Staff act as "know it alls" and are very dismissive. For a place offering such expensive goods and products you'd think they would have at least half decent staff. I will not be coming back and most certainly not recommending to even someone I don't like. No one should have to be spoken to like a child who knows nothing.

Avoid this overpriced and poor quality "jewelry store" with a rude manager in charge at Rideau Centre Ottawa. Bought a pair of $249 dollars earrings which turned my skin dark due to its poor 10 karat gold quality which the manager had said had "never turned anyone's skin dark" and that a refund was out of the question as it had been in contact with my skin. Such excuse for not giving a refund is extremely poor and bad business practice as all earrings and jewelry are handled by people by shop workers and all customers who request to see them and even "try them on".

It was my birthday when I visited this store and they were so helpful in finding what I was looking for. They cleaned all my jewelry and made it all look like new. I was very pleased with their customer service and it was a pleasure dealing with them.

Best jewellery shopping experience we have ever had. Courtney and the store manager were very patient, nice and helpful and answered our million questions. Would definitely recommend this store to anyone. Will definitely return.

Absolute WORST customer service of all time *after* purchasing from them. Could have kept a sale but instead will be letting every person I know to stay far far away from this terrible establishment. Shame on you.

Wasn’t sure what to expect when I walked in the store but the young man Oscar was a great help, he asked questions about what i’m looking for and was nice about the whole transaction. In the end I got a necklace for my wife and he was a large part of the reason why. Would 100% recommend going to this store and seeing him when looking for some jewelry.

Went in there with my boyfriend to take a look at some rings, just wanted to get some ideas for the future. Courtney came up and helped us right away. She made us feel so welcomed and she was incredibly kind. Even though we didn't end up getting anything she gave my boyfriend her card and to get her help anytime.

Refund policy is a sham. They first tried to tell me I had exceeded the 30 day return period. When I pointed out I was returning a ring on day 26, they flipped the narrative to "the ring is worn and used and we won't take it back". (the ring was not worn once). Be very wary of this place, the refund policy is written to allow for this scam to take place. Also, as many other reviews have pointed out, the manager at this location is a psycopath, and extremely rude.

Jewelry not in stock in all sizes and even not all styles. Wanted me to pay before trying actual ring on, with no option to exchange. During size check clerk named Joe jabbed metal sizer so hard, finger was red and sore for the rest of the day. Also has poor customer service skills and attitude overall. Didn’t buy a ring at this location, went to Tiffany’s instead for a bit less desired style, where staff is consistently friendly and got a 2.5 times more expensive ring. Will never return to Michael Hill based on this bad experience and share it with everyone I know. I used to work for a different jewelry company, this is shockingly beneath industry standards. Avoid!

Staff are rude, management is abrupt and rude. Jewelry quality is sub-par at best. Peoples Jewellers is just a few steps away folks, choose wisely!

I have bought a lot of jewelry from this location. However this was the first time I request the ring to be polished. Unfortunately I had to wait 4 months for the ring to come back to the store because of COVID. Which I understand. What I don't understand is when I got the ring back they left two big scratches on the inside of the ring. I understand people make mistakes but these were not small. The agent is now sending it off to get re polished. Acting like they are doing me a favor by making it free. I have a PCP account. So it is already free.

A big thank you to Kayla for helping me pick out the perfect engagement ring. I went to the store in October to browse around, and she took her time in considering my budget, needs and explaining the details of each ring I was interested in. Most importantly, she did not pressure me into making a forced purchase, but rather she provided me her contact information if I had any questions and laid out the purchase process if I ever came back. I returned in December and was lucky enough to find what I wanted with an additional discount. Kayla was extremely transparent, knowledgeable and honest in explaining the financing process, along with the warranty plans the store offers. I even learned a few new things about lab grown versus natural diamonds which was a huge factor for my budgetary concerns. Thank you for making my purchase extremely easy and satisfying!

I went in today as my teenage daughter was looking to purchase a gift for me. Although she didn’t make a purchase, the lady (wish I knew her name) was incredible. She treated my daughter with dignity and respect. She showed her several options within her price range and was genuinely happy to do so. This doesn’t always happen when a teenager goes into a store, especially a store with higher priced items, where an employee knows they are not going to make a big sale. I will definitely consider returning to this location in the future, simply because of how wonderful this employee was and how she made my daughter feel.

Good service. Bought my wedding band here and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They sent out the ring to be resized which was done quickly and looks like a great quality job.

i went into michael hill at rideau center looking to get the first chain. the team welcomed me with love and showed me options in both gold and silver chains. I decided to get silver curb chain because of the chains are rhodium dipped in white gold.

Kayla and Andrea were simply amazing. Couldn't have made our experience better, especially in light of difficulties with other jewelries! Thanks to those two, we were able to get exactly what we needed.

Bought my wife a beautiful yellow gold bracelet for our anniversary yesterday. She hinted that she wanted a bracelet but didn't specify what type. The store manager Joe, put my worries at ease by selecting the right bracelet with the diamond encrusted charm. The font selection and placement for our anniversary date and initials on the charm was perfect. My wife cried and was very happy. Thanks Oscar for amazing service! After asking to see options for chains, he showed me all available lengths, links and walked me through the different gold and silver alternatives and their benefits. Oscar gave me a great price while sales were on for a 10 karat gold chain. When I wasn’t sure about purchasing that day, he put the chain aside until my next visit when I decided to buy it. Overall great sales experience and will definitely be buying any chains and jewelry from here in the future.

Oscar and the management were amazing helping me. I am a university student and I was looking to get my girlfriend a gift for Christmas. Oscar was great helping me find a necklace perfect for her and being understanding of my budget making sure that I could get a fantastic deal. I was super happy with the necklace and pricing and my girlfriend loved it as well.

I usually don’t like going into jewelry stores because as a younger customer, most employees don’t acknowledge me or treat me different. As soon as I walked in to the store I was greeted and was helped right away. I was helped by Jensen H. She was such a great sales person and super helpful when I was shopping for a birthday gift. Honestly it was great customer service and I will be back to shop for more!

Had the best service with Kayla today! My fiancé and I went in looking for wedding bands. She was super helpful and knowledgeable and made the entire experience effortless! A really lovely person to work with and so friendly. We loved our rings and were sold instantly but the great service is what really solidified our decision.
