We came to this lovely venue for a family wedding. We had the most wonderful weekend here. The accommodation was sufficient, we had hot water and there was WiFi we could use. It’s a bit far from everything (travel wise), however the wedding venue was stunning and the food was great. I don’t think I would’ve ever stayed here if it wasn’t the venue for the wedding. However there is so much accommodation on the property, it’s great for large parties or weddings.

Spectacular, spectacular, spectacular!! De Uijlenes and all their staff members from the ladies on the frontlines such as Jesyca and Erlien, to the housekeeping staff such as Rochelle, all the way to their manager Lieben, are so friendly, warm-hearted and accommodating. They helped my husband and myself achieve our dream forest wedding with ease. I HIGHLY recommend contacting them for any of your events! Can't wait to go stay there for our anniversaries!

Great quiet getaway if you're going on weekdays for a break and not for a weekend wedding. The nightjar's their oldest chalet and very much antique with its original built. The perfect down to earth treat. Or alternatively you can opt for the modern chalets which is very stylish and modern day equipped. The private hot tubs is superb. Chef Maurice prepared the most amazing breakfast and delivered it personally to our chalet

My husband and I had our magical wedding at the Nightjar venue. From start to finish, the team were amazing, friendly and professional. Every person who was involved went above and beyond. The venue is absolutely stunning and the honeymoon suite is perfect for the bridal party to get ready at. The food is delicious. The accommodation has everything that you and your guests need. We had a Friday night get together and the Nonnetjie house was perfect for this. Thank you to Juanita who made sure everything ran smoothly. She and her team made the day and the preparation leading up to our wedding day so much less stressful and such fun. It was everything that we had dreamed of. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone who wants a stress free and fun wedding.

We booked accommodation for the night of the 29th of December 2023 - we arrived 3:30 in the afternoon - our room was not even ready - the excuse was that they had a wedding the night before - was full of rubbish in front of the room - we dropped our luggage and had gone to our friends in Gansbaai for a braai - we returned at 11 o'clock in the evening, just to find the gate locked and nobody answered the intercom. My husband, after about 20 minutes climbed over the gate (he has a very bad back injury) and had to walk in the rain to the Reception .....we did not have any toilet paper, soap or coffee in our room - we did not even received the code for the wifi - seems this place is only interested in wedding venues and DO NOT care about other guests. Definitely a NO NO for the future

Nice outing. Pizza base a bit too thick, for my liking. The table next door phoned the day before and booked ribs, after waiting more than an hour they were informed it was sold out and they had to take something else on the menu

My husband and I had the absolute best experience getting married at De Uiljenes in March. The staff go out of their way to make sure that you have the best experience. We loved every moment. The venue is beautiful, the scenery is idyllic, the food delicious, and the honeymoon suite is the most stunning architecture that is perfectly set up for a bride to get ready. We will definitely be visiting the honeymoon suite again for a night away. I cannot recommend them more!!

Wonderful luxury self catering accommodation leaving you wanting for nothing The hosts careful attention to detail provided us with everything we needed for a relaxing breakaway. From slippers to fragrant hand soap, mirror lights to Miskito repellent, loads of fire wood and effective firelighters. The wood fired hot tub was amazing and a great place to watch the full moon rise, closer than we have seen before. It is easy to understand why “The Little Barn” at De Uijlenes is a popular bridesmaid’s choice of accommodation all she needs to bring is a groom. This luxury accommodation also has great coffee.
