve beer for your comfort. It is a great place to relax, listen to tunes and enjoy the sunset. I hope you come see it too especially after being stuck inside due to covid restrictions. The kids I was with, loved it. Parking is free, you just get a parking pass from the booth. The small ship is great place for pictures. The activities before boarding were fun. make sure kids go to the toilet before you get there. Bring water and sunscreen. There is no beverages provide on the boat but the booth on shore has everything for a price. Ther pirates are very entertaining for kids 8 and under. The kids loved playing with the water canons and hunting for a treasure chest.

Also it is a great idea to take own pirate accessories since kids really want to have something and you may need to buy there. After seeing Pirate Life at the Toronto Waterfront over the years, I had wanted to try it for a long time and was waiting till my kids were the right age. This summer they are 7.5 and 3.5 years old and so the time was right! Along with my two kids and their grandmother, we booked tickets for a Friday morning booking. As suggested in the wonderful email that comes in after your booking, we decided to go all out and dress up - it really added to the fun! From the moment we arrived, the staff at Pirate Life were wonderful and in character. We got pirate 'tattoos' while we waited to board the pirate ship. We sailed around, totally immersed in the story being told and had the best time (even though it was a tad rainy/windy). The children LOVED firing the water cannons, and really loved it when Mom and grandma got pulled into some of the skits with the pirates. A 10/10, a must-do for sure! We will do this again next year and I'm looking into taking a group as we loved it so much.

We had a great time on the pirate ship! The staff did an excellent job especially considering they have to put on the show with less people given the current limits. My girls, 7, 5, and 3 loved the show and spraying the water canons. I would say, depending on your child, 7 or 8 might be the upper age limit for this (or maybe just until they can put on the fully staffed show again). We were then taught some pirate shanties and away we went looking for treasure! The actors onboard were so entertaining and involved various members of the audience to take part of the storyline, which was complete with a battle on deck!
