This is a must see and do if you are visiting the Palm Springs area. You start by driving up the mountain road to the entrance to the park which is located close to the downtown area. Then catch a ride up the tram to the top of the mountain and catch the beautiful views while you are riding up the mountain. By the way the tram floor rotates in a circle around inside so everyone gets to see the beauty. Be prepared for the odd feeling when the floor starts to move. It is very slow but does take some getting used to. There are many activities to do once you are on the top of the mountain. Take advantage of all the hiking trails coursing through the park. There are also shops and restaurants at the top that are worth looking into. We spent a good half day there and still could go back to see more. Definitely a Must-See for any family.

The views, the green trees, sometimes snow but IT'S always FABULOUS. Taking a walk/hike on one of the many well maintained trails is ALWAYS fun. I highly recommend a short visit or a day long hike, whatever excites you this National Park has it for you.

Lovely warm winter day to take the tram up and hike at the top. We bundled up with lots of layers expecting daytime temps in the 40s but we're pleasantly surprised it was around 70f when we got there around 11am. There are storage lockers on the first floor if you find yourself in the same case as that come in quite handy for storing unneeded gear to lighten the load. The views from the valley "notches" were breathtaking. Amazing on a clear day you can see the whole Coachella Valley, the Salton Sea, and even mountains in Nevada. Wow!

What an amazing surprise this was. It was close to 120 degrees in Palm Springs and at the top of the Tramway it dropped to a mere 70. Green grass, bright blue skies, ponderosa pine trees that had bark which smelled like butterscotch candies. I have thought many times of taking the Tramway but hadn't realized that there was an entire park at the top with 57 miles of hiking trails. I would recommend this to anybody that wanted a quick day trip or even an overnight although there is a several-month waiting period to get a permit for an overnight camping trip.

Beautiful! Great trail system around the visitor centre, but the trail up top is closed. For more of a challenge, cross the road, and go up the Art Smith trail. Scenic, the first parts look out over Big Horn, and then go further up into the mountains. Very challenging, but no water stops so bring lots!

Where do I begin?!!! This experience was stellar, amazing, breathtaking just to say in a few words. Some friends and I went on the tram on our way up and the views were captivating. The air is crisp and clean. You can't beat the scenic view up there. It was simply marvelous. The pictures I took didn't even do it justice. To see it with your eyes it is truly unbelievable!!! Definitely a place to come back too, the staff was out of this world, friendly, funny and made us feel at ease.

Road my bike up the Tramway. Beautiful, but difficult, climb, with amazing views from the top. The road was closed about 2.5 miles (4 km) up due to a washout, but the scenery was fantastic nonetheless.

A walk in the wilderness is sometimes good to catch a break from the normal routine of life. I had a nice short walk here at Santa Rosa and San Jacinto.

Fantastic quick hike very near downtown. You won’t regret taking the time to do it. Beautiful rock outcrops and great views of Palm Springs.

I've visited the San Jacinto mountain range since 1974 I've hiked from the bottom station to the 3 Indian hot pools. While they're located close together, each pool was a different temperature. There was a lot of vegetation, Vines & ivy's clinging to the tree's. I encountered people bathing and camping, however this area wasn't open to the public ín 1975. Shortly after The New tram card were in operation I worked at The Gift Shop's at the Top Station, nextdoor to the Restaurant and at The bottom desert station. They have lots of things going on, cross country skiing when they have Snow. I highly recommend you check it out, winter and Summer.

Palm Oasis trail: Signage not so clear at the end of the first flat river bed (Bear Creek) segment. Nor any signs once the climb begins, though that's not a problem since the trail is obvious. Pretty steep grade with narrow rock footings, but nice views... Though not as good as the Boo Hoff because the grade here starts later. To walk all the way to the Oasis and back you should start latest late morning.

Me andy wife were awestruck with such a beautiful sight from these mountains. People here are so very good they have all patience to explain you everything that you ask. We did couple of short trails up here and it was not tough one but views from those trials are stunning and awesome. Tram construction was real wonder it's so very beautiful. No words can explain how it feels.
