I got my three baby rats from here. One hairless dumbo(shrimp) one normal dumbo(honey) and one rex dumbo(badger). I can say they are wonderful there and was so excited i was getting them. I would recommend them over any big chain pet store!

Jun 3- I am so grateful for this place which is now become my go-to for everything regarding my Muggs. Today I was so pleased to get a recommendation for an ointment to help my little guy with a couple of sores we've been trying to manage at home. Nov 21-Today was a great day for coat shopping and picking up some fresh treats Edited again Oct 22-I have continued to frequent this little store as my dog loves the fresh food they carry and the customer service is top notch. Edited again Sept 3--each time I edit another star gets added as my experiences continue to improve on each visit. Today there was a warm welcome as soon as I walked in not to mention an employee who went above and beyond to check a policy for me. Edited August 1--I have been back a few times and the service was a tad friendlier. Original Review--This store is conveniently located near to where I live and I was hoping to have found a new place to purchase my pets products. The store is not welcoming and neither are the staff. When you walk in it feels cluttered and a little overwhelming with no signage indicating what is where and neither an employee to help out. On that note, when I did walk through and find an employee available, she gave me a brief hello and I got the impression that I was interrupting her. I perused the store and when I finally ran into said employee to ask her a question I literally got one word answers with no offer of assistance or even inquiry as to what my needs were. When I finally specified what my situation was she referred me to one product that she said her boss used for his dog. She then pointed to him (who at the time was on a latter and clearly busy) to say " there he is you can ask him so you know I am not lying". I did manage to get a little feedback from him with much prompting before making my first and possibly my last purchase at this store. There are a many pet stores in the area and I really appreciate good customer service, especially when exploring new products for my pets. The good news is that my dog did enjoy his first plate of the new recommended food. Hopefully that trend will last as he is quite picky. I try to support small business however that does come with certain expectations.

Staff are always friendly and helpful. They have kittens once in awhile. Lots of toys for cats and dogs. A pretty substantial aquatic section with a wide variety of species including Ghost Shrimp, African Clawed Frog, Axolotl, Zebra fish, rainbow shark... lots of tank supplies too. The store also has some reptiles.

Bought my cutest budgie from here. Largest selection of bird toys and food in downtown!

Bought some beautiful molly fish here to start our aquarium! Staff were super friendly and helpful. Great selection of fish, and super clean, beautiful tanks with really interesting species.

I don’t personally leave star reviews, especially comments but I felt Pet Circus deserved to have one!! Went into Pet Circus for the first time today. The place was absolutely beautiful, the prices were amazing and Pet Circus helped me get the best gift of them all… My newest beloved!! Meet baby Elita, she’s such a little darling. She came home dancing, singing and full of joy!! I originally went in to search for an item and ask a few questions but I just couldn’t leave this little gal behind. I got everything I wanted and more at Pet Circus. The staff was also amazing (I loved cashier Kiwi, she was so sweet lol) my flock will forever be thankful for the arrival of our newest member. Thank you for everything!! I HIGHLY recommend going here.

Great great options and supporting local is ALWAYS worth it. Employees are friendly and helpful, I go here semi-often to pick up Guinea pig supplies for my partner and I've never had an experience less than subpar. Love you, pet circus 💕

The store other pet stores direct you to for small pets, but even for dogs and cays they have an astonishing amount of quality items, crammed into a tight space. In my experience, staff have been consistently knowledgable and helpful and down to earth. Highly recommend choosing this pet store EVEN though I feel a bit clostraphibic inside it.

Pet Circus has all the supplies I need for my dog, great selection at competitive prices but it really shines with the service. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable, polite and always willing to help! Highly recommended!!!!

Bought 5 cat toys today, most are the same/average quality you'd find in other stores just a little more expensive because of the location. The laser pointer I bought doesn't work because the ring that screws the cap to the body is broken and wont unscrew to get the batteries in. It's a low quality product made in China being sold for 8$ because of the area. It's probably a fine store if you're in need but the product quality just isn't there for the price and I'm not going to try to return a cat toy. You're better off going to a bigger store or even a Dollarama or Walmart for the same product for cheaper if ones accessible to you. If not, supporting local is always a good idea too.

GREAT Customer Service. Corresponded with the store with a few questions, Bob was always quick to respond, willing to help and polite :) Bought a aquarium kit and price was "Awesome" best in the city. Delivery fee was reasonable🐟 and it was delivered the next day, WOW! What else could I ask for. Thanks for everything!

We’re so lucky to have an independent pet shop in downtown Ottawa! Being a smaller store I find the animals are healthier and more attentively cared for than at some of the bigger box stores. I noticed last time I was in that they now have a separated filtration system for bettas, which was really nice to see (as opposed to selling them in individual, unfiltered cups). I also really appreciate that their birds’ wings aren’t clipped. Love these guys and hope they continue to stick around for a long time!

One of the best pet stores in Ottawa. Source their animals locally and can special order. Good selection of everything but especially small animal, bird and reptile. Most staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Overall great place! Really great knowledge about pet rats from one of the employees Melanie.

Amazing local pet store! Arden was a great help in getting my two male rats. Both dumbo, one regular and one rex. Our go to place for sure!

Good knowledgeable staff older guy, which I think is the owner, and woman in early 40s. Turns out after 2 days that Betta fish I bought had ICH and infested my entire tank... I'm going to buy ICH-X and if it dies hoping to get a replacement or my money back. Words of wisdom, have a quarantine tank and administer anti ICH and other parasite medication regardless of where you buy before adding to your main tank.

Decent selection of items for hamsters, at least in comparison to many of the pet stores in the area. I also appreciated their supply of reptile items which I use for my hamster!

Pet Circus is the only pet store we frequent and all of our furry friends have come from this store! All staff are super super friendly and are very helpful&knowledgeable if you have care questions. They have a really great selection of small animal and reptile related products, definitely superior to box stores. Prices are competitive or lower than box stores as well! They've been super accommodating when we ask them if they can source certain products for us that are harder to find. We've placed orders for Neo cages and Mazuri food through Pet Circus. If there's something you need that they don't have, please consider ordering through this local small business :)

The manager Bob is so kind, he more than made up for a small mistake made when I was in his store. I ended up with a different species of fish than I had asked for and Bob went out of his way to compensate me. Considering I came from Pembroke all the way to Ottawa to visit his store, this interaction made all the difference. Moving my business to Pet Circus from now on! 😁🐟 Thanks, Bob!!

I cannot give this store enough stars. I've been living downtown for around 2 years and this little gem has become my favorite pet shop. For a small business, it has great prices! And the staff are always super friendly and knowledgeable! I've expanded my pet knowledge and my own number of pets through this store. Love my betta from here, got an amazing hamster who was the sweetest thing, and I've gotten so many harnesses and collars for my dog that are unique and so cute. I will never stop coming here!!

I refuse to shop anywhere else! Best prices and best staff. Extremely knowledgeable on all kinds of critters.
