The staff specifically the restaurant managers behave aggressively, talking out loud with guests and have zero respect for visitors' needs and requests. I would definitely give them no star if I could. They rudely act and immediately ask you to leave if you insist on your request. The managers are extremely rude and disrespectful. We left the restaurant without eating anything and the restaurant manager didn’t even apologize!!!! Very disappointed with their service. Do not recommend it at all.

Service was excellent and Steven service waa outstanding, just walked out of the montanas across the road because of horrible service. Portion sizes were very good. Service was fast. Mushroom burger was excellent. Patio good and chicken tacos were good. Passion fruit cocktail was pricey$9.99 without alcohol is overpriced

Can not say enough good things about our past experience at Jack Astors. Although the greeting wasn’t so warm, our server Sherwin won us back in no time! He was personable, attentive and made our night a lot of fun. Our food was delicious and we’ll be back! Thanks again Sherwin.

It was raining, and patios were closed, we have to wait for table for ~ 15 minutes. Spacious dining room! Because of limited customer and partition were setting up, much better for conversation. Truffle fries smell so good! The sauce in tuna poker salad with crunchy taro bit, is spicy enough but a little bit too sweet for me.

We went a group of 6 people and I swear none of us was happy about their food. We ordered a beer pitcher but the beer was flat! And we got a L.I.I.T fishbowl but the drink was so diluted with ice and coke that there was no flavour of alcohol in it! We ordered chicken nachos for the table which was okayish.. In the main course we ordered Chicken Pad Thai, Thai sesame stir fry chicken bowl, hand held chicken burger, Hunter’s Chicken and a Buddha bowl but only sesame stir fry chicken bowl was edible but all other dishes were absolute tasteless and a waste of our money… after tasting my order which was chicken pad thai my friends said and I quote “We feel sorry for you Riya” But our server was sweet so 2 stars for her and well…. The music was nice!!!!

Food was your average pub food. Quality and quantity was good. Prices are average for these days. Kids enjoyed their kid meal. Appreciate the option of a side of veggies instead of fries. Service was slow but likely not the restaurant’s fault as hear it’s hard to get help these days. Everywhere seems to be under staffed. Music in the washroom was way too loud. It’s not even that loud in most clubs. Our area was clean.

Bree was such a phenomenal server! She and the kitchen accommodated all my requests/vegan mods. She suggested doing a lil cake for my friend's birthday, which she loved! It was a really good time. And p.s. the tofu is actually really tasty 😋

We ordered the Mexican chicken bowls for my family tonight for our Anniversary. We used to like the fajita bowls. The Mexican chicken bowls were tasteless, cold, the rice was hard and there was some kind of a sweet sauce drizzled on them. They were so bad we had to throw the 3 half eaten meals. I’m writing this review so some one else doesn’t order the Mexican bowls thinking they are the fajita bowls with a different name. The cookies sent with the food were delicious. It’s too bad we had such a bad experience with the food.

Ordered a burger and pad Thai for take out. Burger was simultaneously burnt and raw at the same time, wondering if they tried to cook it from frozen. Hostess/ server accosted my husband when he went to pick up and told him if he was "James" she was going to give him hell (he wasn't James), then went on this tirade. They got the order wrong after all of that, we didn't realize until we got home. Not a great experience overall. Wouldn't recommend.

I've reviewed a few places and generally try to find the best in all but I have to say I have been left disappointed after my last order. The soup, though over salted, was good, but $9.00 for such a small amount? There was 250 ml or less. The Asiago Chicken Bowties were well portioned for $19, however, once again, way over salted. No joke, bordered on inedible. Sorry JA team but I'm still drinking water to deal the saltiness.

Food was OK but VERY expensive. Gave them a second chance and unfortunately that's it for me. Service was fine, but my bill came to $50 after tip for a burger and one beer. For that price I'd rather go for a steak dinner at Crazy Horse or The Keg. Friends had steak and said it was very plain. Prices are way too high for quality of food. 😞

Walked over from my hotel after long drive. Nice area very nice outdoor patio. Weather was grand. About 28 C. Lots of shade though so very comfy. Lots of nice greenery and plants also. I had Two 18 oz Muskoka detour draft nice and cold glass and beer. Also has the truffle fries. Very tasty. Could of been a little hotter probably waiting for my Sandwich. I had the Stinging Bee Sandwich and it was excellent.

Good food! Lots of gluten free options. Service was great. We hadn't been in for a few years so we were surprised that they had done renovations. It is more open space dining now with more of a bar atmosphere. There was really loud music and many tvs showing sports. Second visit today was excellent. Service was fantastic. BBQ Bourbon bacon burger was really good and filling.

Serwin was the sweetest waiter, very attentive and professional. Absolute sweetheart! The starter was really yummy, however the main bowls were very bland. Overall the kind of place you go for a drink and a snack! Really beautiful location and great atmosphere. Amazing for birthdays! We got a huge dessert plate and a birthday song!

Although the restaurant was very busy we were seated quickly and the server was most pleasant. The food was tasty and served quickly. the menu had a good selections of dishes from which to choose. We had fish and chips and quesidilla and enjoyed both. Not a place to choose if you are looking for a quiet meal. If good food and a lively atmosphere is what you are looking for, check this out.

Our server was awesome, great service. He was super friendly and fun and it's obvious he's extremely experienced and happy with his work environment (I hope, if that's not the case then I hope you find what makes you genuinely happy man). We got some fish bowls which were amazing, loved the size, it was hilarious. Nachos were spicy but good, generous portions. Cake serving was humongous, you'll need extra forks for sharing (or don't cause treat yo self).

Had our first outing with our kids in a while and chose this place. Did not disappoint! The kids loved it!! We played little games on the sheet paper placed on the table with the kids and they tasted their first Shirley Temple! Food was great and the service was prompt! Our server, Christine (AKA Batwoman) was extremely helpful and was a joy to have her serve us! Will definitely go back! Kids are already asking about our next visit to this place!

I ordered the Thai Sesame Chicken Stir Fry Bowl, took 1 bite and that was it! The chili sauce that they used was super sweet. I doubt there was anything in the sauce except the honey. The chicken, though covered in sauce, was dry and tasteless and the rice was mushy and clumpy and inedible. There was nothing redeeming about that dish. I could not eat it, so it was removed from the bill at the end. I, essentially, paid $20 (tip) for a glass of water! My husband's food was no better. He ordered the Mexican bowl and after the first bite, he said it was pretty close to inedible. He ate it because he was hungry. He said it was very salty and flavourless and the chicken tasted like something from a package that was warmed up. I came to the same conclusion about the chicken in the dish I ordered. One child had a cheese pizza (pita pizza). He nibbled on one slice, which he didn't finish, and this is a child who loves cheese pizza! The other child had the chicken fingers and said those were ok. The waitress was nice, hence the tip, but this is not a restaurant that I would ever return to. They should be ashamed for serving food like that!

Average pub food, $20 chicken fingers and $27 nachos, $23 for veggie nachos. The chicken fingers are made in house. The nachos are thin on the toppings, not a good value. They do however have an option to double your toppings for an extra $12, making it a pricey app. The draft beers are 18oz. Team service was a bit impersonal until the bill came.

We haven’t been to Kanata Jack Astor’s in a couple years and thought we’d give it a try. I don’t know why we even bother. The service is always disappointing no matter where we are seated however tonight we were tucked in a corner and were forgotten about. It took 10 minutes for our server to introduce herself and we ordered our drinks. It took half an hour to receive our drinks yet the tables that were seated around us after us all received their drinks and apps before our drinks were brought out by another server. Our server did stop by at one point during this waiting period to take our order which took half an hour to receive as well. I’d normally have no issue waiting but we ordered apps to split amongst the 4 of us. The food was not worth the price, it came out warm, so clearly it had been waiting a while before it came out, and for certain things like the pan bread to come out with oil an inch deep in the bottom of the pan it was really disappointing. The nachos were overcooked and soggy at the same time. Had the server walked by or even close to our table at any point during our meal we would have been able to let her know but our table was by the front door and our server seemed to avoid the area completely. Even though the kids didn’t get kids meals the server offered them free dessert which was great for them. We were told about the rewards program and signed up so we could get the 15% off our meal but the server never stayed long enough for us to give our number to register. I’ve never had this a many issues at any other Jack locations I’ve been to.

The food was delicious. Good burger with lots of fries. If you don't like wings with colored bones though, be aware that they are very juicy and less processed than usual chain's wings. We went on a game night and the place was packed. The food service was quick enough despite the amount of customers, except the dessert which took longer than the meals to get, but I think that was just a matter of what you can and can't prep before such a big night. The whole atmosphere just wasn't that great. It felt cheaper than it was, aesthetically. We sat in one of the aisle tables and there wasn't much room. It felt very crowded and there were people constantly moving around you. But again, just don't go on game night lol.

Family of 4, dinner out before the show. I ordered the Vietnamese Noodle dish because the description said it had mango, avocado and crispy onions which I ingredients that I love. Also added chicken for an extra $6. I got less than an ounce of chicken, maybe a tsp of mango, can't say how much crispy onions because we're hard to find, and an acceptable amount of of avocado. There was a plateful of rice noodles and lettuce. The sauce left me with burning mouth for a while after eating. The sauce tasted good, just too hot. My main issue is the amount of quality ingredients I was hoping to pay for. I don't mind paying $23 for a salad if it's not a bowl of rice and lettuce. I said we much to the waitress and all she said was that it was their summer menu and she would give this feedback to those concerned. There was no discount applied to my meal, which would have been nice.

Excellent dinner tonight. Some of the best beef nachos I've had. Cocktails were really good too. Pasta dish was a new one on the menu and it was good but not great. The service was excellent though. A shout out to Vonnie she was exceptional.

Delivery was on time, food was cool, the portion of the main dishes were acceptable, but the lobster dip app was a waste. Hardly any dip, chips and pitas slices were cold and or hard. Huge disappointment from last time we ordered. Way too much money for what we received. On the caution list from now on.

Chicken fingers and calamari were overcooked and tasted oily. Thinking their cooking oil needs a changing. Also, we each asked for a glass of water along with our other drinks and they never came. We asked a second and third time. 2 of the 3 glasses came the third time around. Waitress never came to our table to asked how we we're doing and if everything was to our satisfaction. It was difficult to get her attention. Also, my order was incorrect but I keep it seeing as I didn't feel like waiting another 25 minutes to eat. Ive been at much better bar and grills, not impressed !

I ordered Jack Astor's Chicken Fried Loaded Chicken Fingers and Cheddar Soup and would give 0 stars if I could. The chicken fingers were $18 and came with 4 chicken fingers, inedible cheese and a spoon full of sour cream. The soup was $8 and the small container was half full. So incredibly overpriced and the food quality was poor. Will never order from here again.

This was a much better visit in terms of food and service. I gave up my usual steak frites in favour of a smoked bbq burger, which was very good. Service was pleasant and very efficient. One thing to improve - adjust your payment machines, so that when paying with the gift card the customers can enter tip together with the billed amount. By far one of my favorite restaurants. Staff is so nice, and the wait for our food wasn't too long. Such a great environment, and so clean. Great place for all ages. They have gluten free options, and are great when dealing with allergies.

The Memphis steak was good (medium rare). The baked potato just fell away from the potato and was so soft, I enjoyed how delicious it was. The seasonal vegetables were fresh, mushrooms especially, though the green beans could have been seasoned a bit more for flavor.. I love their sauced chicken fingers as well. They have the right amount of sauce and are made fresh to order.

We ordered garlic bread, Bbq burger with fries and buffalo chicken sandwich with a side of caesar salad. The garlic bread came coldish, which was replaced but took for ever to come and tasted okay, at best. Next, the bbq burger priced at almost 19$ looked smaller than McDonald's. Was also a meh. The crispy buffalo chicken was a disaster, not going to even say more. The only thing that deserved more than a pass was the Caesar salad. Lastly, we asked for ketchup for the fries.........and we got it after we finished our burgers. I am really sad and disappointed to have spent my Fri night out there.

We went out to dinner with the Family and my wifes meal had to be return because they had sauced the pad thai with the wrong sauce. The server did a quality check and the food was replaced with a diffrent meal and it was good. The replacement dinner did come out quickly by she did have to eat alone. The manager did stopped by and apologized for food issue and made sure my wife was pleased with her replacement meal. Our server never brought our waters or salt and pepper for the table after it was requested. My wife ordered a glass of wine that never came. We also recieved our bill prior to my daughter's dessert being brought to the table. We payed we tipped and we left. Maybe they were short staffed or our server was over seated on the patio. I don't know but for 100$ bill we should have gone else where.

Attended the restaurant in late September. Was fortunate the weather was nice enough to sit on the patio. Hostess struggled a little with my request as to where I wanted to sit on the temporary patio as all seats were open when I arrived. COVID has caused restaurants to make the temporary patios to get more customers and I understand why they did it. This temporary patio has little character and it feels like your sitting in the parking lot. I get it but just be prepared if you don't get the patio that is apart of the restaurant. Waiter was pretty good but service was slow. It didn't seem that busy but in fairness I didn't see what else he was occupied with. Food was an ok portion and served warm to order. No issues. Drink refill, like most restaurants was a little slow. Would return in the future.
