Pros: - Friendly, helpful staff - Rooms are spaced apart to allow more privacy - Reasonably-priced for what you get - Cheap & fast laundry service - Peaceful surrounds with birds & insects chirping, chickens etc - Floor-to-celing windows looking out over the valley - Hammock (and khmer daybed + recliner) on the porch - Laid-back vibe - Total bill settled on checking out, so no need to worry about carrying change for every little thing Cons: - Location is a bit out from the sealed road (10min walk), and no tuk-tuks drive past this area, so you'll have to either ask the ladies in the restaurant to call you a tuk-tuk, or otherwise take a 10min stroll to the main road - Very very limited restaurant menu; many items/ingredients are unavailable - Mosquitoes and biting ants - BRING INSECT REPELLENT - Our bathroom sink was partially blocked, meaning water took really long to drain. Also the tap was missing its handle - No power sockets in the bathroom (for our shaver, electric toothbrushes etc) - Power sockets too far from either side of the bed - Some of the lights in our room needed new bulbs - No air conditioning: our 1st night was comfortably cool, the 2nd okay the 3rd too hot to fall asleep... - A LOT of steps to walk up and down to get from the entry to the restaurant ... then to your room ... then back again ... Not really suitable for the unfit or infirm. Overall, the Tree Top Ecolodge is a solid option for those looking for a tranquil couple of days in a natural setting. However, not really suitable for unfit or infirm people, as getting around the property involves a lot of rickety timer steps, up and down the valley. Good for couples and small groups, not so much for families with young children.

It's a great stay. My only point of criticism is that the rooms get quite dirty over time. This is because the rooms are wooden bungalows and dust/dirt falls down from the roofing on your bed/clothes. Besides that, tastefully furnished and nicely decorated.

Awesome place to stay! Rooms are super clean. They aren't air conditioned, but that's okay - Banlung is fairly cool and there's quite honestly no need. Our room had a small outdoors area to rest and hang out. The bar had a really cool vibe, especially at night. Drinks were awesome (the Long Island iced tea was a little unorthodox, but was a welcome surprise and a kick in the pants), prices were good, staff was friendly. Word to the wise - careful on the boardwalk, it's a little mossy and a little slippery.

Seems nice at first. Being in nature you must expect some bugs. However there where ants everywhere, including in the beds linens. The employees where fine enought to give us some Raid, but sleeping in Raid fumes was not a option for us. We didn’t stay a second night…

We spent 2 nights in a bungalow. We expected much more from the lodge as the lonely planet describe this place as the most enjoyable place of Eastern Cambodia. The staff is really nice, the terrace restaurant is really nice. But the bungalows and wooden pathways could use a renovation. Inside the bungalow it was quite dark and we could not open the windows. Not their fault but still it is a huge problem : you can here loud techno music and karaoke untill late and from 8am - the only time we managed to sleep well was during the afternoon.

Great room! Only $7usd for a fan room with cold water and balcony. The food is good and cheap too. You can refill your bottles with 1,5L of water for 25ct. Everything is made of wood and really clean. Great staff

Went for dinner 7.09.18 with our tour guide from Spice Roads Cycling. Served with Vegan friendly food that was amazing. The $3- cocktails were also a hit. Great setting & friendly staff - well worth a visit.

I have a really good stay there! Completely in the nature with room made totally by wood. The restaurant gives you a wonderful view on the sky when eating. It's manage by a nice and gentle family, they are so kind and helpful. It's a quiet place to relax but pay attention and be quiet cause you will see big Geico outside or in your room. Don't worry they don't bit and they are inoffensive. Get there to have your wonderful and peaceful experience.

Nice hotel with very decent prices. The rooms are comfy, but ants are everywhere!!! We booked a 3 days/2nights trekking with the hotel agency and really enjoyed it, but the person who sold it to us gave us some missleading information.

Staff is friendly and very helpful. Restaurant has a great view and a wide variety of meals. The $15 room was nice and clean but you could probably find better value for money elsewhere in the village. Wifi only in the restaurant.

$15 cash for a bungalow. Very nice, however at night 😂 the bugs, the dogs, and the geckos really come alive. You won’t sleep much. Staff super friendly, this is a good option to the usual lake guesthouses.
