Medium sized neighborhood park, mostly for nearby residents. Off-leash dog area is on the south side of the park. Neighbors will call the police to report off-leash dogs in other parts of the park. There is a public restroom. Baseball field, basketball court, and tennis courts in the back. Two separate play areas for little kids and bigger kids. Picnic tables near the street. No parking lot, but free street parking.

A very good example of community spaces meeting the outdoor play and recreational needs of residents which are part of the attraction of living in Palo Alto.

This dog park has lots of room benches and a fountain for the dogs. The only down side is the fence is low. So i am always worried he is going to jump

I primarily went there to run my dog. She loves to fetch and run and play. The majority of the park only allows dogs on leash and there is a small fenced-in area to the side. The good thing is that there's a water fountain for dogs (human fountain is broken) and there's shade. There wasn't enough space for my dog to fully run. I would say that it is a great place to socialize, play sports, and take a short walk.

Cute little playground, field, tennis courts and a handball court. It seemed very low usage, though that could have been due to the time of day we were there. We had a lunch break picnic. There are also charcoal grills available.

Fairly quiet park with separate playgrounds for younger and older kids, a dog run, tennis courts, baseball diamond, restrooms, picnic tables & some sculpture features. My 1&1/2-year-old loves the kiddie swings and meeting the friendly doggies.

Quaint little park which has nice grass to have a picnic on and tennis courts. Also had a dog park which is the primary reason I went here. The dog park is completely sand but has a nice amount of shade due to several trees. Also wasn’t very crowded - I live far away from here but if I’m ever in the area I would bring my dog back here.

Super nice park with big grass area and playground for kids, tennis courts, and a cute dog park. Really recommend for kid birthdays or other small get togethers.

Great city park. I played tennis there a few times. The courts can get a bit messy with the nearby Eucalyptus tree but there's a broom to help clean up.

Excellent farmers market on Sundays! The vegetables and fruits at every stand look fresh and they have free samples of everything. The people are all very friendly and ready to answer any questions about their products. There was every kind of fruit that you can imagine and then some. There were bakery items that looked amazing. There were fresh fish, oysters, all kinds of meats and cheeses and lots of different kinds of beautiful flowers. Very impressive place to be on a Sunday! Highly recommend a visit here if you like fresh farmers market foods.

Wonderful park for picnics, playdates, & get togethers. They have a nice little play area for infants/toddlers that is gated. They have a very large play area and play structure for the older kids. Plenty of picnic tables, a small dog park, and tennis courts. Cons: No shade in the play areas. The play structures get very hot and during the hours of 10:00 am to 1:00 pm the sun is beaming in your face.

Nice park with grass and area for dogs to stroll around. Most visitors here pick up after their dogs and are generally friendly. There are benches here for a potential picnic or get together and lots of room for a game of baseball or soccer at this park. Weather is generally very nice here as well

Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, this park provides a serene and inviting environment for visitors of all ages. The park is beautifully landscaped with well-manicured lawns, vibrant flower beds, and towering trees that provide ample shade on sunny days. The well-maintained grounds create a peaceful ambiance and make it an ideal spot for picnics, leisurely walks, or simply enjoying a good book on one of the many benches available. The park features a range of amenities that cater to different interests and activities. For fitness enthusiasts, there are several sports fields and courts, including tennis and basketball, where you can engage in friendly matches or get a good workout. There's also a well-equipped playground area, complete with swings, slides, and climbing structures, ensuring that children have plenty of options to keep them entertained. One of the highlights of Hoover Park is its expansive dog park. As a dog lover, I was thrilled to see a dedicated space for our furry friends. The dog park is thoughtfully designed, with separate areas for small and large dogs, and it offers ample room for them to run and play freely. The park is clean, and there are waste disposal stations available throughout, ensuring a pleasant experience for both dogs and their owners. The park's location in Palo Alto is an added advantage. It is conveniently situated near residential areas, making it easily accessible to local residents. Parking is also readily available nearby, ensuring a hassle-free visit. While the overall experience at Hoover Park was highly enjoyable, there were a few minor drawbacks. The restroom facilities were decent but could benefit from more regular maintenance to ensure cleanliness. Additionally, the park could offer more shaded areas, especially near the playground, to provide relief from the sun during hot summer days. All in all, Hoover Park in Palo Alto is a wonderful outdoor space that offers a wide range of activities for individuals and families alike.

I wanted to share with you my heartfelt experience at the huge park in Palo Alto that I frequently visit with my family. Whenever people mention that there is something for everyone at this park, I can now wholeheartedly confirm that it's true. It offers a plethora of amenities and activities that cater to all age groups and interests. One of the most convenient features is the availability of picnic tables, perfect for enjoying a delightful lunch or hosting a special event with your loved ones. Additionally, the well-maintained bathrooms, complete with drinking fountains nearby, ensure that everyone's needs are taken care of with utmost consideration. For those with a passion for ball sports, the park doesn't disappoint. It boasts basketball courts, a bustling baseball field, and even tennis courts. It's particularly delightful to know that some of the tennis courts provide much-needed shade, making the experience even more enjoyable on sunny days. If you have furry friends accompanying you on your visits, you'll be pleased to discover a delightful dog run area where both the dogs and their owners can socialize and enjoy the shade provided. The friendly atmosphere and ample shade make this spot perfect for some quality time with your canine companions. The park also caters to our little ones with two well-designed playgrounds of different sizes. One playground is ideal for older kids, while the other caters specifically to toddlers. Though it can get sunny during the day, arriving in the morning allows for a more comfortable playtime without too much sun exposure. Commuting to the park from Middlefield or Cowper is a breeze, which adds to its appeal. I genuinely recommend visiting this park as it promises a delightful experience for the entire family. If I were to suggest any improvement, it would be to have more shaded areas around the playgrounds. Nevertheless, overall, it remains a wonderful park that is worth exploring and enjoying with your family. Wishing you all many happy and memorable moments at the park. Take care and enjoy your time together!

Very nice neighborhood park, almost always not too crowded, besides 2 kid's playground there are baseball and tennis fields (no evening lights though). Dog owners must love a closed dog playground area.

  • 4/5 Caroline B. 6 years ago on Google
Very nice local park with two separate playgrounds (toddlers and older kids) and a dog park. A small Redwood grove with sculptures and rocks to climb is my kids' favorite for hide-and-seek and general exploring. The park is not visually as pleasing as other local ones due to the tennis courts in the middle, but it is fun and functional.

Lots of nice green space...I think I only visited a corner of it. Limited parking tho, since it is surrounded by houses. People that live here might hate the traffic that congregates here on weekends without covid, but its definitely a nice outdoor party place

I wish the dog park had grass, but it's still fun for the dogs. There is no separate area for small dogs, but we've never run into any problems. Great park to just walk around as well.

Safe enclosed area for dogs, large & small mix. Dirt surface/water fountain/ scoopers available. Several benches for sitting. Away from the street, located behind picnic tables.
