I've dined at Johanne's multiple times and it never disappoints! Known for their schnitzel, that's typically what I order and it's sublime. There are lots of variations to choose from and each one I've tried was delicious. Portions are gigantic, so be prepared and don your 'buffet pants' or share the plate. And do NOT miss out on the incredible ahi tuna tartare appetizer. It's the stuff dreams are made of! SO good and a generous size for an appetizer. Service was excellent.

What a lovely time! Hadn’t been to Johannes in a few years and was totally delighted with this return trip. The menu was full of great German options but also a bit of “California meets Asia” fare too. The food was perfectly prepared and so fresh. The berry bread pudding was the perfect end as well. Additionally the service was attentive and ever flowing. Our guests were over the moon about the entire experience!

Haven't been here for quite a while...it was a very pleasant and delicious evening. Beth our server was delightful and very attentive! I highly recommend the Sezarac cocktail if you like whiskey. It is made with Bullet Rye, absinthe, Peychaud's bitters, sugar cube and a lemon twist. Kind of a modified sidecar that has been around since the mid 1800's. Delightful!! My husband had the Texas onion soup...OMG.. velvety and delicious. I had the radicchio salad with toasted hazelnuts, feta, dates, arugula and pear. Yummy!! Truly the soup and salad could be your meal... But gluttons that we are we both ordered veal schnitzels. His was a traditional one with capers and lemon. Mine was Jager style with mushrooms, red wine sauce, bacon and crispy onions. Both were served with cranberry sauce and creamy cucumber salad. We were too full for dessert but I think it is absolutely brilliant that they have a 'sample' plate of three bite size portions of their most popular desserts for those who want a little sweet something something without having to order a big dessert. We will definitely be back!

Maybe it just wasn't our place. The pitch from the server made me think we were about to eat michelin star quality food. It started out great with the appetizer but my main dish was raw in the center. I like things on the undercooked side so normally this wouldn't have bothered me but this was too raw. It was plated beautifully but the the flavor was just average in my opinion. Add in the fact it was very undercooked and I would say we won't be back. Shame, I really wanted to like this place. I should also mention my wife ordered a salad with salmon which turned out to be raw salmon. Perfectly acceptable if you know that but the server neglected to mention it was raw. Ask questions or you might get something other than what you're expecting.

Food was delicious. My husband had the duck which he enjoyed very much. I ordered the Jager Schnitzel, which was crispy and flavorful. The restaurant was small and very busy, so abit noisy. But, the food and staff make worthwhile. Definitely, leave room for dessert: apple strudel and cream brulee. Try the sampler!

Schnitzel time! Weather a schnitzel lover or occasional fan, Johannes has what you are looking for to please your crave for schnitzels! And don’t forget to indulge your sweet tooth with an apple strudel. Nice ambience and superb customer service! Parking can be a bit challenging depending on the day and time, plan accordingly.

I enjoy the majority of the restaurants in Palm Springs but have been looking forward to visiting Johannes for some time. I finally had some friends from out of town and we were able to get reservations. Johannes is by far a step above the other restaurants and worth every penny! The service is spot on. The server explained in detail a delightful variety of specials for the day along with information about any dish we asked about. She memorized everything we ordered and came back with everything perfect! The food was incredibly pleasing to the eye, stunningly full portions, that were equally incredibly delicious! We shared escargot for an appetizer and tiramisu for dessert. Both excellent! I will be frequenting Johannes much more often, even if it's just me eating at the bar. All the food is impeccable. There is an extensive schnitzel menu that has only compared to my favorite restaurants in Munich. You won't be disappointed with this place!!

Reservation process was simple. Called left message, got a prompt call back shortly after 3pm. Great wine and cocktail menu. Started with the meatballs in curry sauce and the seafood cocktail. Main course, I had the Pork Medallions My Way with apples, pees, gnocchi and a small side of spetzel. Service was good, food was good. Would definitely come back.

Jagar Schnitzel was fantastic. Mushroom soup was perfect. The three seafood appetizer in champagne glass was very tasty.

OMG dying! This place is spectacular! German Mediterranean style food. Exceptional cocktail, beer and wine list. Incredible food. Great indoor and outdoor space. Staff is spot on! Right on Indian Canyon drive. Very limited parking. To die for!! You must try this place!!

My partner & I had a fabulous dinner at Johannes! We started with the wild mushroom soup which was all I had hoped for- savory, slightly earthy and oh so delicious. I live small plates so I went with additional appetizers including the beet salad and mussels- all delicious. My partner enjoyed the shrimp curry- amazing. Overall fantastic experience. Service was a little slow (took a long time to come to the table, offer drinks etc)- it was busy! Our table was at the sliding glass door to the patio area- get rid of that table, it’s a terrible place to seat someone paying premium prices for a premium meal experience. Our server was awesome, food was as other reviews mention- so well prepared- delicious!

Dined here a few years ago, now has a nice remodel. Good service and menu selection. Loved the mussel app, and special, flounder. Wine were great, as was dessert was super. Reservations needed usually, but we were there early (5:00) and were able to be seated.

The whole experience was amazing. Service was delightful. My partner had the shrimp curry that he loved, even the veggies got a shout-out. I had the halibut special that was perfectly prepared. It is a popular spot so make reservations and add it to your must see list.

Johannes never fails to make an impression. The atmosphere and ambience was relaxed and comfortable. The food.... delectable as always. A definite must try if you have never been...

The best schnitzel I've ever had, they all looked amazing but we went with the lemon-butter & capers version and it did not disappoint. We also had the pork medallions (pictured) which were plated so beautifully even if the pork was ever-so-slightly overcooked. Service was very fast and pleseant.

What an outstanding meal! From the moment we walked in the door the attentive staff made us feel welcome and provided outstanding service. Our table had the soup and salad of the day as starters- both were outstanding. Then we had salmon and chicken curry which was out of this world. Here is my curry after I did as much work as I could- portion sizes are generous. This is our new go-to when in PS!

It was a delicious birthday dinner. Service was gracious and the food was excellent. Small but precise cocktail list. Lots of schnitzel choices. Generous portions. Very attractive dining room and attentive servers. Parking is tight right on that corner but there's a open city lot diagonal and a free city garage one block down.

Ambiance was MUCH better than it looked from outside. Service was top notch and the food was absolutely incredible. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the curry sauce, with the meatball appetizer was maybe the highlight. Everything was just incredible and I highly recommend it.

Great experience. The food was excellent. we all had different schnitzel. My favorite was the jäger schnitzel, but the peppercorn and the lemon carpet ones were delicious too. The cordon blue special is also one to try!! We had the cheese spätzle and the meatballs as appetizers. Both were good also. Lovely dinner experience. thank you.
