I saw Dr Bernal for about a year and in that time I've had 2 fillings fall out within a month of him placing them, 2 fillings left with "catches" that I'm unable to floss, 1 tooth that is now very sensitive, and one tooth that it feels like he forgot to fill all together. He is pleasant and his office staff is nice but his quality is sub par. I should have switched dentists sooner. Live and learn.

I called to make an appt. for a filling. I had been seeing another dentist and wanted to change . They told me I'd have to have an exam, x-rays, cleaning etc before I got my tooth filled. I advised I'd had all that and just wanted a filling. The woman asked why I didn't go back to the dentist I had? I said I didn't want to. I asked if they could get my records and gave her the info..They said they would call me back after talking to the office mgr. who was the wife.. They didn't call back and I then scheduled w/ another dentist. I called to let them know, in case, they were trying to get my records and a woman named Evelyn kept asking when my appt. was after I just told her I had been trying to get an appt.? I asked if they had sent for my records and she said -no.They apparently didn't do anything and were clueless. Glad I went somewhere else.

Went to Dr. Bernal for about 25 years. I ground my teeth very bad & he constantly worked to keep my teeth repaired. Finally came to a point he recommended dentures as my teeth were breaking off at the gums. I can say 110% that this dentist never hurt me one time with injections before any dental work. Since acquiring a dentist to pull my teeth & prepare for dentures I just want to say I've been hurt by other dentist just getting the shots to numb my mouth that hurt so bad I've had to jerk away as my eyes leaked severely. For those who use Dr Bernal know for a fact that no dentist takes the time to move the needle around delicately injecting your anesthesia gradually with very very little pain as him. He never ever hurt me once! Something that can't be said for my dentist in Atmore Al.! Wish he was on my insurance plan now. I highly recommend him!

Everything was fine until the cleaning started. I’ve never had a more uncomfortable and painful cleaning. She left the suction hanging from my cheek but rarely gave me the chance to close my mouth to let it do it’s job. So there was water running down my chin and my neck. She was digging into my gums so badly with the tools that they are still sore the day after. When she finished polishing, she did one swipe of water over my top and bottom teeth and then that was it. No option to gargle the rest of the paste out so I left with a ton of grit and polish paste left in my mouth and stuck in my teeth. The doctor came in and said two words to me before quickly checking my teeth and exiting.Will not be returning.

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Bernal for nearly 18 years. We've always been made comfortable and to feel like family. My daughter had a lot of dental issues when she was younger and would "miss" seeing everyone and would ask when she could go back. (Even after having may fillings.)

The doctor is very good. I have no pain during any time he is working on my teeth. He does great work fixing broken teeth and removing cavities. The staff is also all great to speak to and they are always helpful with figuring out payment and insurance. I do rate this office a 5 out of 5 for there great work on me. I do wish they offered anti anxiety nitrous during procedures because my insurance covers it and I don't like the panic I get from anxiety from the sound of drills and such. Other then that one issue I will be sticking with this Dentist for years and years to come.

I went to Dr bernal for dentures. 5000$ they were I'll fitted and after one year he refused to adjust them. They were poorly made. After many phone calls to office No one would return my call . I was dropped as a patient with no warning that they no longer accepted my insurance.

I needed to know how much to save up for a crown and an extraction as a self pay patient. After asking the office staff three times they still couldn't to tell me how much. Left me kinda confused.
