This clinic and the triage is awful. My Doctor and her staff IN the clinic are great, though. But, the reception and everything related to the clinic as a business is probably one of the worst in a city full of sub-par, busy clinics. The owners should be ashamed, and more so, investigated for actively recruiting patients and not providing any follow-up care or channel to the doctor. I've never seen a more disrespectful customer intake system. Their inability to manage simple phone calls and intake is likely going to kill someone. No joke, even with a Doctor, it take me weeks to get an appointment with my family doctor. It's all just getting through to reception though, not my Doctor or her staff. They do not respond to emails and never return voicemails. I cannot count on them to get simple prescription refills in less than a month, what good is that? The receptionist at the front door is consistently rude, often wrong, and really doesn't seem to be useful. I get that it's hard, busy, unforgiving work and maybe that owners are cheap, and treat their staff poorly. Update 2022 - Things have improved here for those lucky enough to have a doctor with response times no more than 48 hours at the moment. The front door staff member is now gone. The walk in and blood clinic are still shamefully slow and clearly understaffed. The space in the building is poorly used and it feels crowded and dingy. Still, it has gotten better to some degree and my doctor and her staff remain top tier.

Modern, clean clinic with friendly staff. Parking is $3, cash and credit/debit accepted. If you have no insurance there's a $65 fee (cheaper than most places). They don't have ultrasound but they do have a bloodwork lab. I got there at 9:30am and there were only three other people. It fills up at around 10am so go early if you're a walk-in. Otherwise after 5pm is also pretty slow. Doctor was kind and helpful, same goes for the pharmacists.

What ever happened to patient care. Not at this clinic. The phones are not answered, they do not fax prescriptions and the receptionists are totally clueless. There is a severe lack of support staff and don't even mention qualified staff. I get the impression that the the most Important mission of this clinic is to make money, patient care being the last priority. Keep away or lower your expectations to the lowest level possible.

My partner and I spent years looking for a family doctor. We were finally able to get one and were quite happy. We don't go to the doctor very often and recently called to make an appointment and was told that our doctor moved out of the country back in July and no one informed us. Furthermore they couldn't help us at all and the only option was to go to the walk in clinic. This is absolutely terrible service, not informing us that our doctor left is absolutely inexcusable. It takes a long time to get a family doctor in the Ottawa Valley and we could have put our name on other waitlists in the past few months. I would not recommend going here.

The assistant is very bad. Customer service is worst. They say that you can book your appointment online but when you go to their website there is no where to find this option. Their fax maxine never works. Very disappointed. I gave it 5 starts so that everyone will read my bad experience. The Dr's are good but their services and availability is terrible

I’ve been a patient here for two years, never have I once received any form of cordial communication or pleasant service from reception, just cold attitude and unpleasant patient care. I just called to see my doctor about a needle stick I received at work and I was informed by the seemingly apathetic receptionist that my doctor has actually left the practice and no one notified me. At all. I was told there’s nothing else they can do for me and that I cannot see another doctor and to go to the hospital. I have medications that need to be renewed by a doctor and I’m on my last refill, if I didn’t find out about this now I would have been stuck with no medication! This is so unacceptable, patients should be at LEAST notified if their doctor had to leave the practice. I understand if the other doctors can’t take more patients but no one explained any of this to me so I’m just assuming that’s what they meant when they said “we can’t do anything for you”. I am incredibly disappointed.

Update: Not a walkin clinic any more, they closed the walk in clinic on feb. 1st, 2023. Long waiting line to get in and of course long waiting time to see a doctor. It might be just this clinic or it might be the health system in Ontario. In any case, this walk in clinic is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 12 then from 1 to 5. You need to get here one hour before opening if you really need to see a doctor. Don't expect any courtesy at this place, particularly from the "LifeLabs" attendance, the worst ever, no human empathy at all. The clinic is located in the basement, waiting room is very small and shared with the lab and pharmacy. You can hear the pharmacy answering the phone, the clinic and lab receptionists asking all kinds of questions to clients and the footsteps on the first floor, all at the same time. No hands sanitizer or mask available here.

It was a good clinic when they had a walk in clinic also. Too bad they closed it. My family doctor Dr Katanda is great but wait times for appointments are long. Many walk in clinics that are still open in Ottawa only take patients that are registered with them already. I hope they will re-open the walk in clinic or many patients will have to go to other clinics. Recently, there's a big issue with this clinic. They never answer the phone and there is no voice mail or waiting time to talk to somebody. You can request an appointment online but they have to call you back or you will have to go in person to take an appointment.

Stay away at all cost. Even though some of the doctors are great but I wouldn’t even refer my worst enemy to this clinic. Incompetent employees who treat patients with disrespect. Seems like they are running a business to profit and not to serve. They ask for money at any chance they get and if you question it they don’t have a common justification. Each admin has her own way. Never pay what ask, always get an informed and legal explanation instead of made up lies. No wonder many doctors leave this awful place after a short period.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. This office is run by a family and therefore, they do not hold one another accountable for their incompetence. My daughter had her 1 year vaccine appointment scheduled 2 weeks before her first birthday. Being as they are a family office, they should of advised me that they cannot administer the vaccination until my daughter is officially 1 year old. At the same time, I had a personal appointment booked immediately after my daughter's appointment which they apparently didn't have in their calendar. Beyond wasting my time, the recptionist and nurse did not take any accountability for their mistake and proceeded to reschedule the appointment. Today attended the appointment and I was told that it was at 11am rather than 1pm. I specifically remember scheduling it at 1pm because it is in between my daughter's naps. The nurse refused to speak to me, they resufed to let me to speak to a manager and did not apologize or offer to reconcile the issue. Unfortunately, I will have to go for the 3rd time on Friday to receive the vaccine. I will be moving my families files to another office. Their service is unorganized and they are rude. It takes months to even see a doctor. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone, even if you are desperate to have a doctor given the shortage. You can see the reviews and poor 2 star rating speak for itself.

Was a patient from 2019 to 2022. Original doctor moved out of the country and we were switched to a new doctor without issue. The intake for reception needs to be improved. More than once I have put my health card in the little bucket and they didn't see me do it or forgot about it, and didn't even LOOK AT my card for over 20 minutes. I moved out of the Ottawa area in November 2022 and informed them of this immediately, but they did not take me off of their patient list for over 6 months which prevented me from getting a new local provider. I had to call health care connect to remove my patient status manually.

DO NOT go for walk in. Came in the morning and they said they weren't accepting walk ins for the morning anymore and told me to come back after 1pm. I got there at 1:10pm and then said they weren't taking any more walk ins. ONLY decent visits have been appointments with my family doctor. My doctor is great! Otherwise this place is unreliable. I still have to book my appointments in office because there's very low guarantee you'll get through to someone by phone.

This is absolutely by far the WORST “medical centre” I have ever dealt with. I understand times are tough but I can never get a hold of them and when I do they are severely rude and hang up the phone without saying goodbye. Where did these “secretaries” go to school? When I’ve gone in person I hear the secretaries complaining about how they are understaffed and overwhelmed. Not their faults but they are horrible professionals anyways. When I told them I switched pharmacies they still faxed my prescription to my old one and then got so rude when I asked them to send it to my current pharmacy. The doctor is a whole other story for the college of physicians I would say not a google review.

Dr. Alsaffar & Nurse Anne are the best! Always get us in ASAP when we need urgent appointments, very thorough & kind. Everytime we interact I leave feeling grateful to have found such caring practitioners. We won the jackpot when we were accepted as patients!!!

Honestly, this clinic should be ashamed of their customer service. When trying to book an appointment, you'll never get through their phone lines unless you repeatedly redial. It took many days of calling a handful of times before someone finally answered. Most days they won't answer their phones and so, we'll try emailing to schedule an appointment. It says they take at least two business days to get back to you; Try two weeks instead. After numerous attempts, the earliest appointment we could schedule was over a month away. At that point it feels too late and it forces us to go to a another clinic in the meantime. Sincerely disappointed.

The most disorganized clinic I’ve ever seen. The owner only cares how to exploit inexperienced Doctors to make money fast. They have no respect for patients’ time. You can’t leave voicemail, they never return email. You can’t reach your Doctor by phone.

ive been going to this clinic for 7yrs, staff and dr do there best, because of covid they tried to accomodate everyone to there ability. just like other clinic there is a wait for walk in and they are limited on what they can do. And just like other clinic there is a shortage of staff. slmc has been open all through the pandemic ,while other clinic closed there doors , retired or went bankrupt. it so easy to blame the doctors or staff, if patient dont get want they want. i've seen staff being sweared at yelled at threaten, just because they have policy they have to follow i give this clinic thumbs up for there patience and understanding

Staff doesn't care, don't answer the phone, you can sit in the waiting room and watch them ignore the phone. The doctors know, but say they can't do anything about it. The only doctor who seems to get good "reviews" owns the business, surprise. You have to pay for parking at his property, to see his doctors. I had to change doctors three times at the clinic because the doctors all leave the clinic when they can. As many other people have said on here one of the doctors just up and left the country, nobody at the clinic told his patients, and wouldn't release his patients for months so they could find another doctor. The pharmacist is caring and professional and has nothing to do with the business.

My experience with St Laurent Medical Centre, the Doctors and receptionist staff have all been exceptional. I believe that we’re blessed to have this medical team. When I read any of the negative reviews, I see issues that are widespread in our health system because across the board we have too few workers who are being overwhelmed.

Coming from out of Ontario this was one of the only clinics that would accept my health card. It was super fast for myself and partner to be able to get a family doctor. Our family doctor then left the practice but we were able to be transferred to another doctor. Dr.Omar has been absolutely amazing. He continues to push and find new alternatives to find answers, I could not be more grateful.

The Doctors at this clinic are fantastic, however after going in to the walk-in clinic “ no primary dr. To get some regular blood work done. They called me back for an appointment. I went back after waiting for 40 minutes I was told to fill out a form as I was to see a different Dr. as I went into the doctor he informed me that my appointment was not with him but upstairs. My question is why couldn’t front desk tell me this? As I finally got to see the proper person I asked her if she would take me on as a patient. Her reply was no I have other patients waiting. My reaction was that they reason she didn’t take me on was because I was late. Now I’m back to square one at looking for a Dr.

    * I have updated my review as my issues have been resolved* and the staff was extremly helpful ! I am a big fan of this clinic for its hours ,walk on clinic, doctors and having bloodwork on site. The pharmacist on site is also amazing. I used to have Dr. Crosby who was amazing and helpful and listened to my concerns, as someone with health anxiety it was incredibly helpful. I look forward to meeting my new doctor as Dr. Crosby has left the clinic.

My family and I moved to Ottawa in 2019 and had to find a new doctor. We were very lucky to find Dr. Omar. He is kind and really listens. He works with his patients to find the necessary solutions to ensure their physical and mental wellbeing. The ladies at reception have always been accomodating and helpful.

They don’t deserve even one star! Rude receptionist who cut the phone during the conversation! I can’t believe such an unprofessional actions in a medical centre. I went there 4 months ago as walking clinic patient because I don’t have family physician. I am resident of Quebec so I paid all cost of my pocket actually for nothing. No follow up for my blood work result, no call from the doctor, no copy to me even after repeated phone calls. They denied to send the results of the my blood work to my gynaecologist either. When I was there, the receptionist tried to get a primary medical history. Loud enough so all the people in clinic could hear you. They don’t know the basic subjects of confidentiality and still working as health care!! So disappointing and under qualified. It seems there is no supervisor in clinic at all.

BY FAR THE WORST WALK-IN CLINIC IN THE CITY!!! BEWARE! Terrible attitude and customer service from the front desk staff, only open 2 days a week on first-come basis meaning YOU WILL WAIT 3 HOURS or more. Refused to refill my DIABETES medication without coming in to waste a dat in the walk-in even though I have been a registered patient with their physician for years getting my prescription renewed automatically. They were supposed to follow up on x-rays and never did, had to call them for 2 weeks to no answer only to be told i need to come in, to then be told I had a fracture and need to go to the hospital. WHAT A MISERABLE EXPERIENCE! WASTE YOUR TIME ELSEWHERE....I promise you wont be satisfied here. Read the other reviews and see the pattern.

My doctor left the practice and I was assured they would place me with another doctor at the practice. This never happened even though I’ve called time and time again. Seems like I am not the only one in this boat judging by the reviews. Such a shame to be in the medical profession and be so horrible to the people in your care.

Never. Go. Here! 1) There is a toll gate for paid parking but no tokens. Good luck getting out of the parking lot once youre in! (Fortunately I was able to park on a nearby street as I was locked in myself on Wednesday) 2) After hearing people wait up to 60min before opening to be seen, I went 40min early. Despite this, I waited from 8:20am to 12:15pm to see the doctor. 3) The reception area is crowded and shared with the pharmacy. Due to a designated seating section for certain patients and high occupancy, I was seated outside of the reception area next to the elevator. 4) In an effort to circulate/sanitize the air, large box-shaped circulation fans are packed in narrow corridors that are loud and are uncomfortable to stand next to/behind while waiting in line. 5) When my name was called, they called me by first name once, and I did not understand the pronounciation of the doctor. I was waiting and listening for my name to be called but I heard nothing. I was forgotten about despite being in plain sight of the receptionist. The receptionist literally has a box that says "Take a number" on her desk full of number cards, that she could use to avoid this issue entirely, but instead, I sat until everyone else was helped. As I had to take a covid test, I wasnt sure if my priority had shifted, but it turned out to be the negligence of the staff that resulted in my wait time. Obviously I should have inquired after not being helped after some time, but I had not eaten breakfast and was avoiding confrontation so that I could avoid lashing out at the staff. Sue me, for thinking the staff wouldnt forget me.

They cancelled my son's scheduled booster and flu shot appointment because I'm the father and against giving antibiotics when it's not needed because it becomes like a poison killing bacteria. I had to make an appointment to CHEO because they fear malpractice lawsuit. February 06 Turning down a sick boy with a rash that you swear to care not informing patients parents termination until day of care because of fear of repercussions is despicable beyond repair. You could've redeemed yourself Dr. Omar Alsaffar. You failed my son to care more about reputation than life. You greedy (S O B ) I urge all Canadians to seek medical elsewhere.

Dr. Omar Alsafar provides top notch medical care. Haven and Kim are excellent receptionists and deserve raises. Some of the best healthcare I have ever gotten post pandemic. Edit: They no longer offer walk in services. Also for existing patients, the best way to secure an appointment is by contacting them on their website.

Dr. Ghosh is dismissive, never seems to have a mask that fits her, and can't be bothered to take 30 seconds to find out who I am before she calls my name. I was there to discuss a disability SHE diagnosed me with, and she couldn't even be bothered to read her own diagnosis.

HORRIBLE SERVICE, I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!!! The DOCTOR and the attendants are EXTREMELY rude!!!!! I spent 3 hours in line for the doctor to spend 3 minutes evaluating me and saying that I have nothing if I wasn't feeling anything I wouldn't need to come here! This is disrespectful to the patient!!

A month ago I called to book an appointment with Dr. Gosh, my family doctor at St. Laurent Medical, only to learn she had moved back to England. Considering that Dr. Gosh had already left the Clinic some months ago, it is inexcusable that I was not informed sooner and left to wait for another family doctor to accept me. This is not a criticism of Dr. Gosh who has every right to work wherever she wishes, but that of the organizational competency of the Clinic. Previously I had extreme difficulties to book or change an appointment at the Clinic as no one answered the phone and I was unable to leave a message. Unfortunately, this Clinic is just another sad reminder of the broken mess that is our "Free" medical system.
