    N ightmare: 1. they demand payment of 1,050 euros for a scratch on the side part of the bumper, which was there before the rental, 2. they rented me a different car than I ordered, 3. the car was deliberately parked in such a way that the pole at the airport covered the scratch, 4. no person from sixt when picking up the car 5. no copy of the customer contract signed in the office 6. the car was not clean - there were empty glass bottles under the driver's seat, which during the journey posed a threat to the lives of my children who were traveling in the back seat. 7. They completely ignored me and the photo evidence while completing the clarification survey. In response, they sent me the account number to which I should transfer the money. 8. they did not show photos from the previous rental. I feel cheated. Be careful with this company. Don't be deceived. Car rental date 23-25/09/2023. Best regards Customer

    EDIT3: they finally responded to my email yesterday. Imagine how many requests with complains they must be getting, if they need 1.5 months (!) to process new incoming ones. EDIT2: another week, no response. I won't be surprised if they never get back to me just to keep the money. I think, their management forgot that it's 21th century and you put lots of efforts to build a reputation which can be lost in a couple of bad moments. I honestly thought that they would at least apologize for spoiling people's trips, but nobody cares. EDIT: a week after SIXT had replied here to my review they still haven't responded to ANY emails I sent them. It feels like they are waiting when I forget that they took my money for no car. Worst car rental experience ever. I made a reservation and prepaid it on Sixt website. When we came to the office at the Airport they gave us NO car. They also didn't provide any document, so we could request a refund. The only way to communicate with them is emails and you should wait weeks for them to respond. Read below for more details. So, we booked a car online. Then we came to the office and, at first, we were told that there are no big cars available atm, so we agreed to take a cheaper / smaller one despite we had already paid for a premium 5-seater. They also asked for a personal info (e.g. address and email) I had already put online explaining it by the fact the website was lagging that day. Then they said that they should verify my phone number by calling it, and that's the moment when all the fun started. I was told that the number I gave them was invalid, so I checked it on their screen and confirmed it's correct. They tried it once again and said it's still invalid. I asked them to give me their phone number, so I could call them instead, but got rejected. Then I showed how I'm calling myself from my wife's phone and everything works. So I insisted that they should try checking it again, but it still didn't work. That didn't make any sense so I asked to show me how they are typing ny number on their phone, but got rejected. They literally said that "the car is too expensive and can't be given without a successful phone validation". I was desperately trying to find a solution for the problem and suggested using my wife's phone, or I could buy a local sim card to put into my phone. They didn't even want to talk to me. There was only one Sixt employee at the office atm so we couldn't talk to anyone else. They definitely didn't want to help us and just wanted us to leave. I suspect that we were treated so poorly because of some third party reasons, since the employee was extremely cold in the conversation. The first time I booked a car with Sixt was in 2016 in France. It always went smoothly until that day in Dortmund. I'll definitely never use their "service" again... Fortunately, the story ended happily because there was another car rental office working at the airport, and they gave us a car with no issues. My phone number worked just fine for them. We had wasted an hour because of Sixt though, we didn't get our money back and our vacation mood was a bit spoiled.

    Staff Members were useless at two location and would not listen to concerns. Requested to speak to a manager and was told there was no manager on site and what did I need a manager for. This was in Germany. Maybe other locations have better staff. Car was fine and later needed to add a cross boarded to the contract, call center was helpful. Add on fee was reasonable. Be aware they charge you literally for everything.

    the first time I used the services of this company, the service at the airport was excellent, they offered a better car for the same price, the cars are clean, well-maintained, economical, comfortable. Returning the car is convenient and clear. The support service is competent and friendly, solved all my problems

    My recent encounter with Sixt Car Rental was an absolute nightmare, and I want to make sure no one else goes through what I did. I had reserved a car online, and their website showcased a bunch of options. Excited, I paid upfront and headed to the location. But as soon as I got there, everything fell apart. They told me there were only manual cars available, even though I can only drive automatics with my license. It felt like a bait-and-switch. And just when I was about to sign for an automatic they initially offered, suddenly there was a “brake problem” - seriously? The whole situation felt shady and frankly, ridiculous. What’s worse is that I couldn’t shake the feeling that they were treating me differently because of who I am. Refusing services after confirming them and then conveniently finding issues when the boss showed up? Come on! I’m beyond frustrated, and I want everyone to know how Sixt operates. I’ll never, ever consider using their services again, and I’m going to make sure my friends steer clear too. It’s not just about the money; it’s about how they made me feel disrespected and singled out. To sum it up, save yourself the headache and the discrimination. Stay away from Sixt unless you want to deal with false promises, excuses, and feeling like a second-class customer.

    Finding the surcharge at the airport is very easy. Nice staff, zero waiting time, better possibilities or options offered at the counter. Pretty good cars, I would say premium. RECOMMENDED

    The first time we used the app, the taxi driver of DO-GB 1095 wanted from us Euro in cash. We paid him 35 Euro and gave him a tip. Later we found that we were charged by card 35 euro too. We've payed double for the ride. After 3 days of makig phone calls with the Support, Bernd Eickhoff from the support team sent us email and told us that the driver thought the money in cash were a 100% a tip. We were 4 people in the car and we are sure that he wanted to pay him also in cash for the ride. We were lied. And also we didn't recieve a receipt for the ride. This is a shame such a big and renomated international company!

    Avoid this rental company if you can! I can't contact any customer service. Phone service is not working! On the web side there is no contact details. I returned 11th of May is still on rent. My card was charge by 839,19 EUR for 4 hour of rental instead of 239.19 EUR! I can get invoice for my rental because there is error on the web site! First complain I wrote 18.05. Still no replay.

    Fantastic friendly service from the very pleasant young lady at the counter on arrival. She spoke in perfect English so I didn't need to muddle through with my sketchy German. I received free upgrade to a much nicer car than expected. Super-efficient pick-up and drop-off in the most convenient of locations possible. Perfect!
