Food is good at best and nauseating at worst. The environment was hectic and stressful. We got our waters and there were particles and pieces of food in every cup. We asked for new waters and explained the problem and our new cups still had food inside. The plates are not washed well at all. You have to dig through stacks of plates to find a relatively clean one. Cooks handle raw fish and then cross contaminate other foods without washing hands or using new gloves. Overall, this place a nightmare for anyone who likes to enjoy a stress free meal. Too many code violations and general neglect for me to return.

4/19/23 AWESOME BUFFET, food was excellent quality and fresh constantly being replenished. Attentive waitress in a very nice clean atmosphere. Sushi bar was stocked with ingredient descriptions of each piece. Plenty of comfortable seating.

Their new location is amazing! This is literally the best buffet I've come across in Kc! I can not enfocus on how clean this place is, especially the floors as a resinous floor installer myself. Food all has great taste, and the hibachi is such a great add! I'm not a fan of sushi, but you can watch them make it in front of you with the fresh ingredients. Seem pretty popular as they had a hard time keeping up with mid day demand. Edit- Prices have increased some. Not sure if the value is worth the increase!

Found a cockroach in my Teriyaki Chicken, I addressed it with the manager and he didn’t charge my family. I then witnessed the manager picking through the chicken in the buffet tray. When he saw me looking at him he proceeded to “remove” the entire tray from the buffet line, But he didn’t.

Lots and lots of options here. I never went before they reopened at the new location, but loved the vast array of food here from sushi to sashimi, clams to shrimp, a full Mongolian grill to make your own plate. Even fruit and my favorite mango jello. Oh and the crab Rangoon and the mushrooms are awesome! Highly recommend checking out their new location. Tried the hibachi grill today. It was excellent as well! In some of the pictures you can see my raw food and the finished product after it was cooked.

Food was not labeled near the buffet and did not give any directions about what kind of meat was used in each dish. The labels were incorrect, for example they had placed tilapias under the label baked salmon. Food was okay and was too greasy. Lots of options though and the service was quick.

Lunch was good. The sushi for it being a buffet was great. One day I will have to go on a weekend night when they have crab legs.

Great Deal On buffet on a weekday. Most food is A- or B quality. Weekends seemed too crowded and difficult to get crab legs.

I give this place 4.5 stars. This experience was one of the best I've experienced at a Chinese buffet. The staff was nice. The place is huge and clean. The food was HOT. Fresh. Everything tasted good except for a couple items that I personally felt were a little greasy. Nice selection of sushi. Fruit was fresh and sweet! My boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised. We WILL be back!

Visited this place twice last week... This is the one in overland park NOT that other impostor that people have confused here.. Arrived at 11:15 am and all was fresh made ,all looked clean, we were welcome very cordially , we chose a booth right by the main island . Place an order for Phó ( ratings will be in paréntesis ..so a 9) grabbed ribs (8 ist visit ,6 the second ) hit or m. Had tepenyaki cooked and it was fast and well cooked to my specifications .(8). Had a piece of fried chicken and it was average (7).. I walked around and grabbed about 15 samples of dishes they had ,and about 12-13 we're a solid 8. They have egg filo muffins that are the star of the menú..the udon when they have it it's on point ,all soups are solid 8's.. fruit was planty and fresh . We drove 3.5 hrs to go to overland and this is the place that stole our ❤️ ,good solid cooked dishes ,well over 100 dishes , price was 12.99pkus tax for weekday lunch.. Incredible enough the reason we did not rate this higher was sushi..it's not good and no discernible variety ,the sauces they use o them are weak and tasteless. ..can not understand that ..no desserts to brag about , some ice cream ,very ordinary .. After 2 visits the 3 members of this parry we agree that it's an 8 on a good day and a 7 in a day that they don't hit the ribs. Never mind sushi or desserts .. but good price for weekday bufette .

I was impressed that everything was so fresh and plentiful at 2:30 in the afternoon! The food was amazing! And the staff were all very nice. Great dining experience and worth every penny spent! (Which was very reasonable!)

Nice buffet selection and friendly service. The food was hot and something for everyone. The Koi pond is a surprising entrance.

It's awesome that you can find all you can eat crab legs again! The all you can eat sushi was great too. They also have habachi and even a bar. This is on top of all the normal Chinese food that you would expect to find. It is expensive on the weekends but with the amount of high dollar food you can eat it's definitely worth it as a splurge! Make sure you are hungry and you will leave happy

Very very very recommended after they moved to the new location the quality of the food is way better now and service is better, also very recommended in Saturday and Sunday because they have the album buffet for the crab legs and it was very fresh. Also sushi is very very very good. Thank you for the owner for changing everything after they moved to the new location.

First time going here. More then likely won't go back to this one. Did not have much of a food option. Wen we walked in there was a sign that said dinner Buffett was $30/person. It was just myself and my husband. And the bill was $70 something. Hours said closed at 10:30pm. By 9:30pm they was putting food up even though ppl were still comen in to eat. Went to the bathroom and the women's was not clean.. the hand soap in both dispenser was empty. Idk out the men's. Didn't ask my husband. Over all not a good first impression for me.

Amazing food with various of options to choose from American to Chinese. They are very crowded on weekends but the waiter was constantly filling up drinks. I will say this is VERY expensive unlike other buffets. I probably won’t return because of the price alone but it was very good!

The staff is quick, efficient and polite. My six year old loves seeing and feeding their fish in the pond and that they have kid friendly foods such as his favorite chicken nuggets and macaroni. The food never disappoints. Usually we eat here on a week day or for lunch, but trying their Friday night Crab, specialty sushi rolls, and hibachi and so much more has really raised the bar. I don't think I will be satisfied with another buffet after eating here tonight. Everything tasted great and food on the buffet was constantly being replenished where needed. I couldn't be bothered to get more pictures as the food was too appetising to be left on the plate. 5 stars!

Personally I thought the food was great! The inside is huge and there is quite a bit to choose from. I think the only downside is if you come during a lunch rush it gets super packed and there’s lines for everything.. for the price though I think this is a great Buffet, they do have pho, hibachi, sushi, and some American options as well .

What a treasure!. One of the best seafood with fresh crab legs and sashimi. This is a super buffet available only on the weekends. Love the roast duck and variety of Chinese/Asian dishes. The oysters need to be fresher though. Prompt service and peaceful ambience. We’ll visit again if there’s another opportunity.

The OP Joy Wok has so many more options than the Kansas City Joy Wok. Both locations have great food.

New location with nice interior. Went on the weekend and had to wait about 10 minutes for a group of 7 which wasn't bad. Food was pretty good and selection was decent. Sushi was replenished quickly. Only drawback, I believe, is for $28.99, carbonated soft drinks should be included in the buffet price. But meh its what ever. And men's room had no soap.

Joy wok is a nice place. A lot more clean than other restaurants and the food is lighter. Lots of variety and they keep things more fresh not old and dried out burnt like other places. Nice big restaurant with tables and booths. Lots of seating. Fountain. Our server was super cool. Genuine person. Smiled a lot and seemed to enjoy his job. We took my brother here for his Birthday at his request, thanks Joy Wok for the new restaurant experience and for our Birthday fun. We will be back again! :)

Pros: (1) Buffet with a number of options (2) Huge seating area (3) Is fairly clean for a buffet (4) Some of the food options like the fried doughnuts and the baked meat pie (aka a Philly cheesesteak calzone?) were pretty good Cons: (1) Buffet is about normal, if you don’t feel like sushi or the hibachi grill (2) The rice feels more steamed than fried (3) Some of the food is obviously frozen food that’s been heated up (like the garlic bread is the kind you can buy in the frozen section of a grocery

the buffet is always a hit and never a miss. The price for two people was fairly priced especially given the amount of food we had. The staff came by frequently to ask if everything was okay and to refill our drinks. The sitting and buffet area was clean as well...

Do not go here if you want sushi. $28 per person. They advertise sashimi but then say they are out. They are also out of most nigiri.

We went out to celebrate Father's Day with the family and Asian Food at Joy Wok is worth the time to dine in and get stuffed. All I can say is, this buffet is way better than the other buffets I've been to in recent memory and this is the best one we got in the KC metro area. Definitely recommended.

Super nice family lunch buffet. Very good selection of hot & cold dishes. Plentiful personally-constructed stir-fry (Mongolian grill?) options, fresh fruits, salad, pho, desserts (including hand dipped ice cream. Pleasant atmosphere, polite table service... Couldn't ask for a more pleasant experience. Any photos I took didn't do it justice.. you have to experience for yourself!

The food entree selection was very wide and, varied in an array of steamed, baked, fried and grilled items; including a large salad bar and a sushi chef. Regrettably, many of the meat items were overcooked and fried offerings were dry. The taste was average to unremarkable. Most unfortunately, the restaurant tables, the serving bars and men's restroom were visible not clean. Condiment containers on the table were sticky to the touch. Moreover, there was a damp mildew smell which permeated the dimly lit dining area; coming from a heavily soiled and worn carpet.. The lack of cleanliness and a seemingly indifferent/ inattentive wait staff insures that my wife and I WILL NOT visit Joy Wok again. Our experience was definitely not a "joy."

It was good food. There was fresh food coming out constantly. It's $21.95 per person and worth every penny. Great place to spend with family.

hello me and my family came here today and was very disappointed:/ we got in and the lady never gave us a menu, or said prices. so we just went and got food well turns out they were out of food but rice 😭 so we asked our waitress if we could have a partial refund. THATS NOT EVEN ALL, we went and got plates and there were food in each of them there very unsanitary 😕 and the manager is not kind at all. 0 out of 10 go somewhere better where they treat you with respect

Fabulous buffet, probably the best one in the area. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. Did I mention all you can eat crablegs on the weekends.

Good Hibachi Buffet. The variety of options was pretty good. Sushi bar larger than many buffet I been before. But tables and floor pretty dirty. I will give 5 stars if was more clean.

We visit this place at least once a month not on Sundays because we don't want the crab legs. Saturday early afternoons and the food is amazing everytime..You can see steam coming off all the fresh dishes. The Hibachi grill is great. Very good for a buffet.....
