Went to grab a quick bite to eat after getting my nails done. I ordered the kefta and was pleasantly surprised. The dish was packed with so much flavor and paired well with the bread.

This is the best addition to Barracks Row in a long time. The food is outstanding and the service is friendly and efficient without hovering. The server also gave us really good suggestions. We had the cheese briwate, khizzou, fried branzino, lamb tagine, and milk pastilla for dessert. They also brought us some shrimp with chermoula; and they asked at the beginning if either of us had any food allergies, which we don’t. Everything was so good! The lamb just fell off the bone and melted in my mouth. My friend and I split the dessert, but I will get my own next time! This is definitely a neighborhood gem, and I will be back for sure.

Wow! The food was so good. Loved the braised eggplant, fresh and warm bread, and the kefta meatballs. Zack who was filling in for the owner who is Moroccan was so kind and had wonderful conversation with. Food is so good and made with love.

DELICIOUS Moroccan Food!! What I had and will have again when I come back: Veggie couscous Tagine Lamb a la Mounia Milk Pastilla dessert - this one melts in your mouth 🤤 They also have a great selection of wines, I recommend the Sauvignon blanc. Also they have great service! Definitely recommended.

Had a great experience when Mekki first opened. Not from the area and visiting some friends over the weekend, we stopped here on a Saturday night and it was PACKED! We had a reservation and it took about an hour to get seated. The staff comped us drinks and food for our patience. Would definitely recommend a visit for some great Moroccan food.

Food was pretty darn good! Zack helped us out and was very kind. Can't wait to try their brunch! Definitely recommend sitting outside, if you can. Off of memory ... We got the cheese, shrimp, and chicken appetizers And the pork & chef's special for our meal. The menu item that stood out the most was definitely the dessert... Don't remember the name. Haha but it wasn't the cake. :)

We celebrated Valentine's Day by having lunch here today (the day before Valentine's Day). Food: we got there around 12:45 and it was nice that we were able to order a couple of dishes from the brunch menu and couple from the lunch menu. I love middle eastern food and specifically within that, Moroccan food is my favorite. I love Branzino so for special occasions, I always search for a place on Yelp that serves good branzino. We had trekked all the way from Herndon, VA (50 min drive one way) to try their branzino and were extremely disappointed that they didn't have any. Eggplant Benedict: delicious! if you love eggplants and eggs, you will love this dish. I had ordered this because they didn't have branzino. I think this dish was ready before the others because it was room temperature. Skirt steak and eggs: my husband ordered this and enjoyed it very much. I think this dish was ready before the others because it was room temperature. Chicken tagine: the chicken was tender and delicious. The sauce had a sweetness to it which made it not great but it was still good to have with bread. Chef's tagine which was salmon: the salmon was cooked to perfection (I cannot stand over cooked seafood) and it was my 4-year old's favorite. The sauce was under seasoned and heavy on the tanginess from tomatoes but it had really good veggies - zucchini, bell peppers, carrots, peas, olives and potatoes. Milk Pastilla: in comparison to the rave reviews on this, it was just ok... it would have tasted better if the cream was on both the layers of filo and not just the top layer. Service: all the servers were warm, friendly and attentive. Our server was sweet but we had a little bit of a language barrier w/ her. I told her I might have a coffee later but she misunderstood that to no coffee and brought the check out. We had to wait for coffee for 15 mins. And then another 10 mins for cream. They were out of cream and instead of telling us that, one of the servers ran out and got cream which we thought showed hard work. My coffee had run cold but they didn't charge us for it. Price and Portion Size: for DC, I thought the price and portion size was pretty good. We've been to a few restaurants that are charging covid fee so we were happy not to see that. Parking: we were lucky to find parking right across the street where there was angle parking. If not, you could try the residential streets. Barracks Row is a fun street w/ lots of other restaurants - Bombay Street Food (our fav in the DMV for chicken biryani), Ted's Bulletin (decent brunch), District Donut, etc. We are foodies and love to try a new restaurant every week and we can definitely see ourselves returning to try the branzino and chicken skewers.

At the first time I found this place I was afraid the food it’s not going to be like my Mom’s Food because I’m MOROCCAN. When I choose this dish chicken Tagine and moroccan Tea and bread, I was just wondering how it’s will taste, OMG when I ate it It’s no different between my mom and this one. When you try something and taste like home food means that’s it’s clean and good place I will definitely come back for the great food I got. I don’t have to mention the service it’s was AMAZING GREAT couldn’t find the right word 🤪. Needs Moroccan Place and eat moroccan dish the is the right place. i wish I can give more then 5*

I wanted to love this place. The photos of food looked really great but the service and food was subpar. We waited like 3 minutes to be seated and it was not busy. It was like we were invisible. Then we explained that we had not eaten there before and asked about the most popular dishes. The waitress seemed very disinterested in making recommendations but did tell us what she liked. We asked about drinks and my wife inquired if there was any tradional or sweet drinks and the waitress recommended a bitter old man drink with wiskey. Either she didn't understand or just wanted us to have a terrible experience. We ended up ordering several dishes and the main meal was a beef and potatoes dish. There were no potatoes and the beef was good but half of it was fat. Who eats fat? Not this girl. We won't go again and would not recommend Mekki to anyone.
