Amazing food and people! Breakfast, lunch and dinner is all amazing. First time we went was on a Friday and turned around and went Saturday morning. Then every Friday after that it was just so good. Finally had to give it a break for a second. But one of our favorite places!!

I would AVOID this place. Let me start off by saying this place automatically takes 18% of gratuity from the bill even if its for 2 dine in purchases. I checked with the server and she said the owner takes 18% off the clients checks to pay off the waiters/waitresses. The food is expensive and not is okay. It almost tasted like it was frozen and was warmed up. The only thing I liked from this place was the mango milkshake. Other than that, the food takes a while and it is not worth my $70dl I spent here. Sorry.

There were FOUR of us and it forced 18% tip. Never going here again- our waitress never refilled our drinks never asked if we wanted more drinks. The fact that the tip was forced on us and sub-par service made the experience that much worse. When I asked about the fee, not noticing it had said cash discount this waitress had the nerve to print the new one and pretend it was never there- when I showed her the picture I had taken of the original receipt she then explained it was for a cash discount, but had deceptively tried to pretend it never existed in the first place?! Worst experience in a long time-shocked about the bad service.

Visited the new location, a great new space, as they begin to get back in gear after long hiatus for their move from the old downtown Overland Park location. Food is excellent in quality, flavor, and variety. Service was friendly and speedy at lunch, much slower at the dinner hour. They have a creative cocktail menu that hopefully will be available soon. Definitely worth going back.

This was my first visit to El Salvadoreno. From the very beginning our server was fantastic greeted with a smile very knowledgeable really quick with service. We ordered the chicken and steak kabobs with rice and beans and it was amazing. You can tell that this family takes pride in their food. Highly recommended!

My Wife and I were playing Google Maps Restaurant search and came across this place. WOW. I loved it. It is not a cheap fast food place but prices were reasonable. They really do not have a "lunch" menu. They do have a small breakfast menu. What they have is great food. I had the El Salvadoreno sampler. Chicken enchilada, chicken tamale (very good masa) and 4 other great samples. The Gentleman that waited on us was very friendly and patient while we explored the menu. This was our first visit but we will be back.

Food was good. Restaurant had dirty floors and glass windows were gross. Took 10 minutes to get a water, 40 min to get our food, and no condiments…..we had waitress walked out of the store with her keys and left us without saying anything. No one said anything, we had to ask for our own check.

Great food. Very tasty. So glad we went to experience this. Small language barrier- as we like to ask lots of questions and the 2 servers spoke little English but both were hard working and super nice. Great place!

The most authentic flavor from El Salvador in the KC area. I was quite happy with every single dish we had while we were there. The plates were so big and filling. The restaurant it self had really awesome murals to look at while waiting on the food. I will definitely be returning to try other dishes!!! Super delicioso y auténtico !!!

I expected more from the food. I did enjoy the steak dish I had ordered. It was my first time and I do plan on returning to try some different dishes.

This is a great choice if you are feeling like something "South of the boarder" but want to expand past the typical tex mex fair. The food is very flavorful and prepared fresh. The curtido was the weak part of the meal. It did not have the bite I expect from it and was a little to vinegary. I will say that I did have one of the best margaritas ever. I would highly recommend it.

First, the food is excellent! I mean, that’s why we go to a place, right? To eat? And the food is wonderful, fresh, authentic, recipes, and very, very tasty. The service, is mediocre. The atmosphere is less than desirable. There is always loud music, which is distracting. The pupusa’s are the best you’ll find in town. The chicken soup meal is wonderful. The guacamole has a unique recipe. That includes hard boiled eggs. They put hard boiled eggs on a lot of things. The prices are fair, but the menu quoted the house salad as $3.50, but charged me $4.50 for it. I often get meals to go from this place just because the atmosphere in the service is not the best. But you have to be careful taking at home, because the packaging is not always secure. Did I say the food is excellent? Yes it is. Excellent!

The food was excellent. The Pollo en Crema was great. The chicken ensilada for appetizers was excellent as well. The service was good. We sat at a booth. The seats could use an upholstery. That would be our only complain. It was not uncomfortable to seat on just could be a bit nicer. That would be the only negative. The price was reasonable. You should try it for sure.

Decor is noting special, but you come for the food. We had the papusas, pinchos, and pollo encreama. We are coming back without a doubt. This is a shining example of how Salvadoran food is done.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch. I have many patients that recommended we try it out. Papusas (pork and chicken), Postales both were great and tried the Albondigas (sp?) as main dish. Very fresh, very good! Hot sauces were not too spicy for me, just the right amount of spice.

I love this place! The food is great, but they are always terribly understaffed. If they could figure out the staffing it would be busy. I sat and waited 20 minutes just to get our drink orders. They have one person working the whole place.

Pros: Prices were pretty reasonable No wait to be seated Didn’t take long to get our food Food tasted fresh Pork and cheese papusas had good flavor Cons: The waitress got my order wrong The papusas were the greasiest ones I’ve ever had, so didn’t want to finish them and get a stomach ache Chicken and cheese papusas tasted bland

We've been coming here for years since before they moved from downtown OP. I have tried different things from their menu, love their breakfast options and I am always craving the panes rellanos sandwich, a saucy chicken sandwich that is made to perfection every time I come in. Great staff and always a treat!

Always wanted to eat here. So glad we finally did. The service was great and the food was outstanding. So much to chose from. Will definitely make this my go to more often so we can try more of what's on the menu.

Food was so good. Service friendly, and yes, a bit slow, but only because they don't have enough staff, as everywhere these days, so understandable. Will definitely go back to try more dishes. Had the Sampler this time, everywas delicious!

Ordering takeout can be a little touch and go depending on whether or not their phone is off the hook, but if you can get through the food is outstanding. All of the pupusas are outstanding and you’ve gotta add an order of fried plantains if you want to take the whole experience to the next level.

My husband ate here when away on business and always wanted to go back. Although it was an hour out of our way this time we decided to try it again. Oh my goodness it was SO worth the drive!!! This was one of the best meal I have EVER had. I am serious. I ordered the Pollo En Crema. Chicken with cream sauce can sometimes be bland, but not this one! It was so flavorful and delicious! My husband got a sampler type dish and everything on it was exceptional as well. We will be back anytime we are in the area!

The food here is fantastic, we have visited twice and have had multiple items without complaints. We have tried almost all of the pupusas, and none of them have disappointed. I particularly like the one with pork, beans, and cheese, which I highly recommend! The reason for only 4 stars though is the service tends to lack at times. We even saw a couple come in, sit down, and after about 10 minutes of no service, left.

I love this place! The fried fish is my favorite thing to order from there and the pupusas are amazing! Ingot delivery and the food was still hot and crispy. I would highly recommend!

The pupusas are better than the one's I've had in Indianapolis.
