The worst experience of my life. Up until my terrible experience, I had questioned some questionable information they were providing to me. My dog had gotten bitten by a tick, so I decided to have him tested to besure he did not contract lime desease. Please keep in mind they had up until now provided all care to "Sergeant". I had noticed on an earlier visit that Sergeant had a muzzle on. I did not understand this as he had just had surgery and was still groggy. I saw this by accident when the girl went to the back, I saw through the door. There was no need to have him muzzled at that time. I didn't say anything about this. Skip ahead now to when I arrived for a blood test. I arrived along with my adult son. My dog was taken inside as I was waiting in the hallway with others. I could hear my dog was wimpering , not barking. Next an assistant beings him out to me, saying they could not give him the test as he had bitten three people including her. I saw no signs on her that she had been bitten, and I was in shock to hear this. If they put the muzzle on my dog when he was sedated, why not when he is fully awake. I would not have objected to this. I was also embarrassed by the fact the lady said this infront of a group of people. I was advised sergeant needed to take a sedating medication and return him the next day. I was still trying to come to terms with the biting. I agreed to buy the medication and return him the next day. Once I arrived home I was still bothered by what was said to me. I called back to the clinic and ask who my dog bit, how serious it was? Suddenly no one would admit to anything, saying they knew nothing about it. This was just 30 mins of me being there. I ask that when I arrive the next day that I could speak with a manager, it was agreed but never happened. She never came to speak with me. My son went in and held my dog while he received the test, my dog did not get sedated from the medication and never made any attempt to bite anyone while my son was there. I knew now that they had lied to me as they did not have the patients to tend to him with kind hands. It was easier just to accuse him of biting. I have now found a compassionate clinic for my baby. While the request was made for his medical records, the new clinic was informed I had an agressive dog. They were so supprised that in fact he was the complete opposite . The vet came out and took the time to tell me what a nice dog I had and he could not understand why #bankstreetanimalhospital would say otherwise. All I can say is don't trust, their front is fake and you have no idea what they are doing to your animal behind close doors. I did eventually speak with the manager, she was less than sorry for my experience. I informed her that I would be filing a complaint. She did say she did not know who said to the dog bit three people. She said they have a high turnover of staff. I wonder why, I guess its a management issue.

My puppy's neuter was okay, but they left a needle in his leg! I removed it myself as I didn't want to return to a clinic that was 45 minutes late for pickup and had a chicken bone just outside the door (had to reach into the pup's mouth to remove it)

Service was amazing. Dr. Parker takes good care of my dog. She is very accommodating and gives us quote for all her recommendations. In addition, the ladies at the front are always welcoming. We go there everytime my dog is sick and will go again for my dog's vaccination.

I had such a terrible experience here with my dog. Vets are cold, vague, give misinformation, overtest and overcharge whenever possible. So happy to have found a new vet.

Run to another vet! This vet's incompetence and neglect killed my mother's dog. Repeatedly seen for urinary issues and never properly examined even though my Mother was charged thousands of dollars. The dog had such bad cancer of the kidneys the emergency vet couldn't even recognize them. The emergency vet diagnosed him in less than an hour with very advanced stage 4 cancer that spread from the kidneys all over his body and he was in multiple organ failure. This vet only cares about the bottom line.

I have been a customer at this vet for a very long time and they are not the same as they used to be. I was a little more than 10 minutes late for our appointment, traveling afar and called them in advance to advise them of running behind. When we arrived, they refused to see my cat even though she’s in deep pain and kept reciting their 10 minute late policy. My cat didn’t even need to see a vet and they mentioned that they have lunch soon so that’s it. I said to the receptionist, you know that I won’t come back with my business and they casually said sure and we’ll send you your file. A slap in my face. I had never been late in all my years with this clinic and I had spending waiting for them when they were behind schedule. I personally will never go back as I believe a great vet clinic always put animals first. It’s upsetting to experience especially when we stuck around with this clinic for so long.

Although they were booked up for appointments on the weekend, Bank Street Animal Hospital squeezed in an exam of my senior cat and were able to diagnose a UTI on the spot. As a result we were able to start him on antibiotics on Saturday instead of waiting till Monday, and a faster recovery for him. We drove an hour in from the country for the appointment, and it was well worth it.

Unreliable, Unprofessional,Worst, horrible customer service and liars. Stay away from this place if you love your pet. If you take your pets there, make sure your pet’s health is actually doing good, you never know what this people have done. Their front dusk staffs are well trained for telling lies. They neither care your pet nor respect your time. If you schedule an appointment with them, they will call u at the very last minute for postponing your schedule (they did two times with me). When I took my pet for a confirmed appointment, they were acting weird denying my confirmed appointment. I mentioned them that I had made confirmation twice prior to my arrival and also mentioned the name of the staff whom I spoke with for that particular appointment but they simply lied and denied. These staffs lie a lot, so beware of taking your pets to them. If something happens to your pet by them they will simply deny their mistake and lie about it. If you love your pet, better find a good care clinic. When I asked to speak with the same person who confirmed my appointment, that liar lady was hiding in the back room and denied to talk. To the manager of the clinic: Please make sure you hire good reliable legit staffs with minimum attitude at least, not an unprofessional liars.

So sad all they care about is money I just took my kitten because she couldn’t breath and they told me it’s more than couple of thousand of dollars just to see if she’s going to be ok and it’s like they are encouraging me to my let my cat go!! So they made me pay $600 to inject her to die , so much for animal rights all they care about is money , if I knew he would survive I would’ve borrowed money to save her but I knew it was to late

Exellent care of our 3 cats Shadow, George and Luca. I highly recommend this place for your pets. Had an accidental surcharge once that i may have overreacted to. The owner called me promptly and fixed the problem without any hassle. They really do appreciate your business here and they treat you and your pet like human beings. We've been with them for 3 years now. God bless their establishment. 👍👍

Very disorganized front desk! Acknowledged me after 20 minutes in the waiting room. Doctors do not even come out to talk to you after seeing your pet! Its all about how much $$$$ they can make. No compassion! Do not recommend!!

I brought my dog Mavis there to have some lumps checked. I went back and forth many times and spent almost $2000. This went on for over two weeks. Meanwhile Mavis kept getting sicker and sicker. They did a full range of tests and couldn’t come up with a diagnosis. Finally they told me there was nothing they could do but they’d refer me to a specialist. After a few days I got a call from three different specialists. One rehab, one sports medicine and one surgical. None of them were sure why a referral was made and asked me what diagnosis Mavis had. I obviously didn’t know. In the meantime Mavis continued to get even more sick. Finally one Sunday she was so bad I brought her to Alta Vista emergency. Within a few hours I had a diagnosis and we began to treat Mavis for an immune disorder. She spent 4 nights in the hospital and I was told she could have died had I not brought her in. They had no idea how Bank Street missed this and got a copy of her file. Mavis is now doing well and I will never bring her to Bank Street again. I reached out to Bank Street to inform them of what happened and request they refund my close to $2000 I spent. I was told they were going to make an insurance claim and whatever they got out of the insurance claim they’d give me. What?? So they admitted they dropped the ball but wanted me to wait for insurance. I wasn’t having that. I’m now suing them in small claims court. Please do not bring your animal here. Seems people who just have regular checkups have only positive things to say. I did until this. But people who’s pets need actual care and a diagnosis seem to have similar experiences to mine. This is not a good place.

Walking by the vet this morning (September 13, 2022), I have noticed an altercation between two workers and two customer's. I have spoken to the customers as to what has happened; the workers were giving the customers a hard time regarding their cat’s appointment and were being extremely rude to the two customers. The patrons have been going to this vet for quite some time as well, with no problems at all. One of the workers also exclaimed, “We will not take abuse!” When no abuse was taking place. Patrons beware if you want to take your pets to this vet as the workers have no people skills nor any comprehensive skills.

The vet aspect is fine. The vets are competent. However, their office staff, while kind, are slow. You will for sure find better, more organized experiences at other vets.

First off, all the reception/assisting staff were incredibly nice. Dealing with them was a pleasant experience. We brought our small kitten in because we suspected ear mites. We were not allowed in with the vet as per their Covid procedures and I believe he took this opportunity to neglect his due diligence. He assumed they were ear mites without verification and prescribed a medicine that was not suitable for our cat's weight nor did he inspect her ears properly for possible perforation as they were filled with wax and debris from the mites. The medicine he prescribed contains a powerful insecticide that could cause severe harm to cats if it enters their blood stream. We found this to be extremely unprofessional of him and we were glad we refrained from administering the medicine to her after reading the information paper it came with. They did allow us to return the medication for a refund at our request which the staff happily processed. We only wish the vet we dealt with would have been as professional as them.

I've had nothing but good experiences with this establishment. I have chihuahua so he is very nervous and anxious but they always make him feel very comfortable. He went in to his appointment trembling but came out calm! The vet also carried him out which shows how good they are with dogs as my dog usually only let's immediate family carry him out! Dog picture attached.

I Would like to edit my review, to say the staff was very caring, and looked after me and my dog in my recent visit. I was very nervous dropping off and they reassured me, took lots of time to sit and talk with me about the procedure, the possible outcomes( good or bad.) Reasons for their charges and why they do certain things during their procedures. This clinic has a very knowledgeable staff and they took great care of my dog during his surgery. They called me many times with updates and I feel that they have truly redeemed my faith, and made this experience a lot less stressful for me. Thank you to the staff.

Bank Street Animal Hospital is super understanding and professional. I would highly recommend seeing Dr Rosa Parker! She is the best at handling the pets and also she is patient and walks you through the cost of different treatments. They are also much cheaper than other hospitals in the Ottawa South area

This place is definitely promising. The owner is nice and polite, the staff are super friendly and kind and the vet assistants are pretty great. However a lot of items in between are not so great. One of them is communication, other is the fact that a few of their vets aren’t very nice (or experienced). Overall the wait times can be intense, they seem to often double book appts, my case out of the 12 appts that I’ve had there... I’ve always had to wait about 30-40mins each time before the vet gets to my pet, I get that sometimes they’re running behind... but communicating that is important... I could have taken a walk with my nervous pet or went to gran a coffee. Also they don’t ever discuss prices with you(not in my case), unless I specifically ask. so at times you’re surprised at the front desk. When I did ask, they were clear, but most of the time it slipped my mind because I was preoccupied with my pet instead(sorry not sorry). Also, not too sure they realize how the cleanliness is an issue. But it needs to be addressed I feel. I’d also like to note that on 4 occasions I discussed my concerns and complained because I felt they were sub par enough for merit. Each and every time they said “oh we have never heard this before” and “nobody ever complains”.... reality check in dealing with the public= just because nobody complains (or has the courage to do so) doesn’t mean there isn’t a issue and that it should be dismissed. The majority of people never complain to businesses(fact: look it up), what they do instead is go somewhere else. Which is exactly what I’m doing.

My wife and I took our two cats here for the first time. We liked the convenience of the Saturday hours. One of our cats was getting his rabbis shot and previous vets had trouble vacinating him because of his nerves and fear. The vet and staff easily had the tools to vaccinate hin without using medication. The vet Dr. Jahangir was thoughrough with our other cats coughing issue. Sadly we had to edit and update this review. Our one cat did not get better after spending $150 dollars. We realized that we could have picked up the same product with a perscription for $50. Learning from that we went back to pick up a stronger perscription. We did not want to fill the perscription at the vet because we did our research and the same drug would cost a tenth of the price at a local drug store. Getting the perscription was incredibly painful. We spent a week asking the doctor and he made it very difficult to pick up the script in order for our cat to feel better. It got to a point where we lost our patience and the doctor finally said we could have it free of charge. We picked it up and were charged. We were so annoyed and exhausted we will never go there again. As a pet owner you have the right to do independent research and not be forced to buy the inflated price of your pets meds at the vet.

We've been bringing our cat to Bank St Animal Hospital for about 2 years now and have always received excellent service. We tend to ask quite a few detailed questions and have never felt disregarded or brushed off in having them answered, not just in person during appointments but over the phone and via email as well. Very pleased with the new location they moved into as well.

Amazing experience with them. They were the only place close to me to accept new clients. I brought in my puppy a couple of weeks after getting him for a couple of shots. I called a month after because he got a reaction to something, and while we were in the office, my puppy went into shock, and they were very friendly and loving, to make him feel as comfortable as possible. For a whole week the Doctor, himself, called me to check-up and make sure things were going great with my puppy and the last time I came in for his last vaccination, they were as loving and remembered him like he was one of theirs.

We were late by 20 minutes to get our male cat neutered and to our surprise, they let us in at 8:25am and just made the whole process easy for us nervous pet owners. I chose Bank Street Animal hospital as they were the only ones who would accommodate my appointment request during this pandemic as we took in an abandoned kitten. Got an appointment in good time and the visit was smooth and trouble free. Excellent friendly staff and my cat Simba was treated with care. Got home after the appointment and needed to ask a follow up question, gave them a call and they did everything to answer my question. So glad I found these guys as their service was excellent. 10/10.

I had an excellent experience at this animal hospital. I called about my geriatric cat and got a 10 minute consult from their vet who helped me to decide to put the cat down. They saw me and my beloved FuzzButt as soon as I could come in. The physical exam verified the vet's original opinion. Their sensitive handling of the procedure and helping me was outstanding. Thanks so much

Initially I had brought in my dog because of lung concerns and due to the current pandemic, circumstances had been more stressful Dr. Kamran and his receptionists were professional and courteous and especially understanding to keep the situation under control. In particular he had taken time out of his very busy schedule to address my concerns, used his professional experience to diagnose the problem and was professionally responded to by his front staff. If your pet needs professional attention and valuable care, this clinic is highly recommended.

Brought my cat Molly in about a month ago. Was given antibiotics and pain medication. The doctor advised I should bring in a urine sample for analysis. He thought it was a urinary tract infection but wanted to make sure. I made an appointment and went in today for them to do a urine test as I was having a hard time getting this done at home. I was very clear about this when I booked. When I arrived, they advised they were behind due an emergency. My appointment was at 2:30pm. About an hour later, staffer came to advise they were still running late. I waited. A staffer finally came and advised it was my turn. Another staffer came out and said that I was there for a checkup and a Doctor consult. I clearly stated no, I was there for my cat to have a urine test. About an hour later, another person came out and asked me to go into a consulting room. He was a Doctor. No introductions. I was advised the bill would be $500.00 for another antibiotic, pain killers and a blood test. He advised I would not be charged for the consultation - which I did not ask for. He said that was being respectful on their part. No urine test was completed but my cat was soaking wet on her belly and back legs were soaked. I was advised that she was wet due to a mix of rubbing alcohol and urine. Mostly urine I was told by the Doctor. No-one bothered to dry her. They had charges on the invoice which I did not authorize or agree to. I refused to pay for a $25.00 tech charge-whatever that is. I asked what happened to my cat's urine test. The Doctor ignored my question and told me to do it at home. I waited from 2:30pm until 5:00pm and I ended up with a urine soaked cat who was very stressed and no urine test. I was not prepared to pay for a blood test until I had the results of the urine test, as per the directions of the first Vet who was very kind. I paid for another round of antibiotics and a pain killer to be on the safe side. Everyone is very friendly but they are disorganized and they obviously don't communicate between booking, reception staff, techs and doctors. I clearly repeated I am here for my cat to have a urine test so many times, it is beyond my understanding how this happened. What a total waste of my time and upset for my cat. I will now go to another Animal Hospital where they know how to listen.
