I was in this gym with the desire to see if I could start going frequently because it is quite close to me. But I must say that I did not like this gym. The first thing I noticed is that it doesn't have many exercise machines. Some of the ones I usually use are not here. On the other hand, the cleanliness is not good, especially in the bathroom area. As you can see in the photos, the showers and the steam room are quite dirty and lack maintenance. It has the advantage that it has a large parking lot that is free and that it has security surveillance. The gym has a large number of cardio machines. However, due to the lack of cleanliness that I noticed I don't recommend it.

This gym could be a solid three stars, but my main problem is I have been sending these emails to management and corporate for three years about the condition of the sauna. As you can see, it is absolutely disgusting. When I spoke with management, they told me that they are just “stains that won’t come out”. Right. I can scrape the mold off with the back of my thumbnail. Manners leave trash all over and it remains for days, so I know it isn’t paid attention to daily. This needs to be completely renovated- pressure wash with bleach, seal the floor, and put new floor grates down. I’m pretty sure this is one black mold lawsuit away from a disaster. There are other issues, like people using their phones turned up as speakers while they work out. Employees just walk right past. Members don’t put weights away, leave trash everywhere.

I decided to join this gym primarily because of its convenient location near my house and the fact that it offered a pool, which was important to me as a swimmer. However, my experience at this gym has been quite disappointing. Upon entering the bathroom facilities, I was immediately struck by how dirty the floors were. It was evident that they hadn't been properly cleaned in quite some time, which was off-putting. Additionally, the pool itself had noticeable rust stains that were quite unsightly. To make matters worse, I even found screws and nails on the pool floor on multiple occasions, which is a safety hazard and shows a lack of maintenance. The lockers at this gym are in poor condition as well. Many of them are broken and in a nasty state, which doesn't inspire confidence in the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility. Furthermore, the locker area floor is consistently dirty, making it uncomfortable and unhygienic to use. If you're interested in using the weights section of this gym, be prepared for disappointment. The weight racks are often empty, and it's rare to find the specific dumbbells you need. This lack of organization and availability reflects a serious mismanagement issue. It's evident that this gym has potential, but unfortunately, the management team appears to be more focused on their personal social media accounts than on properly maintaining and improving the facility. This lack of attention to detail and customer satisfaction is frustrating and leaves much to be desired. In conclusion, while this gym initially seemed like a promising choice due to its proximity and pool availability, my experience has been marred by dirty facilities, rusty pool, broken lockers, and a lack of weight equipment. I hope that the management team can address these issues and fulfill the gym's true potential.

Absolutely disappointed of how dirty everything is, especially the bathrooms/shower areas. Also very dirty workout equipments. Completely regret my decision of joining. Lesson learned from next gym membership. This place is very expensive, however they keep their premises as a third world country.

I've been at this LA fitness location a few times recently and I can say that sor far I'm satisfied with the gym and its staff. The customer service is friendly and the environment is clean, welcoming, and motivating. The staff is generally happy to answer my questions and offer assistance. The gym is also generally clean and the equipment is in good working order, and the locker rooms are clean and spacious. Overall, I'm very happy with my experience at LA Fitness in almost every location. I would recommend it to anyone and you can ask for specials if you want a better membership.

I needed to write down a bad review to this gym because me and other girl had an not pleasant experience, this is about safety and security !! So what happened is that we were in the WOMEN bathroom and the HANDYMAN 👨‍🔧 enter WITHOUT sending FIRST a woman EMPLOYEE of the GYM to check if the WOMEN BATHROOM was EMPTY or NOT !! When the HANDYMAN enter to WOMEN BATHROOM the other girl was semi - Naked cause she just came out from pool, this happened around 1:30pm . I asked to the HANDYMAN: What are you doing here and why you didn’t sent a woman employee from the gym first ? He answers : With a small smile , oh ! I have to fix this closet . I told him he cannot enter to WOMEN BATHROOM again with out sending a woman employee first . I report him to the Manager and all the TEAM stuff members and they didn’t even knew that HANDYMAN was in the WOMEN BATHROOM . So please be aware about this issue and hopefully LA FITNESS MANAGER WILL TAKE ACTIONS FOR THIS TO NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.

Gym is always a mess. Dumbbells and weights everywhere laying all over the place, yet it is somehow nearly impossible to find a pair of 10 pound dumbbells. Very poor utilization of space. At peak hours it is extremely overcrowded, which is not the gym's fault, but leads back to issues of space utilization. Oftentimes you have to wait s while for machines or squat racks. Bathrooms are dirty, and several machines are broken or missing parts. For $40 a month plus annual fee I would expect much much better. I went to youfit nearby (other gym chain) and it is only $10 per month and much better in terms of cleanliness, friendliness of staff, and overcrowding. Definitely avoid this LA Fitness location if possible.

I cancelled by membership during the pandemic and recently renewed my membership. I asked why the wifi wasn’t working and a staff member said that it was down, to which I replied that it wasn’t working two years ago and the staff member seemed to admit that it hasn’t worked from sometime. He said that he would pass on the the issue “again” to the manager and appeared to be frustrated that management has not fixed this problem. Its not hard or very expensive to have a networking company fix the wifi issue. After two years you would think they would have done something. It is also hard to find the weights that you want to use as they are spread throughout the gym and the members and staff do not return them to the correct racks. I think they should at least have a staff member that goes around and arranges the weights at least once an hour. The bathrooms and sauna could use some updating.

Over the course of years, I have met amazing people here, mainly with the same goal related to fitness. I think that the people who work here are extremely pleasant and kind. This place in particular has had a positive impact on my life. I've seen progress and changes accrue over time, and I love that the place is still standing in one piece. Love, Be kind, be nice, and workout. 🫶🏼

The only reason I’m giving it 5 stars is the fact that the other employees on the team should not suffer because of one shady individual Lucas Carlos Tomas Jorge Jose are the only reason why that place is not doing bad they are amazing with guests they are truly passionate and honest about what they offer and they are family so if that is wgat you are looking for that is who you go see those few names I stated but other than that I honestly think with out them they would end up closing this location

Sanitation is definitely an issue. The locker room was OKAY, the sauna was meh, the bathrooms were gross, the showers were horrible. Stained curtains, globs of dirt and hair and scum on walls in all the shower stalls. Reminds me of bathrooms at a campsite or RV park. Not acceptable for a gym. It's a shame - if they could just increase the membership fee by $10/month I bet they could afford much cleaner facilities and make the guests much happier. The locker rooms were fairy empty and the members I spoke to said they never use the pool/jacuzzi, even though they have been members for about 6 months. Even the membership representative said the pool is rarely in use. If I had to guess, it is because of the sanitation issues. It appears the members try to avoid the locker rooms as much as possible and shower at home. I observed empty locker room and showers even during a time that over 100 members were using the workout areas. It is really a shame because these amenities are going to waste simply because they are not being maintained. Otherwise, the machines, weights, everything up front seem functional. I observed an exercise class and a biking class. The classroom spaces, raquetball courts, and basketball court were being used and appeared to be of good quality. I did notice at least 5 or more cardio machines are visibly old, with large areas of paint missing, and several sections of each machine looking rusted. It's not a nice appearance but the machines did appear to be operational. I will let each person make their own conclusions about whether this gym is worth attending. In my opinion, even though LA Fitness has more amenities than most of the other gyms in the area, those extra amenities are bad enough that they may as well not exist. Therefore a cleaner and more updated gym with fewer amenities can still easily compete with LA Fitness. Because of this, I will definitely be checking out other gyms in the area.

If you don't want to be scammed don't come to this Gym. I have been trying to cancel for almost 2 months, and there is no way. Even if you explain to them that you want to cancel, they continue to charge you. I have sent forms, calls, I have gone in person, and to my face they tell me that if I want to cancel I must pay another month. You have to end up canceling the card and still I don't know how the agency is to continue charging you. What a bunch of miserable people. They are sad

It is so sad to see a successful gym crash because of a bad managing. I started in this gym a year ago and that was more than enough time to see a failure of organization, and discipline. Good luck finding the dumbbells you need and don’t get me started on on the never available machines. Besides the overcrowding the new staff is UNFRIENDLY AND RUDE, especially trainer Luis. Removing two trainees ( of another trainer) from the training section simply to drop this notebook in the area and not use it. There were no trainers working in the area but his notebook needed a special place. Conclusion if you want to feel like your a bother and never finish a full workout because certain trainers think you don’t belong there then this is the gym for you. (Sadly it is the only gym i have near otherwise i would have left along with the good staff they used to have)

One star for proximity, Not the greatest staff, very apathetic. Most staff are unhealthy and obese. What credibility is there? This is the age of unathletic policeman and obese firemen and unhealthy doctors. This gym is right there along with the false hierophant. Many dumbbells and weights missing. Disorganized. Swissballs under inflated. No dip belt, outdated bosu, limited selection of kettlebells, no heavy bells, wet sauna and swimming area smells like mold and chlorine. Very reminiscent of Los Angeles. Maybe that’s why the franchise is called la fitness. Not a Mecca for health and fitness.

It's okay to be honest. But the bathrooms are so dirty, the sauna is just ew. I went to a cycling class and I like it but it was hard understanding the instructor cause she didn't use the mic and was talking over her loud music felt completely lost.

Came here on a whim and was pleasantly surprised with the service, amenities, and equipment. Both Lucas and Luis were super helpful in getting me set up. Will definitely be back!

I recently had a great experience at LA Fitness on South Dixie Highway. One of the managers, Luis, helped me out with an issue on my account and had me back in the gym working out in no time. This is a compliment to how they do things at this gym. Excellent customer service and a great environment always!

If you want a gym that motivates you to live a healthy lifestyle. Do not go to this gym. There is no air conditioning. There is a lack of machinery, along with no space to move around. This gym will not suit your needs or push you to have a better lifestyle. You would think with the outrageous pricing, air conditioning would exist. However, this is not the case. So again DO NOT CHOOSE THIS GYM.

Clean and organized. Mainly for beginners since weight and machines selection is vastly limited. Dumbells only up to 75lb and no bench press is seriously lacking but low membership cost offsets this.

I like going to this gym. It's clean and has many classes and machines that you can use. Be careful if you are new!!! If they offer personal trainers the membership is for a year. They did not tell me I I got to stay on it, so I don't harm my credit. My trainer is good by the way, but was not on my plans. Also they need kids care on Friday!!

I was looking to sign up at a near by gymnasium to work out near my new house. Called a few gyms near by and was not impressed by the equipment or staff, but at LA Fitness I was astonished by the wonderful welcoming staff and awesome customer services provided by angel recorbea & a beautiful red head angel Deanna ! They had all the answers I was looking for. They both provided me with professionalism, patience ( since I’m not an easy going person , and a “people-first” attitude.This is the kind of people you need to have at your establishment.

Screw this place. They try to hold you hostage when you try to cancel. I am loving Lifetime fitness instead!

Proper staff monitoring is not taking place. The pool has way too much chlorine,. The guys in the weight room don’t put their weights away so when a female want to use a machine, such as the leg press, she must first pull off and restock a few hundred pounds of plates. There are members occupying equipment in the main room and not working out but just goofing around on their phones. The class music is deafening.the entire facility is very crowded throughout the day. Overall it is not a very encouraging place to work out.

I have to give this LA fitness a 5 stars, never had an issue here with anyone, has everything or most things needed to work out and amenities compared to others, not as much chusmeria as the others as well, it could be better but by far one of the best clubs, take it from me is 45 min away from my house and I have three other clubs within a 5 mile radius.

I love it here , I come every night and I’m able to fulfill my workout with my girlfriend …. The steam room is the best always has been for me smells pretty nice 👍 always clean for me . This gym has all of the machines I need necessary to complete my workout 🏋️‍♂️!!! I would definitely recommend someone to come check this location out !!!

If you want to catch MRSA this is the place for you. Great staff. Place is just old and has a dirty feel to it. Same equipment from when I was 17 in 2007.

The environment is super welcoming which is great for me because I was super nervous at first. I absolutely love the energy the staff has. The gym is always clean and looking organized. I especially love how they’re being really strict with enforcing covid policies like wearing your mask.

How is this place still open. The employees are rude and give attitude and do NOT enforce the mask policy AT ALL. Even the staff sometimes leave their masks under there chins for whatever reason. I would not recommend going here. I started attending Homestead and what a positive difference. The employees at homestead are amazing and they make sure to go out of their way unlike the employees here at cutler bay. DO NOT RECOMMEND !

I recommend that everyone with a membership takes a private training session with James. He is extremely patient and professional. James is very passionate about his job and will give you tips to aid you through your fitness journey.

I contacted Robert the GM to notify him that members were not wearing masks and when I confronted staff they stated they would not be "policing" members about masks. Robert offered at that time to cancel my membership instead of holding his staff accountable. I said I did not want to cancel my membership. Fast forward to today, I called and asked to cancel my membership and he says they absolutely NEVER cancel memberships over the phone. When I called about COVID concerns he wasted no time in offering to cancel me. His excuse is what if other members on my plan come in and I cancelled without their knowledge. I have nobody else on my plan. He also then turned around and denied the mask conversation he had with me ever took place and said all members and staff take the mask wearing seriously. I am completely grossed out by his blatant lies. Should have taken the cancel opportunity when he first offered it.
