Really enjoyable hike up to Bob Hope House, with sweeping views of the valley below. Recommend taking lots of sunscreen and water as there is no shade, if you're going in the summer it's definitely worth it going early to avoid the heat. If you're there in October, the Halloween decorations at the start of the trail are kinda random but quirky and fun.

Nice, wide trail with some fairly steep inclines to get the heart pumping! There are lots of lookouts to get views of Coachella Valley on one side and views of Mt San Jacinto, and sister peaks, on the other side. The trail is completely devoid of shade, so hiking it in the middle of the day could be quite hot. There’s ample parking at the trail head off Palm Hills Drive.

If you want to go all the way to the top, make sure you have water and are in decent shape. The trail to Bob Hope's house is not too hard but there are some slippery places in the trail so be careful. Once you reach the top you have a terrific view of the valley and surrounding mountains.

Great hike! About 7500 steps from trail head, to flat area above Hope house, and back to trail head. Roughly 3.69 miles give or take. I hike a lot so would say this is easy but my wife doesn’t and felt it was mildly challenging. I saw a wide variety of ability levels so definitely a hike for everyone. It is rocky and very little shade so want to be careful. Bring extra water! The view the entire hike is amazing and Hope house is very cool. We ate lunch up there before hiking back down. Parking is limited depending on when you go. I got lucky that someone was pulling out as I pulled in.

About an hour each way, with the Hope house about the half way mark. Wear good foot gear, bring water and a snack. Trail is well marked but has lots of craggy rocks - best to watch where you're going and stop for the views, which are great! Very worthwhile. Lots of friendly folks to greet along the way.

Good trail, gets busy so tough to find parking. Took our two kids (8 and 9) no problems at all. Saw some big horn sheep!

DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED! Clearly states this at the trailhead. We eventually found the trailhead after a bit of squirreling around, but were disappointed to see that dogs were not allowed, despite this trail coming up on a number of searches for dog-friendly trails. We walked the river-bottom with our pups instead. Google and other services, please remove this from your list of dog-friendly trails in the greater Palm Springs area!!!

Horrible access. Can’t walk to a hiking trail? Nope, not this one. Plenty of residential developments across the street served by wonderfully landscaped sidewalks. But to get to the trail you have to cross a 4-lane, 50mph state Highway. And it’s very, very busy. Don’t let the Palm Springers play Frogger with you. Stay away. Much more beautiful and much safer hikes just a couple of miles north.

Great first day hike! Loved passing by amazing architecture in the hills and hiking on up to 360° views. The peaks in the snow are stunning to see with sun shining on them. Will likely pass other hikers. Everyone is friendly and shared the paths well.

Nice trail with some parking right off the main road. Good trail for kids - our 5 year old felt really accomplished and enjoyed exploring the rocky sides of the path. Great one to checkout especially if you are a bit time crunched since its easy to get to. There was also a fun easter egg patch near the beginning of the trail that was a fun surprise for the kids.

Great hike although finding the trail from the parking area was a small challenge. Beautiful views of the desert floor and some celebrity “cribs”…

Nice hike up and past the Bob Hope house. Additional signage would help. Decent views. Moderate climbs up to 1800 elevation. Got off on another trail on the way down.

Typical Palm Springs mountain hike with gorgeous views. One hour 15 minutes up, 45 min to come down. Hot in summer, come early in the morning and bring plenty of water.

Nice up and down trail with good views of the valley. The path is fairly flat and even and easy to walk because of the switchbacks, but it gets pretty steep near the top. It would make for some great hill training for trail runners. P.S. you can see Bob Hope's old house from the trail.
