One must visit this ancient handsome lad if looking for a short peaceful outing in a lap of nature. Located very close to the city of Vadodara, a road to this village Ganpatpura itself is quite green and cozy, easily takes you away from chaos of the city. This big old 950+ years old giant of a tree (Baobab : Ghelu vruksh) attracts a visitor and makes you wanna hug him in an instant. The tree and it’s surrounding is very well maintained and not too busy mostly. This baobab is a home of many many parrots and they keep the visitors quite occupied with their liveliness. Total recommendation for bicycle riders, picnic lovers. I am definitely revisiting in winter. Winter mornings must be serene. I recommend to bring kids here to introduce them to this wonderful creature. It is almost surreal to be in a presence of a living entity that has been witnessing all the ups and downs of our planet for centuries from standing at one place.

This tree location is between farms and lots of trees. So, it is not much easier to find it from far. To reach here you need to take little off road while coming from the gokalpura but from the ganpatpura village it is single road, and tree is giant. we visited this place during a monsoon, so it was full of leaves. There is a temple next to the tree as people are worshipping. Really good to see that people are taking a good care of these trees.

Nice place to see mother nature's great creation. The biggest stem of any tree I have ever seen.

The tree stuns you with its size and antiquity. The bird sounds are soothing. But on my latest visit to the place, which was two days ago, I found someone had made ugly paintings on the tree trunk. It's a heritage tree and this should not be allowed. Please wash off those paintings.

We had taken Jaspur to Effluent canal road and then entered Ganpatpura. The road is quite good. Parked the vehicle near Temple, Ganpatpura and walked upto the ΰ€°ΰ₯‚ΰ€–ΰ€‘ΰ₯‹ ΰ€΅ΰ₯ƒΰ€•ΰ₯ΰ€· Baobab Tree. The surrounding is very natural full of greens and agriculture. The tree is well maintained and is worshipped by Locales. Concrete benches in sufficient numbers are provided and a separate shelter is also there. The board provided by Social Forestry deptt need to be repainted with more elaborate details. It is nice outing during the day and approx half an hour can be spent there.
