I’ve been a student for over 12 years and through my time at the school I have developed priceless life skills that I’ll carry through college and life. The class environment is very welcoming and from day one feels like a family. I’ve had the privilege of passing on my knowledge of martial arts and personal development for the past six years as in instructor. It is hard at times to even recognize the difference it has made in my life to be a part of this school until I hear anecdotes from my peers and role models about struggling with self doubt, discipline, and time management.

The owner avoids you at all costs. He originally baits you and your family in but if there is an issue on your part they will not address it and do everything to ignore you or avoid it. They also had a waiting area for parents that didn’t feel comfortable leaving their kids with stranger they’ve since removed this because myself and a few parents waited with their children. No parent wants to leave their child with anyone who hasn’t made an effort to make them feel safe or comfortable. They also place favoritism on certain parents and students. After being here for a few months I still don’t feel welcome almost the complete opposite. I wouldn’t recommend this place until they start becoming more welcoming to the parents that keep their business running. If this don’t change I will leave a more detailed review on the issues myself and other parents are experiencing

I've been attending this Kung Fu and Tai Chi academy since 2016. I found that it not only helped my flexibility, but I've been able to achieve things I never even thought I would do -- like go to a World Tournament and win! But I never started with that goal in mind. I just thought I'd come in to do Tai Ji Quan (Tai Chi), so it was really cool that the instructors push you to try things by giving you an opportunity to try and fail in a safe space. What that really does is also help build your character, and can help you in everyday life and your work by knowing that you can try and fail, still be OK, try again, and eventually succeed. (And maybe even succeed more than you thought you would!) It's easy to get started, easy to feel welcomed and like part of the family. But as you train, just like anything else, you'll find times you might want to quit. But this is such an amazing group of people who help motivate you and remind you of how far you've come. Becoming a champion is not easy, otherwise we would all be one! This school helps you realize what happens when you are determined, disciplined, when you work hard and practice. I wish I had this type of support when I was younger. I started when I was 38. It's never too late!

I have been a student at the school for over 13 years. I started in the Tai Chi program because I wanted something that is good for my health both physically and mentally and that I can do for many years to come. The school totally exceeded my expectations. The instructors are very friendly and committed to helping all students develop to their fullest potential. I even joined the Kung Fu program 2 years ago to learn more self defense and improve my physical fitness further. I got to do things that I didn't expect myself to be doing, like competing in national and international tournaments. I also joined the instructor program and got to develop leadership skills that are even applicable to my life outside the school. I highly recommend this school.

It's been a great place to train. The instructors are top notch and have made me feel welcome from day one. My private lessons have been tailored to what I want to work on and areas I am seeking improvement. The character development and reading lists have been insightful and helped me continue to grow and work on myself. I joke with my wife that the time I spend here is more valuable than anything I've gotten from any therapist or counselor for my anxiety. Everyone is so welcoming and open. I've never seen another program like this one.

My son joined U.S. Kuo Shu Academy 1 year ago, & I couldn't imagine him practicing/learning anywhere else. The way in which the instructors are beyond dedicated & personable with the students is so amazing. I greatly appreciate Master Huang for ensuring my son's continuance & elevation at U.S. Kuo Shu Academy. I greatly appreciate Ms. Haley giving my son private lessons & for Shi Fu Anderson's evaluation. My son started during the pandemic, took classes virtually, & thrived rapidly. Due to the instructors vigilance & guidance, my son was able to advance quickly. Again, I'm so grateful to U.S. Kuo Shu Academy and the value in which everyone involved has added to my son's growth.

My children and I have been privileged and honored to train with Grandmaster Huang for many years through numerous seminars. The opportunity to train with him is invaluable given his wealth of knowledge and dedication in traditional Chinese martial arts, focusing on mind, body & spirit. We have known Grandmaster Huang, Master Michael Huang, and their instructor staff for more than 14 years, and we hold them in the highest regard. Their dedication to martial arts and their students is exceptional. U.S. Kuo Shu Academy is not a fly-by-night school that is here today and gone tomorrow. It has a well established reputation in not only Maryland but also the Chinese martial arts world. We highly recommend U.S. Kuo Shu Academy to students of all ages who are interested in authentic and high quality martial arts training for themselves and/or their family members.

Awesome academy! I would recommend this school to anyone who ever thought of undergoing martial arts training. Growing up I always had a fascination with Chinese culture and the martial arts. You get the best of both worlds with USKSA. The best part about this place are the teachers in my opinion. To me the best teachers are the ones who understand the material that they are teaching thoroughly and who can perform said material at a high to elite level. USKSA has no shortage of awesome individuals who embody this 💖
