An average tourist location in terms of scenic beauty. Underdeveloped understandable because it's inside a forest and wildlife preserve. Avoid night rides there just a week after our visit some guys met with an accident and expired so be careful or employ experienced drivers. Not a full day occupying spot...either visit early morning (6~8ish) or evening sunset and sunrise very attractive and photogenic over here. Other than that keep drinking water and food handy if you are planning to spend more than 2 hours.

Hidden beauty of Malampuzha and the most instagramable spot in Palakkad. The place was so serene and beautiful especially during rainy season.

Best view of sunset with a scenic ambience. Kava have different faces during different seasons. It is the catchment area of Malampuzha dam. The roads leading are very good and its a nice drive amoung the woods serving like a canopy. Either sides of the roads are covered with mango trees etc. The area is fenced and there is an open way to get to the viewpoint. I saw two wheelers roaming around the place, although i suggest a good walk around the place. I visited the place when it was almost summer and evidently the water was less. I suggest not to roam into the water since it is covered in clay. But the view and the breeze there is soo soothing and calming,i am absolutely in love with the place.

If you are planning to go with family to have a great view from the view point, definitely you will be disappointed. Nothing is there. It’s the backside of the Mazhampuzha Dam. On the way you have some scenic places. Maybe if you go without any expectations you may feel happy

Go here early in the morning or in the evening to experience the vibe of sunset and sunrise.Going in the noon is a bad idea. Also try to visit here during the rainy season because the place will be filled with water. Try the dam fish fry from the nearby small shop.It was so good and very cheap for the portion that size. They started frying the fish after I gave the order. It was only 50₹,if i was in a restaurant in any other city.....it would cost me 150₹+ for the portion that size. Be careful of the small fish bones while eating.

Kava Island in Palakkad is truly a hidden paradise! Even though I'm from Tirur, Palakkad has become my second favorite district, thanks to its breathtaking landscapes and beauty. I've had the pleasure of visiting Kava Island twice, and it's an experience I'll remember forever. The scenic beauty of Palakkad, and specifically Kava Island, is something to behold. The lush greenery, mountains, and more make it the perfect. It's a place where you can disconnect from the rush and tiredness of everyday life and find yourself in nature's beauty. Whether you're a nature enthusiast or simply seeking a peaceful escape, Kava Island in Palakkad is an ideal destination. And believe me it's a romantic place too ❤️🥰

Amazing view of mountain, dam water and the beautiful landscape. Evening time was very ambient one. We can spend hours with simply sitting and observing the nature. The one of most beautiful places in Palakkad. One side the western ghats are headed up and it touches the clouds and sky. The cattles are widely eating the grassroots. In evening there is fresh winds are passing through the mountain and it touches the water and cooling the area.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Kava Island Viewpoint near Pazhakad, and I must say, it was an experience that left me breathless. Nestled amidst the natural beauty of this coastal region, this viewpoint offers an extraordinary panoramic view that is simply mesmerizing. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the stunning sunset and sunrise vistas that Kava Island Viewpoint is renowned for. There is something truly magical about witnessing the sky transform into a canvas of vibrant hues, casting its warm glow over the surrounding landscape. The picturesque play of colors against the tranquil backdrop of the ocean is an awe-inspiring sight that is sure to leave an indelible mark on your memory. The view from the viewpoint is unobstructed, providing an uninterrupted vista of the entire coastline. As the sun gracefully sets or rises, the changing light creates a symphony of colors that infuse the scene with an ethereal beauty. It's a perfect spot for photography enthusiasts, nature lovers, or simply anyone seeking a moment of serenity and tranquility.

Another beautiful place around Malampuzha to hangout with the dear ones, if not interested soaking yourself in solitude, at a place where nature treats you so naturally. Green earth, Blue waters, Golden sun and its all really surreal during late evenings.

More than the Kava Island, the drive to Kava itself is beautiful. There is nothing much to do at Kava.. its just the drive and serenity around that you can gaze at. Ideal to spend some quality time with family in the peaceful environment. Recommend visiting here in the evenings, amazing sunset view amidst the palm trees is definitely a beautiful sight. There are few street shops selling brined fruits and baked corns and lime juice.

A very beautiful picnic point inside the reservoiur region of Malampuzha, Palakkad. Location can be witnessed in many malayalam movies. During summer you will be able to get into the water (not advised for kids). There exists shallow canals near by for families to get in and play. Good evening driving spot. After crossing the Rock-Garden, around 1km you would see a direction board "Anekkal" and you need to take a left from there and drive for 20kms to reach the destination. Dont forget to carry a good camera or mobile with good mp camera.

If you plan to go there during times when it has water it's a good spot to relax during evening times and you'd be awed by the huge lake and the mountains that cover the spot, makes us feel how small we are. But if you visit there during dry times it's a beautiful experience to walk across the dry lake (if it had to water)

One of the iconic drive-in reservoirs in kerala, I don't think is there any other place like this with a scenic drive around the reservoirs in south india, and apart from that you could get some good fresh water fish menu nearby to satisfy your tummy too. Must visit places in palakkad.

It's a picturesque location. We visited during monsoon in Aug and so it was very green everywhere. The roads are winding and narrow but there is not much traffic. There are few local tea shops selling hot chai and freshly made pakoras. It is worth a visit for half a day. Tourists are stopping wherever they choose and clicking pics by climbing small rocks. If you are looking for selfies, it's a good choice.

Amazing view point and good ride. Off beat and soothing. Weather changes frequently during cloudy days. Have enough food, water and good vehicle. There is no range for certain mobile networks as you move up into the hill. Mostly, drive safe.

Sunset is beautiful and mesmerizing. The roads give a feeling of venturing into forest. Worth spending 1-2 hours with friends and family. Petty shops are available on the way to have snacks and tea.

It's a good place to hang out with friends... You'll have safety concerns, water might be following at a very faster rate during the monsoons, no changing area(for women),no shops nearby.

The combination of rolling hills, lush forests, and serene bodies of water creates a harmonious symphony of nature. Kava is a calm and quiet reservoir shore opposite to the famous malampuzha dam. the shore is the reservoir front for the malampuzha dam, and its lush green waterfront is the main attraction. the sunset here is amazing. evenings are bit crowded here because of the fresh wind from the forest behind. we can reach easily around 13 km from palakkad, just take the diversion from in front of the malampuzha dam, towards right, the road will go directly to this area.

One of the best place in palakkad and who are going to visit malampuzha dam , should visit the kava reservoir view point. It's a beautiful frame and a good looking location. I didn't heard about the place before but after I reached in malampuzha searched and found it. And the journey to there is also a wonderful drive. And there are few more stops before the destination. Like a shadow areas ?

Fantastic place and very good photo point with wide 270 degree view of Malampuzha Dam reservoir. It is very good place to reduce all our stress and relax our mind with friends and family. This place is located backside of Malampuzha Dam and drive to this place will be fantastic. Definitely all riders will love to go ride in this S bend roads and in Kava offroad ride. Could see many family and friends will be coming here to see the beauty of reservoir. The best time to visit Kava is at evening around 4pm and could spend there till sunsets. Mostly people come here to see the sunset ans take some snaps and spend their evening with friends and family. Perfect season to visit the place is October to December, climate and water level in DAM reservoir will be good. If planned to visit the spot in two wheeler, please make sure the vehicle condition, especially tier. There won’t be any who wheeler or four wheeler mechanic shop to help, should get help from fellow there there and reach Palakad for further repair. It is not allowed to take bath in the reservoir, it is really dangerous and water also won’t be clean as seen. There won’t be any snacks shop or fast foods shops nearby the place, so pack the required snacks to spend a very good evening there. Don’t through poly covers or waste in the reservoir, its our duty to preserve our nature and handover to future generation.

Great place at the lapse of Palakkad. At dry time this is the best place to visit near Palakkad town which gets submerged under water in the rainy season is the continuation of the reservoir of Malampuzha Palakkad. Riding for some Kms to the place from reservoir park to escape into the natural beauty with a good climate and is a good place for sunset views in the town.If you are a travel addict then it's the right choice traveling through the woods to the scenic beauty
