Never make a purchase from this company if you want your ring to be serviced in the future. The service I recieved here was frankly horrible. I came in to get a ring resized and appraised but was forced to wait 3 weeks just to be told it would cost $4000 for to make the adjustments. My grandmother got her engagement ring from here in the 70s and it has been advertised that Birks will service any ring bought there at any time. I brought it in to get it assessed and resized. The clerk at the store told me that they might not be able to get the ring resized down a few sizes because she didn't know if they still did work on the metal in this ring, despite it having been purchased from Birks. I was told that I would be contacted in two weeks after it was determined whether the adjustments could be made on the ring or not. After not hearing anything from them for more than three weeks I decided to contact them myself and find out what had happened. Someone was supposed to have contacted me with a quote as to the cost but I had not recieved any email or phone call from then with that quote. I have since been given a call from the outlet letting me know that they cannot resize the ring without remaking part of it, which would cost $4000 (the ring itself is likely worth less than that). This is completely unacceptable, I was forced to wait three weeks with no contact from Birks just to be told they can't make the repairs without charging me $4000 to remake the ring.

I was really pleased with my service from this store. I dealt with a charming lady named Elizabeth who was really helpful. I bought a great Canadian designed Birks 135th anniversary watch. The watch is amazing. It's a mechanical watch made by the Swiss manufacturer Alpina with design by Birks. The watch was more than 50% off as part of a black Friday/cyber Monday sale. Despite the fact that they were not making much money on the sale, they ordered it in for me from another store in Toronto. They seemed genuinely happy to see me get a great deal. For my part, I'm so pleased to get a great Canadian watch from a store that has a such a long Canadian pedigree. I'm far happier with this watch than with any Rolex and so is my bank account.

Great experience! When I began shopping for an engagement ring I knew I wanted a diamond and ring that was mined, polished and set all in Canada. I worked with Fay who allowed me to search their inventory for a ring with not only an excellent cut, but with the right cut specifications I was looking for to get that "fire" and "sparkle" out of the diamond! Overall, a wonderful experience and I would recommend both BIRKS and Fay!

My wife and I spent some time looking at watches, the service was fantastic! The sales people are genuinely interested and excited about the products they sell, which is a nice change from the higher pressure sales out there. We didn't realise it but they stayed open an extra 15 minutes just for us. Can't say enough about them just really great and knowledgeable people!

Her expertise and knowledge of diamonds is second-to-none; and her patience and caring attitude makes her the perfect professional anyone should go see when shopping for diamonds.

My experience was pretty good. The staff is friendly and the store has a nice selection. I find the prices fair and reasonable. I’m very pleased with my diamond tennis bracelet, although I did need to send it in twice as the sizing was not correct the first time. However, that is not the fault of the store, but Birks’ repair department itself. I would suggest Birks for your diamond jewelry needs. The watch selection is also excellent.

Very very friendly and helpful staff, the Asian lady(I think her name was Fiona) helped my sister in law pick out a wedding band. She was extremely patient and helpful, explaining all the different aspects of diamonds, rings... Will definitely recommend!

We have shopped at Birks for years and continue to do so. All the staff at the Rideau Centre location are exceptional and the pieces are beautiful. Exceptional quality and they have most recently brought in some modern unique pieces which is a welcome change when you want something a little different than the traditional. I was looking for a diamond pendant and originally chose a different one than the one I bought and they were so wonderful in bringing them in to see before making my final decision. This is what customer service should be. Alex and Elaine were both wonderful to deal with and I am thrilled with my new piece of jewelry! Thank you both for your help with choosing my piece!

I had Alex help me out today, he did an amazing job, showed me all the items I wanted to see and had a wealth of knowledge on the different products. He was very patient as he helped me browse and was great throughout the purchase process. If you need to buy some high end jewelry in Ottawa this is the place.

My fiancé and I stopped by Maison Birks in Ottawa at the Rideau Centre over the weekend to look at & purchase a special engagement watch. Alex Giroux, the store director, took such good care of us. He took the time to walk us through all the information, the product, the guarantee, etc... He made this an incredible and unforgettable experience for us! The level of customer service we received was unmatched and has turned us into lifelong Cartier and Maison Birks customers and we will make a point of buying all of our future jewelry at this store. Highly recommend.

One of the best watch boutiques in all of Ottawa. Friendly relaxed atmosphere with great staff - offering a range of sought after watch brands such Grand Seiko, Cartier, Frederique Constant and more. If they don't have a model in store they are more than happy to help source it from their carried brands. The sales staff seems to really enjoy watches and are more than happy to show them off to new customers.

Best store in town for luxury watch enthusiasts and first time buyers. Staff were very knowledgable and approachable and they created an all around positive shopping experience for me and my wife. The store can get pretty busy at times so we found stopping by on off hours (mornings) helped us avoid longer wait times to talk with our AD. Recently went in the store with my son who had just left work, so dressed up pretty much normal, I knew what I was looking for and did my research and they had the product I wanted. I drove all the way downtown for it which I hate going downtown but I knew it was the only place that had what I was looking for. Walked in this afternoon and one employee was helping out someone else and another employee saw us coming in and never asked if we needed help with anything. We browsed the store for bit still no attention. I guess we didn’t look like we could afford anything in that store because my son had his dirty work clothes on and I didn’t look fancy enough. Jokes on you, I went to la maison Monaco and found what I was looking for and believe me you couldn’t carry this quality product in your store if you tried.
