Hidden Valley Cabins is definitely an experience not to be missed, the 'resorts location' on western slopes of the Great Dividing Range is beautiful, peaceful, comfortable & (hands down) the environment beats the coastal summer heat & humidity. During our 2 night stay, the temperature was approx. 9 degrees cooler & humidity much lower than the coastal strip. The Hosts (owners) Tahlia, Kurt (+ rug rats Billy & Jack), Steve & Sonia were all very helpful. Their 3 star rated facility's amenities were well serviced, kept clean & tidy - the pool was a welcome opportunity, but during our stay we didn't utilize it. The initial 24km of road is bitumen from A1 Bruce Highway up to Paluma Township (at top of the Range), which includes an 18km section (in places) of sloping narrow road. After Paluma, the bitumen road continues for approx. another 18km then with the last 6km being good gravel road before reaching Hidden Valley Cabins resort.

I recently went here with a group as a wellness retreat. What can I say, wow. Location, serenity, perfection, back to nature with no interruptions. Steve, Sonia, Kurt and Tahlia are amazing hosts and cannot do enough for the guests to make you feel welcome and at home. The meals/catering was delicious. To top it off walking around the area and the platypus tour was awesome. Thanks guys. Rooms are also very comfortable, clean and have nice hot showers :)

My husband has mobility issues and uses a wheely walker. Tahlia was extremely helpful in answering my initial queries re suitability of staying there and was there to greet us when we arrived so she could direct us straight to our cabin which was next to the car park. The cabin was fitted out specifically to be accessible and we found it suited us well - spacious, safety rails and bench seat in the shower with wider doors that a wheelchair would easily go through. Internally the bed was comfortable, there was enough hanging space for a short stay, cosy seating and a tv with pre loaded movies. Hot water, fans and screens on windows added to comfort, tho we kept door shut to keep critters out as no screen there. Outside, we had a lovely serene view of the bush with seating and table provided. Sink and kettle outside on hot plate was unusual but no problem to use. Matches, kindling and paper provided to make a fire in the pot belly provided was thoughtful. We met all the family over our 2 night stay and found them extremely helpful and pleasant. We managed the walk to the water holes but it was tricky with the walker and wouldn’t be possible in a wheelchair. The platypus tour was great and we saw one quite close to us which was lovely. The meals were generous and delicious. Being off grid with no phone or internet was a strange but good thing for distressing. I would thoroughly recommend this experience.

I went here with a group and was blown away by the level of care we were shown. The people who work there are incredibly friendly and attentive- we ate homemade food each meal and it was PHENOMENAL. Kirk and Ross were also very knowledgeable about the surrounding wildlife and successfully helped us find a platypus in the nearby stream. I would love to visit again sometime!

Truly a hidden gem! I came here for a week of off-the-grid rest & recuperation and had a phenomenal time which thoroughly exceeded my expectations. Sonia, Steve, and Lochie went above and beyond to make me feel at home and comfortable. The hosts are all lovely and genuine, and so knowledgeable of the surrounding nature and wildlife, I was spoilt with opportunities to go on guided hikes and wildlife tours. Swimming and picnicking on wine and nibblies at the exquisite waterfalls and gorges was just divine! Sonia is a passionate naturopath and registered nurse who holistically assessed my health concerns during my stay and whipped up a personalised concoction of herbal medicine. The home-cooked meals were also delicious, nourishing, and full of quality ingredients, served in a beautiful outdoor setting. I highly recommend the self-contained, deluxe cabins, which are cosy, private, tranquil, and perfect for a romantic couple’s retreat. I will definitely be returning as soon as possible and will hopefully catch one of Sonia’s much-anticipated Reiki sessions, or cacao and sound-healing ceremonies!

If you want to unplug and enjoy the natural beauty of North Queensland's Paluma Range, then you need to stay at Hidden Valley Cabins. Nestled in the bush, this jaw-droppingly, beautiful property is surrounded by amazing wildlife, and situated near terrific hiking trails and various waterfalls that offer swimming opportunities. Gaze at the night sky and take in the wonders of the Milky Way. This family-run business really knows how to take care of their guests. And, and it's eco-friendly to boot! I love this place!!!!

An oasis in the bush, a truly magical place. Hosts Steve, Sonia and family couldn't do enough to make you feel welcomed and accommodated for, truly genuine hosts. Be definitely going back for a longer stay, when they are less busy 🤣
