I decided to wander along the Oxford Canal today and saw lots of ducks, frogs and even a Grey Heron. At the beginning of the path you see a map showing you what you will see, what to look for and what animals and birds you might see. It’s a quiet path where you might encounter others enjoying their surroundings. I had a great time today, stopping a lot along the way to take some pictures and enjoy the views.

My wife and I were walking up the canal towpath yesterday and came across the Trap Grounds by accident. A fabulous wetland wildlife reserve, a little slice of heaven. Truly magical!

Lovingly looked after area of wilderness not far from town. Signs explaining about plants growing there, small winding paths and boardwalks through the greenery and along the pond. A little gem we stumbled upon accidentally...

Wunderbar! A treasure for all ages - adjoins the Oxford canal path and links to Port Meadow via a footpath and bridge. Decent footwear desirable in all wetlands! Not entirely accessible for all pushchairs etc. but the main route is. Not large, but many exploring and learning opportunities - spot the small blackboards for seasonal interest to spot. Do support the WWT, BBOWT, RSPB and the Trap Grounds all have websites
