I stayed here with my Italian boyfriend for two nights in April 2022. This hotel is easily the best-kept secret in the region! The hotel is family run, and they make you feel like family- if your family were blessed with a five-star Roman chef! The rooms are immaculate, the views are beautiful over a central square and the treeline of a public park, private, quiet, and the decor has an antique charm of traditional family-run resorts (like those found lakeside in America). And then their restaurant is absolutely amazing!! We had been traveling through the area for several days and had tried some of the best traditional Roman restaurants in Rome (not tourist traps)- but the cooking at the hotel restaurant was the best of anywhere we ate in Lazio! They offered us extra complimentary appetizers and desserts, and a local couple eating there recommended we ask for ravioli di pistacchio- not on the menu- and they made it for us, and it was just spectacular! My boyfriend had the spaghetti alle vongole, also delicious. Overall, the service is exceptional-- we didn't have a car, and were worried about managing to get local buses on a holiday Sunday, and they helped us find a shuttle to the train station in Zagarolo. Even if you are just passing through Palestrina, eat lunch or dinner here!! You won't regret it.
