The Saar Alpaka Farm is located very close to Saarbrücken, easily accessible via a somewhat bumpy driveway from Tabaksweiher/St Arnual. A visit to the alpacas is an experience for children and adults. But not only alpacas, you can also admire llamas and donkeys on this farm. You can also go on hikes with the animals. You have to book these hikes in advance. In a small farm shop you can buy a wide variety of products made from alpaca wool. Please note the opening times stated online.

Very friendly and down to earth experience, the owner's passion for their animals is noticable at all times. During the 3,5h "Alpaca-time" you're able to be in the midst of many Alpacas and get quite close to them (1-2m) but by nature they're not keen on being touched, so don't expect being able to pet them. During the hike, every person gets their own Llama or Alpaca assigned and leads them in a caravan. Sometimes they might lead you instead. Anyone who can look past it being less of a physical experience and is able to enjoy observing and appreciating these animals will have a great time!
