Only one of two places to see penguins in their natural habitat. Lots and lots of penguins. Really worth a visit Wheelchair friendly but parking lot doesnโ€™t make it easy to access entrance via wheelchair

Pictures cannot express how beautiful this place is. A complete different experience than the Boulders beach and we definitely recommend to do both! Not sure if this was due to being Sunday or because we arrived 40min before they closed, but we did not had to pay for anything there.

Great views of the breeding penguins from the well maintained boardwalk and viewing points. Well worth paying for a pass to walk right out to get stunning sea backed views of the extensive colony. Keep an eye out for Dassies and lizards as it will add to your whole experience.

Cute spot to watch the penguins. Entry is pretty cheap (around 2 euros)

For Betty's Bay and Simon's Town to visit the penguins, my biggest difference is that Stony point is more vivid and natural than Boulder beach! There is no noise from vendors and crowds; and there are no too many artificial fences that make us feel closer to the penguins. Secondly, Stony point fares are cheaper; half-jokingly: one belongs to local residents, another one belongs to foreign tourists. Plus: The penguins at Stony point have neighbors: Rock Rabbits! You can find them at the entrance; they are timid, please don't startle them. Finally, a special recommendation: For the penguin viewing itinerary at Betty's Bay, please stop by the Harold Porter Botanical Garden; if possible, go to the Kleinmond Harbour for seafood too!... ... . ๐Ÿ˜‹

Lovely. Compared to the Cape Town penguins I liked this a bit better but alas if you like animals Iโ€™d just do both. I feel like this one had more but I think the stats say otherwise. It was very cheap and calm and relaxed and super nice backdrop so maybe that gives this one an edge for me

Excellent. There are endangered penguins and it's worth it to drive out here to see them in their (almost) natural habitat. The parking is ample though it does get crowded on free access days, but everyone is super friendly and polite. People are willing to help you take the pic that you were chasing. The entire walk is pretty short, but the path is well-marked and accessible for wheelchair users. There are also plenty of signage along the way to keep you informed as well as benches to sit and take it in. The smell isn't so great. Normal cost for entry is only R30 per person, and no Wild cards apply.

Once in Betty's Bay, make a turn to Stoney Point and watch these lovely penguins. Depending on the time of the year, you may see them moulting and then, they look very fluffy. Don't worry it's just a natural process of hibernation. There is a restaurant, bathroom and a half kilometer walkway path further along the edge of the ocean. You can also get to spot some Rock Daisies too! Just remember entrance fees is R25 per person.

Plenty of penguins sunbathing for you to admire. Some are even brave enough to come really close to you when they try to get back to their nests on land giving you a proper up close and personal experience with them.

Oh my goodness, what a lovely place to visit. With wheelchair access, making this spectacular place accessible to everyone. The penguins and cormorants are a special treat to see being so relaxed in their natural habitat. Even spotted some Oyster catchers. Waterdikkop and Egyptian geese. The boardwalk is an easy relaxing walk for everybody to enjoy with some seating areas available as you walk along. Take your time to enjoy the breathtaking views. I would suggest a beanie and warm jacket just in case.

The broadwalk is close until further notice. You don't pay

The state of the walkways is shocking. The fact that it is home to 1 of 3 last surviving penguin colonies in the world!! It is really sad that the environment was shoddy walkway closed no sign of any parks board officials at all a very bad show indeed. No controls in place whatsoever with people wandering wherever they felt they needed to go! This place is in dire need of an upgrade!

You can see penguins without entering the main reserve. After walking down from the car park turn left. However fewer penguins here than inside. Very cute creatures, but only protected from the human pathway by a rope. Hopefully no one harms them

I really think that this place should stay open later during December holidays! 16h00 is way too early to close. Other than that, it was a nice experience. We saw some local lizards, dassies and ofcourse... penguins...doing the nasty ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜„.

If you are visiting Boulders beach, you can give this a miss. Nothing much difference from Boulders beach but you can do if you are missing it as there are plenty of penguins here as well. The ticket can be bought on the site.

Bettyโ€™s bay is known as the 2nd penguin beach in capetown. If you want to see penguin colony infront of your eyes then this the place you must visit . Thousand of penguins walking infront of you itโ€™s kind of dream so amazing and the penguins is so adorable

Nice place to see a lot of penguins in the early morning. The boardwalk was closed and the reason why is not clear. But the experience wouldnโ€™t be less. The peguins were walking in front of our feet and had some great interaction with them.

So beautiful and natural. There are penguins everywhere and there is a nice long boardwalk to get a look without disrupting their habitat. Worth the drive between Gordonโ€™s Bay and Bettyโ€™s Bay which is the most amazing drive Iโ€™ve ever seen. A million times better than Chapmans Peak. Big highlight of my relaxing vacation.

Very nice little spot with some good historical information displayed all through the reserve. There are mostly penguins, some Dassies and birds. The old whale boat, harbor and lookout tower all look really cool. Staff were friendly. We wanted to picnic there but unfortunately this is not allowed inside the reserve, for obvious reasons. There's a nice beach spot and restaurant to eat at if you fell compelled to do so.

Sea penguins in their natural habitat easily and for free. You must stop here on your trip through these parts.

Well worth visiting and a much more budget-friendly option than visiting the penguins at Boulders Beach. Add this to your itinerary on a scenic drive along the picturesque R44
