Came whilst on holiday. 2nd time here this week. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff ( didn’t manage to get names of staff from 1st visit but did on 2nd Ayrton and Emma ), great food with even better prices. The Flaming Challenges menu selection is a must, cant say I’ve found anywhere before with that amount of food for such a good value, add in the fact you get an extra 25% off them on a Friday its an absolute winner. Will definitely be returning when we come this way again.

This place is one of the best pubs I've been to. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the beer and food is second to none. Dog friendly and a great place to eat at very affordable prices when staying in Paignton. Cannot recommend this place high enough. Don't just take my word for it, you must give this pub a try.

We haven't been here for years but it looked like they have made huge improvements since then. My husband had steak and ale pie and I had the hunters chicken both were excellent and served with a smile by our lovely waitress. Will definitely dine here again as we live quite close.

Absolute Gem of a Pub... Had a recent holiday and The Waterside Inn was literally on our doorstep, so obviously ventured inside for a pint. Instantly greeted by enthusiastic and happy staff. Couldn't be more helpful, we have 3 dogs and they were welcomed just as warmly as we were. This fast became our go to pub for the week with the drinks, service and food second to none. Exceptional staff and made our holiday that much better. Quiz night was a proper laugh and my wife won Booze Bingo and got 90 seconds behind the bar.. Well done to Jules and her team Ayrton, Emily, Gemma and Carl to name a few for making The Waterside Inn such a fantastic place. See you all when we are down again.

Went for dinner here (myself, a friend and our children aged 3 and 11) as a last minute decision after a long day of traveling/exploring the area, but so glad we did. We arrived at approximately 7pm and there was limited tables but the lovely staff got us seated within 5/10 minutes. We were advised there may be a 45/60 minute wait for food however it did get served within 25/30 minutes. My usual 'go to' meal when I eat out is a 'hunters chicken' with an extra side salad..so that's what I chose! And it is honestly THE BEST I've had..EVER! I wish I lived closer so I could visit here more often! My daughter chose the child 'big eats' sausage, peas, mash and gravy and she was very happy with her choice! I didnt get a picture of my friend and her son's meal but she had the steak flat bread and her son the 'small eats' chicken, mash and beans.. they both loved their meals! Such good value for money! we did have a 15% off voucher code for our food but our total bill (2 adult meals, 2 child meals and 4 soft drinks) come to just over £35 😱 there was a pool table, toy machines, theme nights if you choose to stay later in the evening and outside seating area aswell. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, HIGHLY recommend this restaurant and I cannot wait to visit again!

Absolutely shocking. Waiting 25 minuets after ordering via the app. We went to go in to ask about our drinks and they had be sat there for the whole entire 25 minuets. Young rude lazy staff. We actually took our drinks out to our own table in the end. Warm beer by then and a cocktail that was on the menu and app but the waitress didn't know what it was therefore was made poor.

Great service, food & atmosphere. Highly recommended. Food is fantastic & good value for money. We stayed for the quiz night - great fun & we were well entertained. The quizmaster demonstrated humour & a great personality, which made the evening even more enjoyable & was a refreshing change

Didn't eat here but when we were there it was noted on the bar thT they had run out of stock of certain foods. Beautiful views to sit and have a drink and comfy seating. Atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable, staff were friendly and had a little giggle with us which is always nice.

food overall was good. but customer service was very poor. i bought the 5.99 all day breakfast which comes with a dessert too. after getting our food we asked if we could have the dessert after finishing the food and the woman said we had to order it together. we then asked if we could still get it as it still remains the same price which is 5.99 but she wouldn’t allow that.

Popped in on way to holiday home, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing food. Dog friendly and staff really make you feel welcome. Both time food was delivered sooner than anticipated and piping hot and presented well. Staff make sure your visit is enjoyable and are very friendly and take time to talk to you . Been here twice now, and somehow I don t think it will be the last 👍

Having been before on previous holidays, we decided to come down to the holiday park close to The Waterside inn at Christmas and booked into the pub for Christmas Dinner. We also knew that it was Dog Friendly, an they do Doggy Dinners, which appealed. Christmas day came, we arrived on time, we were greeted by the friendly staff and were shown to our table. The menu was prebooked so we were only waiting for a few minutes until the starters came, beautiful smoked salmon with salad, bread and dressing. Amazing! The main course arrived, succulent turkey slices with seasonal vegetables, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding, then dessert of Christmas Pudding, all fantastic, all piping hot and fresh. The dogs had the same, a huge bowl each, they were very happy. What a great place, as I said we have been before and will be back for new years eve. Great place, great staff who are more like friends and great food. Perfect 5 star Thank you from Martin, Fiona, George, Boris and Henry

went there for my wife’s 50th birthday. Have to say it was absolutely fantastic. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was great. The food was awesome and it all arrived at the same time so we all ate together rather than bit at a time. 100% value for money and we will definitely be back

Don't go there very often but reading the reviews on the food I reckon I will eat there soon.

My mother ordered the fish and there was more fish in a fish finger. My mother would not let me complain as she is typically British. Don't know what has happened since the last time I ate there as it's usually nice food, maybe new owners?

Came here to eat on our last night in Paignton before heading home. Food was amazing, service was great. The staff could not have been more friendly and fun. Had a great evening. Recommended the jelly and custard cheesecake to one of the staff, hope they enjoyed it!

Lovely family pub serving well cooked, very well priced food. Staff were fabulous and the place had a great vibe. We all left with a happy tummy and a happy wallet. Thanks!

Great experience tonight at The Waterside Inn. Justine was very welcoming, and the service from Charlie, Amy and Tara was great and really friendly. It was my husband’s birthday and they made him feel really special and pre prepared the balloons and banners that we’d dropped off the day before. The food was fantastic - extremely filling! We’ll definitely be back.

This is are goto place after walking the dog on goodrington beach. With dogs welcome and great food and service the staff are friendly and can have a bit of banter.

Could fit us in for a last minute booking which was great. Also dog friendly, ticks another box! Husband really enjoyed his burger. But we had to wait a while for the food (wasn't overly busy with customers) Adult food was brought out before out toddlers, which we requested to come first. Also my steak was requested gluten free and should have come with jacket potato. They served with chips which weren't gluten free though. Were quick to change when we finally got their attention though. Steak also wasn't great, was very well done which took a lot of the flavour out of it. Sure if I told them they would have rectified but it was taking so long to get service I didn't bother telling and just took it back for the dog. Staff were preoccupied due to a fire walking charity event (great btw) but did affect staffing and service. Wouldn't return unfortunately.

Excellent big local pub, with vast menu including vegan options including, vegan fish and chips, mushroom pie. Great entertainment including the very popular Vinyl Avengers outside every Sunday through the summer for Sunday Soul at the Waterside. You will sure have a fab time dancing outside.

Great customer service. So Friendly and attentive. Made sure we had everything and checked to make sure we were enjoying our food. Was absolutely great with my 2 year old too. The waitress Becci was amazing and had such a lovely positive attitude. Amazing food. Couldn’t fault it, would 100% come again. The selection of drinks were amazing. Took me a while to choose a gin there was just so many I wanted.

Went here as recommended by some locals for breakfast on way home from lovely holiday. Visited yesterday mid morning and greeted by an excellent waiter who showed us to our table. Food is well priced and the breakfast was great. Partner had pancakes which were delicious our little one had children's full English which was excellent and I had bacon bap and the bacon was amazing. I can only comment on the breakfast but imagine the rest of the food is great too. Staff were friendly and excellent customer service. Wish I could remember the guy's name who served us as he was excellent. Clean toilets. Overall will definitely return when back here on holiday.

Dropped son off at his 11+ Tutor in Goodrington so decided to pop to the Waterside to try out the last two Thatchers fruit ciders on tap with my partner. We had tried the Blood Orange last week so went for the dark fruits and Cloudy Lemon Wasnt disappointed with any of them Ideal summer drinks We have eaten on a number of occasions here also with family and food always been hot and presentable. Recommend but busy in holiday season so best to book.

Used to come for Meals here regularly before Xmas, so was looking forward to our visit Sunday for a roast dinner, have to say it was the worst experience iv had, I don’t know what’s changed since Xmas but the food has really suffered, the potatoes were over cooked the meat was scarce and tasted disgusting and the veg was cold, the gravy was some how salty which I’m even sure how you manage that, having worked for Greene king and flame n grill before I’m aware all the food on the menu even the Sunday meat comes in frozen and already cooked and you just heat it up but I feel had more care been taken then it is possible to put out a nice Meal as many other Greene kings manage, I attempted to bring my issues up with a member of what I assumed was management (honestly couldn’t really tell) and was told they would be back with me but never came back, will not be visiting this place again not sure what’s happened but the food standards have slipped as have seen lots of negative reviews and spoke to others who have visited but chose to ignore them based on positive visits in December the only saving grace was that our drinks order wasn’t messed up, toilets were also filthy and I think a stick of dynamite may be the solution, having read previous reviews I’m sure I’ll get a reply saying we can do better please contact me but having spoke to management on previous occasions down there it’s clear they are never in the wrong

Booked a table of 11 yesterday for the rugby. Lady I spoke to when booking the table was lovely. Couldn’t do enough for us whilst we were there. The food was delicious and we all had a fabulous night! Thanks Waterside Inn.

Green light to the Waterside Inn for fantastic taste steaks, great with a bottle of red wine. We've had some memorable times there.

Popped in for a quick lunch as part of my Wife's birthday. Was met at the door by a friendly and smiling lady called Victoria who showed us to our table, they were very busy. We started looking at the menu and it was explained to us by Jules how they were down to a single chef and so they would be a little wait on food. As we sat waiting for our food more people came in and we heard Victoria explaining the delays in food. Despite this the majority of people stayed which speaks volumes for how well regarded the Waterside Inn is with diners. Despite the issues they were having the whole team worked tirelessly to ensure all customers were happy and were kept updated. When our food arrived it was well presented and tasted fantastic and outstanding value for money. Overall a wonderful experience, many thanks to Victoria and Jules for making it so.
