What can I say, it's Starnes! This place is must if you are ever in the Paducah KY area. My grandparents introduced me to Starnes and now their great grandchildren and great great grandchildren know about Starnes. I don't have family in Paducah anymore but I do try to get there once a year to visit and clean up the markers. All the more reason to visit Starnes!

Best ever, a must in Paducah! This unassuming pork sandwich is packed w hickory smoked flavor. Top w famous Starnes Sauce for an amazing vinegar bite.

Found online and stopped by on a football road trip. Neat place with a lot of history. Limited menu, but not a problem for us as we just wanted a sandwich. Love how they toast them! Got a Pork & Turkey Sandwich to try. Turkey was very tender. Sauce is pretty spicy, which you can buy there as well. Prices were very reasonable, place was very clean, & staff was extremely nice. Worth the stop if you're passing through Paducah!

This is exactly the kind of place I figured it would be, a place where people who've never left Paducah in their life come because they think it's amazing BBQ. Boyfriend and I came and ordered a pork and beef sandwich respectively; his sandwich was bad, mine was good. And mine was *just* good, not great or amazing like other reviews made us think it would be. The beef was flavorful but you couldn't taste it over the sauce, and boy did you NEED the sauce. The beef sandwich was the driest beef sandwich in my life, and the pork sandwich was the driest pork sandwich in perhaps all of human existence. It's a real shame when otherwise-good BBQ needs to be drowned in sauce to be palatable, and unfortunately it wouldn't shock me if locals here thought this is just what good BBQ is, a fact made even sadder knowing that Owensboro is NOT a very far drive. The sauce was unique as other reviews said it was, but far from worth buying a bottle. The food was also too expensive for the portion, we were very sad we didn't just get a pound because we left hungry after 9 bucks. Overall this place is okay, and just okay. Not worth a visit if you're used to good BBQ.

This place is quaint and unique, the gals working there are quick and pleasant. Food was delicious and I can’t speak enough for how good the potato salad was. It’s definitely a place I’d recommend anyone to stop into for a local and affordable bite to eat

My wife has been coming here since she was a kid. Swears that it hasn’t hardly changed. Good chopped pork sandwich (everything is served with perfectly buttered Texas toast). They have some other choices (did I hear you say bologna?) but we always get the pork. Get a side of cole slaw or potato salad and a tea and enjoy! It’s a local place for sure. Get a candy bar out from behind the counter for old times sake! Always great service.

The bbq was clean but definitely needs more sauce. I get the sandwich bread gimmick and it is good toasted but a toasted jumbo bun with added sauce would be amazing.

Being a western Ky native, I was blessed to be raised on this fine BBQ! It is the baseline best that I compare all others to. Love it, and highly recommend to anyone who enjoys Que. Btw, their sauce is epic. Not too much vinegar, but just right!

It's amazing food, a very small place. If you plan on ordering, go eat at the park or take home. Not that the service is bad, but it's basically only bar style seating.

My friend and I were on our way from Kansas to Georgia to work at camp, and our car broke down and had serious issues. As we were killing time trying to figure out what we are going to do we stumbled across Starnes Barbecue. I can’t begin to explain the Love, generosity and compassion they had towards us and the other customers in the restaurant. On top of that the food and atmosphere was wonderful. I can’t recommend Starnes Barbecue enough!

Not too many things last for 5 years anymore… this place has lasted for more than 100 years! As you look around the packed location, the diverse people that show up can’t be understated… people in their 90s to kids in their teens - not even related show up to this iconic location. The price is $3.25 sandwich; where else can you find that now for quality food. I had the beef sandwich; upon recommendation from the two elders to my right, added the Bologna too and thankful for the recommendation. likely the best Bologna I've tasted ever.

It was insanely busy and the staff still provided fast and friendly service. We got a pound of bbq pork with mild sauce, potato salad, and slaw. It was so, so good. I wish they had baked beans on the menu, but the other sides are so good it's definitely not a deal breaker. My family and I will definitely be back and I'm really looking forward to it.

Love Starnes barbecue! I usually get the BBQ ham and potato salad! Sandwiches are served on toast unless you request a bun instead.

Starnes is one (of the two) best BBQ restaurants I've ever eaten with the other also being in Paducah KY. As you drive anywhere near the parking lot, your sences know you are in for a treat. The smell of the smoked... slow cooked ... pork BBQ is only exceeded by tasting it. I like pulled pork (not soaked in sauce) which is how its served here .... but.... the Starnes sauce (included on the side) is their own. Its tangy hot and II suggest getting an extra bottle (or two) to take with you for your own attempt at bbq or as a seasoning for your own ribs, pork, burgers, steaks... etc. It will add flavor to your attempt but you'll never beat tge original. Always busy but well worth it with fast and very friendly service.

My late father's favorite BBQ place. I absolutely love the BBQ sauce - it's simply the best. Great prices, excellent food and service. Highly recommend.....

My grandparents started going to Starnes when it first opened. Granny's family lived in Paducah, so when the came from Iowa for a visit it was a MUST have. They always brought several pounds of meat back to Iowa so we could all enjoy the good ol Kentucky BBQ. I was so excited to visit this place as an adult. Still as good as I remember!

Haven't traveled to Paducah during the pandemic...but my kids demanded I stop by Starnes to replenish....we can't live without it

Smokes ham and BBQ are always great. They were out of smoked turkey due to supplier issues. Hope they can get that resolved soon!
