Simply to say... The best restaurant in the area... with the kitchen open from 11.00 to 23.00 (extremely rare). The people who work there are treat you with professionalism but also with a bit of warm, making you feel like home... There is also some history about this place... worth to discover...

Our lunch visit: excellent food and service, nice decor, just a bit too crowded although understandable given their apparent popularity.

Very good typical Belgian bistro with good choice of dishes and daily suggestions. Always a pleasure to eat here and staff are very friendly. Prices are correct & I recommend Istas highly for either lunch, dinner or a drink on there terrace.

Good service and nice outdoor area to sit. Food was okay but nothing special.

We were surprised by the rude attitude of the person “in charge”, as he presented himself. We wanted to have a coffee in a place where few tables were occupied, towards the end of the lunch service (15 h) and the guy wouldn’t let us choose the table of our choice saying “it’s me who decides here”. We had to wait at least 10 min. for our order to be taken. Then he served us a cappuccino with whipped cream on the top..without asking us if that was ok. It is a nice place, spoiled by bad management, to put it short.

A typical Belgian brasserie serving good, hearty traditional Belgian/French cuisine. Staff friendly and always joking and exchanging pleasant banter with the customers. Terrace on the side is the place to be, as it is well away from traffic.

Very nice restaurant with Belgian food specialties. Located at the limit of the Forest, and the entrance of the highway, with lots of parking around. Outdoors and indoors seating. Very friendly personal. Recommended! 👍

A large sprawling restaurant with options indoors and out. Great service and we had a wide range of differing meal’s, everyone enjoyed their choice’s The kitchen was a power house turning out what must have been hundreds of dishes in a timely manner. Well worth a visit

Excellent restaurant / taverne, with authentic atmosphere and Belgian food. Very friendly personal. Parking. And the forest just around the corner. Easy to reach, just along the highway, exit Jezus-Eyck. Recommended! 👍

My husband and I had driven past the many restaurants on Brusselsesteenweg several times, always saying that we needed to stop and check them out. So, today, we searched online and found that Istas had incredible reviews - of course, about the food, but also, great remarks about the friendly service. This was a good enough reason for us! When, we entered Istas, every employee greeted us. We were seated by Jean, who gave us the heads-up that a more comfortable booth was coming available soon and that we could move there. Throughout our wait for our lunch, Jean kept up friendly and humorous conversation, and when the food arrived (I had the tomato with gray shrimp and frites, and my husband, the coq au vin), we were even more pleased. What started as a quick stop for lunch turned into a leisurely and enjoyable meal. This is a perfect place if you want to slow down and have a great meal in a relaxed and pleasant environment. Although this was our first visit, Jean treated us like welcomed regulars. We will definitely return often so that we may earn that honor!

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and the food is not bad, though there is not a very large menu. Prices are on the high end

This place it’s a shame for the “French fries”! Dry, fried 3 times, tasteless. They came without any sauce. I had to ask twice for a mayo. Messy service. I ordered 3 times a drink. My beer glass was empty - no question like “can I bring you another one sir?” - but this is typical for the quality of services in Belgium. It’s like they really don’t want the client’s money! Close it! Let in someone who knows how to run a business… Expensive for the quality of food and services. No idea how this place has 4 stars in a country that is supposed to be very educated in terms of foods & restaurants!

It was a great surprise this restaurant in the Tervuren near Brussels, a typical Belgian food house. Traditional Belgian cuisine, with a super friendly service. I recommend if you go to this restaurant to ask for Pedro, he is a waiter who speaks Portuguese and Spanish, as well as French. It has an excellent menu of Belgian beers, ask that some brands recommend them.

😠 I cannot give a ZERO... the garçon was unpolite and rude... We were coming to drink something and he asked us to move somewhere else because we were sitting in a "only eating" area... strange as the cafe-restaurant was empty... Do-not-go place. Pity.

👍 Great portion of big fresh and fast fries better than the mean in Brussels. Easily chair the big size for two people with a bowl of sauce. Its a big place almost like a grand restaurant, with private parking in front. It is clean place and a lot of choices of food, fries , bbq even seafood dishes. I...
