Its my ancestral family deity so emotional prejudices apart, its a small beautiful temple in Yakkara, Palakkad with its own small pond with clean fresh water. It has small temples dedicated to Ganapati, Ayyappa and Shiva apart from the main one dedicated to Devi. The vibe of the temple resonates with the spiritual lifestyle of the people who live here and also of the sincere prayers of all those who visit here. The Mother Goddess surely takes good care of her devotees and protects them, when one surrenders to her.

One of the powerful Devi temple in Palakkad dedicated to Durga devi. It’s situated in Yakkara which is very close to the town. Its on the way to Palakkad fort. As many Palakkad origins are considered this temple as their family deity and visit this temple atleast once in a year. The festival(vela in local language) is very famous.

One of most loving place in Palakkad. From when I was a small boy and now being a grown man. Memories are completely filled with the temple. A very peaceful place. With a lovely pond in the premises. Whenever I visit Palakkad after moving out I make sure I come and sit there and move off.

Big pond associated to Manappullikkavu Bhagavathy Temple. Neatly maintained and fenced properly from the temple side. As huge amount of water is stored in the pond throughout the year, its very helpful to near by areas for the availability of water in their resources. There is a Kulappura also. Steps have been built for safety bathing.

Sree Manappulli Bhagavathi is Lord Shiva's daughter and she is Bhadrakaali. She was born out of the sacred "Jada" of Lord Shiva during Dakshayaga. Shree Manappulli Bhagavathi is black in colour, with four hands, each one having Soolam, Kapalam, gadkam and khedam. She has three eyes, four big teeth, a beautiful dress, several ornaments, in ghost vahana very bright and shining and fearful in appearance. She is well known to satisfythe desires of the devotees. It is said that the Goddess will be there whenever any devotee calls with real devotion.

We had a great DARSHAN at the temple. The only problem which we faced was the way to the parking area. There are plenty of parking spaces however to get into the space is very difficult due to narrow road for incoming vehicles and outgoing vehicles. Let the management take appropriate action for this.

The temple is an ancient one with constant faith on the Goddess by the devotees. The temple is kept open from 5 am to 12 noon in the morning and 5 pm to 8 pm on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays to help devotees from far away places. On other days the temple is open from 5 am to 11am and 5 pm to 8 pm. Devotees from other places from within the country as well as from outside visit the temple.

Our Kuladheivam Manapullykavu Bhagavati Amman is a generous deity. A small but beautiful temple situated a bit away from the hustle of Palakkad has a beautiful temple pond and is serene & beautiful. One should make it a point to visit this temple during the temple festival called Vela.

Lovely Devi temple, Adimai Kkavu (ancestors pledged alliance) for many local people. The festival (Vela) is celebrated with pomp. The festival day is a local holiday.

The temple is pristine and serene. However the outer courtyard needs a thorough cleanup as it is filled up with bird droppings and smells heavily of it!

In Yakkara, Palakkad, there is a little, lovely temple dedicated to the god of my ancestors. The shrine has its own small pond with clear, fresh water. Aside from the main temple, which is devoted to Devi, there are smaller temples dedicated to Ganapati, Ayyappa, and Shiva. The ambiance of the temple is a reflection of the spirituality of the locals and the sincerity of their prayers. Those who put their faith in the Mother Goddess may rest certain that she will look out for them and keep them safe.
