👍👍 Taco Via had been a classic tradition in KC for along time. Unfortunately most of them are gone now. This location stands the test of time because it's always been the best! Don't forget to ask for extra onion sauce! So good! And the taco via sauce is the best! People often mention good, Taco, sauce, time, great, taco, Mexican, flavor, asked, channel,

We had a great dinner. I got a bit more than I intended, but ut was great. Had tacos, and a taco dog. Wifey had a taco salad. Staff was great, wondering if there's anything they could do.

I was thoroughly disappointed by this experience. I was craving Mexican food and didn’t want to travel far from home. I checked this place’s reviews and decided to give it a try. I almost didn’t even walk in because the place is so dirty, dingy, and dark that you even tell they are open for business from the parking lot. I half expected to tug on the door and find it locked. But, when I did walk in, I was disappointed to find not a single person on staff from Hispanic descent. Clue #2 I should have known to leave. How can you expect to do Mexican Food well when you don’t have anyone from that culture on staff? When I went to the counter to order, I asked the the girl behind the register to tell me what was in one of the dishes, and she had to search for a worn out copy of the paper menu (seemingly the only one they have) to read the description to me. When I did finally order I went with the enchilada platter which came with a “salad” and beans. The salad was a joke, just a handful of shredded lettuce with hot sauce drizzled on and half a tomato slice thrown on top. The only smidge of flavor on the entire plate was the copious amounts of black pepper invading the chicken in my enchiladas, which were otherwise very dry. Even the minimal amount of cheese on top could do nothing to offset the fact that the enchiladas were tasteless, and nearly hollow inside. The chips were soft, and the beans were bland. All in all, this was a vastly disappointing experience. The icing on the cake is that one of the staff walked around the dining floor stopping at tables to collect serving trays, walking by several diners, and didn’t say a single word to any of us. Not once did he ask anyone if they were enjoying their meal, likely because he knows how terrible it is and doesn’t want to invite complaints. I will definitely not be returning here.

I go there often after church on Sunday with my daughter and 2 grandchildren. Usually there's some sort of football game on. There wasn't this week so I asked them if they could change the channel. I actually got the deer in the headlight look from this young lady. So about 10 minutes later after I got my food I asked them again could they change the channel and got no response. So I asked some kid that was walking around looking like he had nothing to do so I asked him if he could change the channel and he made the comment that the Chiefs were not on till 3:00. I said I'm very much aware of that I just asked if they can turn the channel from what it was on. All three TVs were on the same thing and it was some sort of a talk show. I understand they was a little busy but if the cook had time to come out to the soda fountain and get her co-workers sodas they had time to flip the channel for a customer. I just seems like this place is going downhill just a tad as far as customer satisfaction. Finally after 20 minutes the channel was changed and we left 5 minutes later unfortunately. Now with that said has anybody noticed The difference in the shells they're using for nachos?

People here were so friendly and helpful. Do like the flavor of their sauce, just a hint of spice, maybe falls between mild and medium? Food options are simular to other taco fast food places, thought cost a little higher. Taste is good and filling. Mexican pizza actually has pizza sauce on it, that was pretty tasty and enjoyed the flavor of the pizza more than the burrito.

Taco Via is a family favorite of ours. This is a locally owned restaurant that has served Overland Park for decades. Taco Via has a cult following and you’ll hear many locals rave about the Sanchos and Nachos. Friendly service and decent prices.

The girl who took my order rolled her eyes at me and wouldn't say a word to me. Was pretty friendly with my husband though when he paid. Food was pretty cold, ended up getting sick. Will never return to this spot. Used to be great food and friendly faces. So disappointed, this used to be one of my faves.

Food is always good. And service was great today. They have pinball machines. I didn't mind spending 2 bucks on games here. Also I'm glad to see that there was constantly people coming in. I'm so glad to see this because I really don't want them to go out of business. Only Taco Via around and I remember coming here as a kid 40 years ago. Bring your own cup though because they still use Styrofoam cups here. Refill price is super reasonable! I customized tacos for my 7 year old son and they did them perfectly. My husband had a Mexican pizza and a taco dog and he was full. I go for the traditional nacho with peppers and a classic refried bean tostada. LOVE IT!

We live Taco Via. The Sancho is our go to but this time I got the enchilada platter. I enjoy these once in a while. The Taco Via flavor is so good and exclusive to them.

I love Taco via. The one on 87th Street. Doesn't have the potato oleis and I forgive them for that but it's straight out of the '70s. I mean they even have a Gallagher machine. But the meat's always pretty good. Yes, it's a little bit expensive but I think it's worth it. It's like going in the time machine. Even today. The nice little gun lady working the counter was cool enough to give me some free chips which I thought was cool

I wish I kept the photos of the food for this but this place is great I've been twice in one week I wish I had found it sooner the food is great oh my gosh and you absolutely positively have to try the cherry limeade I mean everything is good. I really enjoy this smothered burrito combo though the prices are cheaper than Taco Bell and the quality of food is so much better I do not regret going here at all and this is now my new text next place only thing I wish they had to drive through they had that probably be overwhelmed I really recommend go there

I've loved this place since I was a teenager. Nostalgic at it's finest. Please don't ever go out of business. This place is always clean, with polite people that work there as well. The food is fantastic!!!

Sorry, I am a bit biased to this place. Used to work here when it was at 75th & Metcalf BUT, it is still as good as it was 30 years ago when i worked there. You just can't beat their tacos & nachos. If you know...you know.

Went during the lunch hour and even though it was crowded, food was up fast. Plenty of seating as well. Taco burgers are amazing and filling. Their sauce is THE BEST!!!

The atmosphere is fine, it was also very crowded...lol Some of my coworkers love Taco Via, and tell us it's very nostalgic for them! Also about once a year, we get a Taco Via food truck to come to our office and everybody loves it! Thank you Taco Via!

Food is always great and I love the sauce. Was very happy to see they sell it bottled now!!

I can see why there aren't as many around. I ordered the cheese enchiladas and a bean tostada, the tostada was ok but the enchiladas corn tortillas were so tough I needed a knife and the cheese wasn't even melted all the way. I still enjoyed the nostalgic flavor of their sauce. I ate it all but I won't go out of my way for it again.

Love it for the sauce. What can I say, it never gets old. Don't expect an extravagant Mexican meal, but you won't find a more recognizable sauce that makes anything delicious.

I have a friend who loves their food & has been unable to visit for quite some time. I wanted to surprise him w TV for the game, but you know how "to go" can make tacos....the crew offered to "deconstruct" anything we wanted & got right on it! Love you guys! Thank you! It was great!

Just now tried the cheese enchiladas and they were Delicious! I usually always get the combo burrito. So far everything is Good! The nachos with japelenos are the Best!

This will always be my favorite Mexican fast food chain in Kansas City, I'm so sad that they have closed almost every single location. I would buy a store if it meant I could have my Sancho's whenever I wanted!

I have been eating at Taco Via for over 20 years. I remember eating there when I was a kid. One of my favorite things to eat there is a sancho. It’s always been my favorite. The nacho is really good here too. This location serves cherry limeades which is really good. I highly recommend this location because the food is good and the service is good most of the time. If you have never been here you should definitely try it.

I love their food especially their homemade salsa, but some things are more important than good food.. I had just sat down for dinner at Taco Via when a young man came in with a disfiguring disability, for his first day of job training. Nervous, he told the manager that this was his very first job. Owing to the nice young man's condition, I don't imagine he got out much. The manager couldn't have been kinder or more caring while he took him around teaching him how to do the various things. Very patient and loving. I have to admit that even this old man was touched. So hat's off to you, manager (big guy in his 50's). Thanks for your open heart and warm attitude. It did get noticed. Your restaurant and community is better for it, not to forget the self-esteem of a young teenaged lad.

The food is good, it's a classic. But the last time we were in there the floors were on par with skating-rink/movie-theater yuck, one of the employees grey shirt was darker gray around his pits and belly (clearly unclean), and the sink in the kitchen looked questionable. Place needs a good cleaning and ongoing attention. That being said... it's so good, I still have to give it 3 of 5 stars.

I used to love this place as a kid. Since my taste buds have matured and I have been exposed to much better places, it has lost its appeal. The restaurant is clean, quick, and has friendly staff. It still attracts a lot of people as there was a line at130 on a Thursday afternoon. And I finally figured out what the secret ingredient is to give their taco meat that Taco Via flavor.

It was my first time going there. I had the burrito platter. The burrito was cold. The place was dirty... few clean tables. I know many people love this place but you only get one chance at a first impression and I was not wowed. I don't know that I'll go back.

Fresh ingredients and tasty flavor, very family friendly level of heat in their sauces. If you are a hot sauce fan ... take your own. Reasonable prices good variety.

I ordered some tacos to go from the food truck at a car show in KCK. They were great!?

You have to grow up in Johnson County to really appreciate this place. The nostalgia of tastes just hits different. Everytime I take a bite, it takes me back to being a kid.The taco sauce is what makes this place. It's delicious on everything they serve. Also the shaved ice. Nothing complicated here, just your all American style Mexican food. The portions are generous, ordering a Nacho is a must.
