Shocking, the patient experience has just got worse and worse. Waited for an hour this morning for my daughters appointment for the GP to be rude and patronising. Centre manager just used the โ€œNHSโ€ rhetoric when I tried to feedbackโ€ฆ Outdated, scaremongering wall signage. Last time I was there, they made a dyslexic patient with no internet access complete an E consult form at reception, rather than just book him an appointment. One size does not fit all. Will be moving surgery imminently.

Doctors are lovely. But sadly the practice insists on using the absolutely awful E-consult service. I filled one out and didn't hear back til 3 weeks later, at which point my condition had worsened. My only way of seeing a doctor or nurse now is a walk-in or wait til late at night, ring 111 and hope they can get me an out of hours appointment. The E-consult form is terrible. What an awful change.

Reading all the negative reviews and comments I am just wondering if we are all visiting the Devaney Medical Centre on Balls Road. Haven't really had the need to visit the doctors over the years but within the last five months I have seen 3 doctors. Bates Charles and Nuttall. The service I received on each occasion has been of a professional and high standard. The staff in reception have been friendly. At times it is difficult to get an appointment but when you read the notice on the surgery wall that 43 patients failed to arrive for their appointments in one week you understand how difficult the job is.I do believe that a charge should be made when patients fail to arrive for appointments. A big positive for patients is the Patient Access App as I have used this on all 3 occasions and found an appointment to fit in with my work.To all at Devaney Medical Centre you are well worth my 5* review and keep up the good work.

I would not advise going here if you have mental health problems, you will just be stonewalled by condescending, passive aggressive staff and doctors. Ridiculous wait times for phone appointments and up to 4 day waits for prescriptions. Just a general "they dont care" vibe..find somewhere else if you are in crisis.

This surgery used to be great. Now Im looking for an alternative. It's so complicated to make an appointment. You get told when you will receive a phone call. No one asks if you are free. Then if you're not, you have to contact the surgery to rearrange. You never get offered face to face appointments anymore even when you need to discuss very personal problems. Plus there is no menopause clinic here or any offer of specialist advice for menopause.

Awful practice! Reception staff rude. Doctor are rushed and in turn rush you. They have tried to do everything by e consult which is not only frustrating but also put you off ever booking an appointment.

Can never get through on the phone, never turn on the enconsult forms. Receptionists think their the doctors and they like to lie about waiting times and missed appointments

Impossible to make an appointment for something that might or might not be serious. Re-directed to 'easy' e-consult app that was impossible to use at a ludicrous level. Simultaneously hanging on for the practice but was hung up on after 16 minutes. I may have cancer, but who would ever know?

The doctors are great, especially Dr Bates. But one of the receptionists is extremely rude and messes everything up. As soon as you talk to her she barks at you and refuses to do anything even if one of the doctors has said go back to her and tell her this. I overheard her challenging a patient with pre-diabetic symptoms whether she had symptoms. The receptionist argued with her loudly in front of the whole waiting room and tried to discourage her from making an appointment although she had a letter from the doctor telling her to come back. That woman needs fired.

I have been a patient at Devaney for more almost 35 years. Like many people I have felt a little frustrated by the complications of some of the new systems for making contact - introduced since the beginning of the pandemic. Whenever I have had appointments with any of the GPs there - and I have almost always managed to get an appointment quickly - I have found each and every GP there to be thorough, courteous, helpful and sympathetic.

Devaney Staff are always nice and do their best for us patients. They don't get enough credit in this fast changing system. Must be hard? I have always been treated well and gone away happy.

After reading all the reviews , people not understand that we have been in a pandemic. Yes I understand the frustration but if the government had supported And help GP practices then you would see that practices are struggling aswell . Yes the e-consult is a pain but unfortunately change does bring some challenges . If I canโ€™t see a dr I get a telephone consultation. I have been with Devaney for 20 years and yes you have problems along the way but I canโ€™t fault them at all , from Dr Bates and Dr stokoe who have saved my life supported me and gave me the best care possible . And all the new GPs seem lovely and caring . Here to another 20 years off being with the practice

Been with this doctors 31years and today phoned up for an appointment, and they had removed me from there register without informing me. Over the years they have let me down many times including when I nearly died of pneumonia and the wouldn't give me an appointment in December. Absolutely farce of a practice.

[TO THE 1-STAR VOTERS: Don't forget the way that your experience has made you feel next time there's an election; because that's where you should be focusing your anger. These people, on the other hand, have taken up these careers and occupations because they want to help people, particularly when they're in their hour of need - you bad-mouthing them under any contrary assumption is ludicrous. They're working with the best that that've got, and any more "no wonder the NHS is so bad"-type comments should be directed at the utter scum in office right now giving these professionals so little to work with. Anyway, onto the review...] I've been with Devaney for about 7-8 years now, and have had on the whole a really good experience with them. Sure, booking an appointment isn't the easiest thing in the world to do, but it never ever is, at any other GP. That one complaint aside, first off, biggest point: one of their GPs saved my life a few years back. How could I give them anything less than 5 stars after that? But they've also consistently helped me with a range of other weird and (not so) wonderful ailments over the years, always in a friendly and professional manner (and that's speaking about all staff members, in all roles that I've dealt with). The place is well looked-after, clean and tidy, and has a large-enough waiting room that you can usually sit yourself far enough away from other coughing and spluttering patients; which is always preferable. There's a car park and a pharmacy on-site, too. Lastly, I just wanted to say something about my experience there with the Covid vaccination process: This would have gotten the place 5 stars all on its own, too - the staff were somehow both really quick, efficient and professional, but also friendly, welcoming, and really able to put you at ease.

Went today to collect my prescription. There was an item missing so went to the reception to sort it the receptionist said it would take a week I explained I had none left and needed them so I asked to speak to the practice manager the receptionist told me she was unavailable so I asked to make an appointment to come back and talk to her the receptionist said that was not possible as I had spoken with the practice manager in the past I was very upset as I felt she was being dilbretly unhelpfull so I left with out my problem being resolved and decided to call my MP

I definitely have no complaints, the best doctors and staff nothing is to much trouble, always treated with respect and curtesy no matter what the problem, and I could never thank them enough for what they do for me.

The practice is meant to open at 8am. 20 minutes later I am still getting an automated message saying it's closed. The entire practice is shambolic.
