The room was spacious, modern and clean. Prefect for our party of 4. The facilities in the room were excellent! Toiletries, tea and coffee, even things for washing up. The location is great for bars/restaurants and there was ample parking for guests. We were served a lovely breakfast and nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. We would definitely stay again and recommend to a friend.

I stayed here for one night while visiting Oxford. The location was great, close to a small centre and close to multiple bus stops that take you right into city centre. The house itself is beautiful and the room was lovely and clean. The staff was helpful and accommodating! The thing that brings this experience down quite a bit was an issue I’m sure that is unique to the rooms on the top floor. There was no wifi signal on the top floor or in my room despite wifi being an amenity provided. The taps of the sink in my room also were not screwed on properly and the water was shut off completely in my room when I heard the room next to me using their shower. I couldn’t wash my face or brush my teeth in the morning and the water would randomly come on and off. It was never warm, only ran cold. I did not use the shower so I’m not sure how well that would have worked. While it was overall a pleasant stay, the issues with the room were frustrating considering how expensive the stay was.

Conifers was clean and easy to reach by the #15 bus, but it is a good 15 minutes or so outside the city centre. The staff was very accommodating considering that we arrived early and asked to leave luggage for holding on the last day.

I like how the hotel had free breakfast and free parking that is right by the rooms. However the rooms, especially the bathrooms, were not clean. The Wi-Fi service was very laggy and parking was tight. In fact, this “hotel” is actually a house, not a hotel that you would expect.

Good location 2 minute walk from bus stop (15) direct to centre, nice comfortable room (room 1), excellent breakfast included in booking made directly on website. Would stay again.

Very convenient for the hospitals, which was my reason for staying - walking distance to several of them. Comfortable and clean room, ideal for a short stay. Also close to bus stops for travel into the city centre.

First time we've stayed here. Our room was clean, it had ensuite bathroom plus everything we needed. It was a quiet house - we didn't realise all 8 rooms were taken till we came down in the morning to breakfast! The location is very good for Headington and bus stops into Oxford City Centre. Enough forecourt to park our car. It's run by a family who are very polite and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent, stay lovely room shower beautiful hot and powerful. I was in room nine excellent would’ve had breakfast. If I stayed longer, buses to get from A to B all over the place. No problem with transport, I was able to walk to the hospital 10 minute walk. Perfect if you’re going to visit CHURCHILL hospital , definitely stay there again, not one thing to grumble about pleasurable stay .

Our room was clean and had the usual amenities, tea, coffee etc. I was a bit disappointed in our room. I booked 2 rooms as we are travelling with friends. We paid the same amount and our room was much smaller, the bed was smaller, the TV was smaller and had a view of a wall outside. If you book, request NOT to have room 9 unless you can't do stairs\. My husband had the breakfast, an extra 5 pounds per day and he said it was ok, nothing special. The staff was very polite, not super warm and friendly though. It is very close to the bus stop for 15 which takes you right in to Oxford, which was great.

I stayed her for two nights. The young man I met on arrival was pleasant but the same can't be said for the woman I spoke to. She was rather abrupt on the phone and despite having paid for two rooms I received an email to say the booking was cancelled on the day of travel. Not helpful or ideal. I still don't know why I received that email as the payment had been made. My booking included breakfast but they only start breakfasts at 8am, so if you need to leave before that time for work, you can't have it. There was no mention of a refund, so I asked to be given some food to go in my room. I would not stay at this venue again.

Take bus 15 and you will reach there from the city centre in about 15 minutes. This is a cute duplex house that has become a mini hotel. I love it. The room was clean the shower was lovely this was a chance find Gem, what’s sold us was the garden, but for some reason it was closed I didn’t get a chance to mention that to the building reception. overall, it is value for money and I look forward to staying there again.

Needed a place to stay for a hospital visit in Oxford. Room was ok but very small. Breakfast was good. Plumbing was very noisy but most people were in bed by 11, so slept ok.

Had an interview at Churchill Hospital and booked this Guest House for convenience as so close to the Hospital. Room was average...i wouldnt class it 4 star...my room was more 3 star....had masking tape on steps going up to the shower. Also had a nail hanging out the wall.....however was clean and had a lovely view of the garden. One thing i did find a little weird was that at 9am.... my room door was knocked and door tried several times.....the person was persistant and kept knocking and trying the door. I opened the door and the maid asked for my dirty towels. My checkout wasnt till 10am and i still need my hand towel to dry my hands ?? Apart from that i slept well. Had free parking which was ideal. Didnt have breakfast so cant comment on that. Would recommend for location and a stop over. Would re

Arrived early but was able to leave our car and go exploring. Our room had everything we needed comfortable bed, it was all beautifully clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast was available also beans on toast with tea which I thought was good value for what we paid. Definitely come back.

We had a lovely stay at the guest house. As we had to leave early the next morning, we couldn’t try the included breakfast. Instead, we were offered a breakfast plate with croissants, brioche, jams and cereal for the early morning, which was provided to us in our room. Super nice service, lovely and comfortable rooms and beds.

Curtain was torn Light in bathroom not working All night the light was on and shine under the door from corridor However the place was clean and tidy. The staff was extremely kind discrete and service was perfect Breakfast delicious and adapted to clients tastes. To get into Oxford center : no need to use taxi (a little too expensive). one might prefer to use bus 15.

The staff was very nice and help-full. The breakfast was good. The rooms are modest, which is fine. We all slept well. The busstop, where you can take the bus to Oxford, was very close by. It looks to be a save and clean area. We were happy that it had private parking.

Not a problem at all. Easy to park and close to the hospital, which is where I was going to! The owner was very clear about where the keys were. Was going to have breakfast, but I had to go to the hospital very early, so didn’t have enough time. My problem, not yours!

I chose this place the first time as it was close to where I'd be working in Oxford. Now I have other reasons to come back. The staff is kind and highly accommodating. As vegan I was able to get this really nice vegetarian breakfast. Rooms are simple but clean and tidy and everything works. Extra points for the gluten free toast I got with my breakfast. Great value for the money.

I recently stayed at this hotel and while it wasn't the most luxurious, it was still an ok experience, but a warning to anybody staying here the shower in the morning or very temperamental and mine was freezing cold as soon as I got in and I couldn't get it to warm up. The room was clean and had all the necessary amenities, although it was a bit smaller than I would have liked. The staff was friendly and helpful, making check-in and check-out a breeze. The location was convenient and provided easy access to nearby attractions and transportation. The only downside was the freezing cold morning shower.

We visited on Easter weekend for one night and were really pleased with the cleanliness and quality of the room and facilities. We had a lovely spacious queen double bed in our double room and it was very comfortable and cosy. Great value for money I would highly reccomend for a short stay in Oxford!

I stayed here for a few days with my elderly mother and they were very accommodating to her needs. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious and clean, which is very important for her. The staff were lovely. Thank you very much

Fair place, I enjoyed the stay. Prices a bit high for location, that's why 4 star. Otherwise, no concern at all.

It was a perfect location for us as visiting people in the area. Breakfast was nothing great, microwaved fried eggs that were actually quite tasty, but no option for a full English or anything like that. Room was perhaps a little small, but beds were comfortable.

  • 5/5 Sue C. 1 year ago on Google
Actually was really comfy, only continental breakfast, the search marked it as full english, but what I had was fine. Bed huge and very comfy.

The self catering facilities was excellent. The beds mattresses were very hard which meant we did not have a good night's sleep. On the Coniffers website they advertise a fully cooked breakfast, this is not the case. We were offerd an egg cooked to your choice and the breakfast was continental. We would not of booked the Connifers if we knew the breakfast was only continental also the television signal was terrible.

Room itself was lovely. Shower was hopeless, ended up washing in the sink. Staff at breakfast were lovely and very helpful but on arrival the manager was quite abrupt. Location is great but overall not value for money.

I urgently needed accommodation for a hospital appointment and booked the cheapest and closest thing to Churchill hospital. I was pleasantly surprised how wonderful my stay was. It was really unexpected for the price. The breakfast was great consisted of cereal, yoghurt, juice, toast, and a full english. It was such a great start to our day. Conifers is located next to a busstop that takes you past the hospitals and into the city center which was perfect for us. The beds were super comfortable and the both of us slept better than we usually do at home. The staff were very kind and professional and were always seen wearing mask and sanitising areas regularly. I hope I can get a room here again on every future visit to Oxford.

My mother stayed there for what should have been 6 nights but left after 4. Her room was cramped and dirty with pen marks on the wall and holes in the ceilings and walls. The bathroom was filthy and had 2 high steps leading down from the shower cubicle which looked very odd not to mention dangerous. It cost her £450. Shocking

Stayed here due to location & complimentary car parking. Great welcome by Yorkshire Pete, who took our breakfast order & showed us to our room. We had everything we needed: tea, coffee, microwave, crockery, cutlery, shampoo, body wash etc. I'm definitely staying here the next time I'm in Oxford.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Conifers. We stayed in one of the family rooms and it was perfect for the four of us- the beds and pillows were very comfy and the room was very clean and warm, and had everything we needed. Breakfast was really good and all the staff were kind and helpful. Getting to the centre was easy- we parked our car at the guest house and took bus 15 from the stop which is a 2-minute walk from the guest house. Also, added bonus for families with little kids, there’s a great little playground right next to the bus stop!
